Bärbel Bas is a particularly abrasive Social Democrat and one of the most disturbing personalities in German politics. Her every public appearance provokes in me a visceral, almost ancestral disgust. Bas is also Labour Minister in Merz’s horrible cabinet, which is probably a good thing because I can’t be the only person who finds her a reprehensible hag. Without Bas, the Government would surely have substantially higher approval ratings.
Bas is additionally useful because she suffers from occasional but quite serious outbreaks of frankness and honesty. Yesterday, she had a particularly bad episode during a speech she gave at the German Cultural Council’s inaugural “Action Day for Cohesion in Diversity.” Among other things, Bas said she wanted to “speak plainly” and clarify that it is time to take a stand against the “grey uniformity” of the German people – or, she added, perhaps even their “brown uniformity”, the latter being of course a reference to our alleged innate fascism. Bas said that some people might long for the old days of this past homogeneity, “but that’s just not how things are anymore, and that’s a good thing”. She continued to explain that Germany may require migration to provide “skilled workers”, but that above all we need migration “for the diversity of our society” and for “cultural enrichment”.
You don’t even have to read between the lines here. Bas and also her approving Leftist audience of cultural elites regard Germanness itself and German society as something requiring correction via population replacement. Among other things, they hope that new arrivals from the developing world may offset the wayward, Right-trending political tendencies of the electorate, and they also hope that newcomers will improve what they see as our boring, nothing, monotonous culture.
For a long time, the mere suggestion that mass migration might represent at least in part a social engineering programme has been dismissed as a conspiracy theory, but when these people speak among themselves, they openly admit what they are trying to do. Diversity has become an end in itself, a self-evident virtue that is beyond question; the opposite of diversity is our own culture, which is Right-wing, blank and bad and requires supplementation from the outside. We are ruled by people who hold their own nations and their own societies in contempt, if not outright hatred.

Sad that her love of diversity does not extend to diversity of political opinions.
The problem as I see it isn’t this lady and her opinion, which she is entitled to. If she thinks the country needs more diversity, well good for her, that’s her opinion. And one might even say that under the electoral rules in her country, she’s entitled to turn her opinion into policy. That’ s not the problem.
The problem is that these totalitarian assholes don’t allow a contrary opinion. The very courtesy that I have conceded above, these fucking fascists, because that’s what they are, perhaps not in the pure political sense, but certainly in their totalitarian attitude, won’t grant those who disagree with them the same courtesy.
That is the problem.
Good thing I don’t live in Germany, btw, or this post could land me behind bars. That’s how bad they are.

Errmm … Aren’t you forgetting the atrocities of the Ukrainian Holodomor of 1933 that PRECEDED WWII, in which Jewish Bolsheviks exterminated TWELVE MILLION UKRAINIAN CHRISTIANS, who were unable to flee to the West like the majority of German Jews in WWII?
I think rather the curated atrocities of the past are used to shame Germans into welcoming their own destruction.
Post-1918, right-leaning Germans weren’t terribly fascinated with Jews as a group because they believed them to be mostly communists and democrats who had operated as fifth column of the Entente to bring on the German capitulation of 1918. It was rumoured that the Balfour declaration and what came of it was the prize they collected for their cooperation.
This is an oversimplification but many German communists and democrats who wanted to downfall of the empire were actually Jews.
It’s also historically accurate that, without the demise of the central powers in 1918, a state of Israel wouldn’t ever have been possible as Palestine would otherwise have remained part of the Ottoman empire just as it has been for centuries. Prior to Ottoman rule, it had been part of various caliphates for centuries as the area was conquered from the Eastern Roman Empire (“Byzantium”) by Muslim Arabs in the 8th century.
Long before the Balfour declaration, Jews had been garnering support for the idea of some form of a Jewish homeland. Theodor Herzl corresponded with the Ottoman sultan at one point and it seems the sultan’s response was not a hard rejection. I don’t think he was envisioning a fully independent state though, but more a territory where Jews were welcome to settle, their know-how and investments benefitting the broader area.
The sultan didn’t correspond with any foreigners as he was barred from using any language except Turkish¹.

Bjorn Höcke is of course absolutely correct in what he states and the same words apply equally to this country. We used to live in a trust based society but that is no longer the case as we all know. Plod has been turned against us and now instead of balanced policing we have two tier. TPT wanna B have done a marvellous job of collapsing our society and must be mightily proud of themselves and shortly they will start the street fighting which will morph into sectarian warfare. Presumably she thinks rapists, grooming gangs, FGM, forced marriage, Sharia law etc is the sort of diversity and cultural enrichment Germany needs.
Sounds rather like a modern day version of the Concentration Camps ….. instead of having them scattered all around Germany, she wants to turn the whole country into one.
Germany may require immigrants to fill skilled jobs? Er, what about the 486,000 Germans who have lost their jobs in the first three months of this year? Inward investment is at a 17 year low and still falling so where are new jobs coming from? Company bankruptcies are at the highest levels this century. And manufacturing is leaving for better and cheaper environments. I would think the last thing Germany needs is more stabby people loafinf about.
A German ex friend of mine contributed to the ending of the friendship by advocating countries taking the approach of whatever South American country it was/is that actively encouraged racial mixing in order to produce a coffee coloured population. She was an enthusiastic supporter of lockdowns too.

Did you point out that the “racial mixing” was the consequence of the enslavement and slaughter of the indigenous by the invading Spanish and Portuguese military, the transportation of millions of African slaves, and the inevitable miscegenation (not always consenting) between what was left of the natives and the invaders and the Africa slave population?

What’s weird is that she’s advocating the polar opposite of the Nazis with their ‘Aryan race’ unethical horror show, yet she still meets the definition of a fascist. In fact, the people she wants to replace white native Germans with would all have been mass murdered and/or forcibly sterilized in the concentration camps as they were on the list of ‘undesirables’. To add some information to this mess of uninformed prejudices:
The notion of a basically extinct Aryan race which was the only race capable of creating culture instead of just receiving it is something Hitler got (as far as I know) from Houston Stewart Chamberlain, an Englishmen who became a German citizen at the times of the second German Realm (much better translation of Deutsches Reich than German Empire) out of dediciation to his idea of Germany and German-ness.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler calls the German an unholy mess of different races whose only saving grace what that all the different constituent parts hadn’t yet amalgated into a German race in its own right (as opposed to the Polish and other European races) and which would thus enable reconstruction of the Aryans by selective breeding.
The army which went to war against communist/ stalinist Russia (the only army which ever did that, by the way) contained volunteer formations recruited from many peoples whose rulers were at peace with Germany, either because they never made war on it or because the government who did had been conquered earlier. This included both French and Slavic units.
This would be Paraguay under the first dictator Francia. This individual was influenced by Rousseau.
