Spain’s socialist Government has suffered a catastrophic defeat in a regional election with the Right surging after Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez opened the door to giving 500,000 illegal migrants legal residency. The Mail has the story.
The Socialists won just 28 seats in the 109-seat regional parliament, down two from four years ago, in Sunday’s vote.
After resounding defeats for the Left in three previous regional elections, the debacle in Andalusia will be particularly painful for Sanchez, whose candidate is his former deputy and ex-finance minister Maria Jesus Montero.
The defeat also follows recent losses for the Socialists in the regions of Extremadura, Aragon and Castile and León, increasing pressure on Sanchez before a general election expected in 2027.
In April, Sanchez approved plans to give legal status to half a million undocumented migrants, calling his decision an “act of justice” and a necessity for Spain.
He claimed the controversial policy will help “build the rich, open and diverse Spain that we are and to which we aspire”.
But footage from shortly after the policy was announced showed migrants seeking legal status in Spain have been seen fighting each other while queuing.
Individuals were waiting for hours at more than 400 locations across the country for appointments after submitting online applications.
Migrants were pictured in long queues outside registry offices in regions such as Catalonia, Andalucia and Madrid.
In a desperate rush to finalise their paperwork, some migrants were waiting in line for hours or staying overnight to get their documents officially stamped.
Tensions rose as the crowds have overwhelmed registry offices and those seeking to confirm their legal status grew restless.
Sanchez has also been dealing with the fallout of the Iran war, which has seen a huge spike in the price of oil, gas and energy.
This has also resulted in huge queues of people in airports, as airlines cancel more and more planes to and from Spain.
And while Sanchez has built up his own status on the world stage by opposing US president Donald Trump’s war, as well as his push for Spain to spend more on NATO defence, Paco Camas, head of public opinion in Spain for polling firm Ipsos, told the FT that international issues had little to no effect on the outcome of the Andalusia race.

Exactly. If anyone familiar with Spain were required to summon in their mind the images associated with Spain, those images would be of an incredibly rich and distinctive culture. Very different from its neighbouring countries, who have their own very distinctive and rich cultures, including England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Anyone who genuinely cannot ascertain how distinctive these extraordinary countries are from one another, individual territories with their own history and observe how culture expresses the stories of those people who have shaped that history and who in turn are shaped by their territories, are fools. Indeed those who cannot grasp the innate richness and diversity of European cultures, are wilfully blind, its so obvious.
Why exactly are these people whose whole culture is completely at odds with the western world, necessary for countrys rich open and diverse society?they are not, the vast majority are there to colonize said country, the writing is plainly written on the wall, the WEF/Fabian elites need to be destroyed, before they destroy the world, not one single country has benefited from these people.
Is there monetary gain to be had? Surely not 100% dogma.

Off topic slightly, I’m pretty sure it should be hung, drawn and quartered so the conscious person suffers the whole ordeal until the end. If you have been properly hanged, you will be mercifully dead before the torture. Others may not agree. In the olden days onlookers never got so much as a trigger warning, imagine that!
I believe that the initial hanging was not intended to be fatal, just torture, pain and humiliation (religious authorities probably had some adverse status for the undead dead?). Then more pain through evisceration (‘drawing the life from the body’) and finally quartering, to destroy the body and send a message to all four corners of the world.

It would appear the 500,000 figure is quite the conservative estimate. I wonder what the impact will be for the rest of mainland Europe as it’s naive to think they’re all going to stay put;

So what is the point of voting in each European country for a national representative because as is shown here the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has effectively given 500,000 + illegal migrants citizenship to all 25 EU countries without the consent of any non Spanish citizens?
The design of the EU by Monnet and Schumann was intended to frustrate voter control of the whole shebang, and the process of ensuring that votes mean nothing has continued to this day.
Yes, exactly like the Outrageous Commonwealth Voting Rights in British Elections, “ensuring that votes mean nothing” as you described. The co-founder of Migration Watch, Lord Green, has been campaigning to abolish this vestige of Empire for years, but it has all fallen on deaf ears, and few British citizens are aware that they have been disenfranchised by swarms of Commonwealth citizens sending in bogus postal votes, especially from countries like Nigeria and India/ Pakistan/ Bangladesh.

Actually, while it is true that the socialist party which is in power in the central government lost some ground in the Andalucia election with respect to the previous election, the ruling centre right party of the Andalucian government also lost its absolute majority. And it wasn’t anti-immigration Vox that picked up those seats but actually other left wing parties.
So I would say the headline and narrative portrayed in this story is, in my view, misleading.

Socialists across Europe are destroying us and inviting in disorderly people from disorderly countries. We, and the kind socialists who love to invite the world, will all suffer a degradation of our land, and our women will suffer greatly from the rapine and violence that these illegal aliens tend to bring.
We must put the left on notice that we will hold them responsible and accountable for any murders, assaults and sexual violence perpetrated by any illegal entrants. They must be, where possible, taken to court for this – maybe civil cases brought against the Spanish PM and any ministers of government (ans ours). The fact that the centre-right PP managed to win at all in the last election and managed to remain strongest party by far in this one is remarkable, as Andalucia has traditionally voted left wing parties for decades.
Google tells me that PP went from 58 to 53 seats, that’s down 5. With 109 seats in total it takes 55 to have an absolute majority, so PP can no longer go it alone. VOX grew from 14 to 15 (exit polls put them at 18, but the figure gradually eroded as votes were counted). The socialists lost from 30 to 28, which is not exactly the humilating wipeout some right-wing pundits are celebrating. The balance is explained by the left-regionalist Adelante Andalucia going from 0 to 8 seats. For reasons unknown to me, the total number of seats has grown from 107 to 109, so even holding one’s ground in terms of seat numbers represents a loss overall. So overall I’d say this election represents a light shift to the left.
