The Government has privately admitted that Ed Miliband’s wind turbines and solar farms are bad for the environment – but is pushing ahead with Net Zero plans anyway. The Mail has the story.
Bureaucrats admit the plans may destroy “nationally recognised sites, landscapes and historic environments” as well as damaging “biodiversity and water resources”.
Officials also confess his schemes may increase “air emissions, greenhouse gas emissions, noise and vibrations, light pollution, dust and soils”.
They also say these negative effects could “occur repeatedly” and “have impacts over the short, medium to long term”, as well as during construction.
The internal dossier, revealed in Freedom of Information requests seen by the Mail on Sunday, raises serious questions about Britain’s food security.
It says their changes will “remove some restrictions on green belt land… This could include agricultural land”.
The revelation will infuriate farmers, who are still reeling from Labour’s inheritance tax changes.
It comes as ‘Red Ed’ Miliband rams through mega solar farms across the country, to the fury of residents who live near these enormous projects.
Mr Miliband, the Doncaster North MP, celebrated his 25th “large scale” green energy project last month. Ministers are expecting fierce opposition after they approved 157 more solar farms to be built by 2030.

The purpose is to look good in the eyes of the EU in order to make transition easier. Fat chance.
Lovely day in North Wales, with sunshine and a bit of breeze. Looking out across the Irish Sea at all of the windmills blotting the seascape and not one of them is turning. Apparently, twenty percent of our energy is being bought in from abroad and thirty percent is from gas. What a glorious waste of money and resources those abominations are.
Never mind the extreme pollution mining the rare earths needed. Many from China but that’s OK as however many die from said pollution, hell, there’s lots more of them.
We won’t mention child labour in the Congo either.
Whoops
If she’ll and BP can be taken to court for their emissions, why should solar farms not be taken to court over environmental pollution and other harms ?
For the Net Zero mob, environmental damage from wind farms and solar farms is like anti-white racism. It doesn’t exist.
I’ve been writing to the RSPB and National Trust about this for the past 2 or 3 years. The RSPB just comes back with the usual garbage taken from the Government’s political statements, and the NT just doesn’t respond at all.
They banned fracking for less… and, I see no consideration for the damages perpetrated in other countries exploited for their resources to implement this nonsense.
So:
But they’ll do it anyway. That sums up the dogmatic insanity which permeates Whitehall and Westminster ….. oh and Buck House/Windsor Castle.
We had to destroy the planet in order to save it.
Plus the relatively short life of these gadgets…

I am getting very pi$$ed off with having to log in again almost every time I try to uptick or comment. Rebooting my reasonably new iPhone does not improve it.
also the response from the DS site has become slow. Please sort this out.
Solar is absolutely absurd in a country like Britain. Our peak electrical demand occurs when it is cold and dark. Solar’s output is highest when it is warm and sunny.
It makes some sense in hot countries where their highest demand comes from air conditioning, but not at these latitudes.
That’s before we consider the absolute environmental and ecological carnage caused by the mining and refinining of the raw materials. But that happens on the other side of the world…
This smoke and mirrors is, literally, how they claim ‘zero Carbon’ for Drax, by ascribing its Carbon footprint to where the wood chip originates.
You cannot despise these people enough…
As I said in the other article:- I still doubt the actual impact of CO2 on global temperature and believe that there is a benefit to mankind from the improvement in agricultural due to the higher levels. But, what really pisses me off is the vast sums of money that have gone into the pollution creating, rain forest destroying renewable energy charlatans. The Germans are still burning brown coal to generate electricity, but fair play to them, they have invested in clean technology, so that they can continue to produce electricity without producing not just CO2, but all of the genuine pollution that comes from a coal fired power station such as sulphur dioxide. Imagine if rather than following the Milibrain cult and the supplicant adherence of the Tory government, we had put the money spent on the destructive windmills into cleaning our own power stations, we would have ample cheap energy and probably a real steel industry with a domestic coke supply. What we have instead is the nightmare that the lunatics are foisting on us.
The Eemian era was 2 to 3 degrees C WARMER than now.
At 1/3rd less CO2 – 280ppm
Real world data shows CO2 temperature controlled climate to be bollocks.
Ergo, models are essential for them.
What is the point of saving the planet if you kill what lives on it?
Favoured people will survive.
The patient died, but the experimental operation was a complete success.
This is madness.
