Kemi Badenoch has pledged the Tories will abandon Net Zero if and when they are returned to power. But will her MPs allow her to carry out this promise?
After all, climate has long been in the DNA of the Conservative Party. David Cameron was joined at the hip with Tony Blair and Nick Clegg when it came to climate policy, it was Theresa May who legislated for Net Zero and it was Boris Johnson who applied rocket boosters to the whole business.
It would be foolish to assume that all her MPs are going to meekly support Kemi when many have for so long been Net Zero zealots.
Take, for example, the Conservative Environment Network, CEN, which was set up a few years ago specifically to promote the climate agenda and influence government policy. Its website still lists as one of its principles:
We believe that man-made climate change is a threat to our prosperity, and that the UK should end its contribution to climate change by mid-century through affordable, fair and market-based policies.
Its funding relies heavily on grants from the Green Blob of progressive foundations, such as the European Climate Foundation, Energy Transition Fund and the Samworth Foundation.
And it boasts that 51 currently sitting Tory MPs are signed-up members. Two of these, Sir Roger Gale and Simon Hoare even supported the Climate & Nature Bill last year, which would have legislated for virtually eliminating all the UK’s use of fossil fuels within

Does anyone believe a word that comes out of her mouth – or the mouth of any establishment politician for that matter.
Unfortunately my local map is also one of the CEN nutters. I have written to him about whether he will be backing his Party Leader in ending the ridiculous Net Zero debacle (by the way what’s Gross Zero?) but have yet to receive a reply – surprisingly (not).
Badenough was the Business Secretary that shut down Porth Talbot blast furnaces, do I think she’s suddenly seen the light and changed her views? Nope.
And even if she now believes net zero should be scrapped too many of her MPs are committed to it.
If they were back in government nothing would change, the Tories are authoritarian Lib Dims and not to be trusted.
I’m surprised that Kathryn Porter has aligned herself with the Tories when they have the CEN. She has laudable ideas when it comes to energy policy.

In particular in this respect, can we trust any politician? Politicians tend to claim whatever they believe voters will want to hear before an election and then do whatever suits them best afterwards. If Farage should become someone will real political power, he’s going to be much more interesting for people with very deep pockets who want Net Zero etc.
This is why I don’t believe a word she says about anything. Trust me she says, I am the new leader of the new party. Bollocks. She is as much a hollow clay person as Starmer. Both put into the leadership to whisper sweet words while the real leaders meet in the dark delivering government that no one voted for. There is a consensus across all parties of placemen who have little or no history or experience at the top of their parties who are now the leaders. Trust none of them.

The likes of Sir Roger Gale never were Conservatives He even was against Buy to Let and is an obvious charlatan. Boris and his friends on the Bright Blue Green Gilberts are incapable of doing the sums and will never change.
There is a modest place for renewable energy… perhaps residential rooftop solar cells. But where the climate activists have gone wrong has been to try and industrialise and institutionalise big, really big, solar and wind farms.
People can have solar panels on their roofs if they want but they must not feed into the grid and cause balancing problems.
What planet is this guy on?

I don’t think so. We all remember the promises made over 14 years; they were not just broken in the sense of being ignored, the opposite was done.
On tax, borrowing, defence and more the promises made were thrown away. On immigration the “tens of thousands” became a million unskilled, low paid (when working) with no obligation or intention of integrating into our culture.
The past decades have been disastrous from the Tories. On the EEC they promised to change it to suit us – they failed. On the EU they promised to get concessions – Merkel told Cameron to get stuffed. On immigration and all the other issues I mentioned they failed.
It is no use for that broken brand to now claim to be pro-Brexit (they didn’t deliver in full and only partially after 4 years) , nor to be against Neg Zero. Only five MPs voted against the Climate Change Act and Mrs May’s increase in target to 100% was not even debated in Parliament.
Sorry, I will never trust them. The evidence against them is too strong.

I know our gracious host is still a member and Badenoch put him in the Lords (probably the best political decision she will ever make) but how can anyone take them seriously?
The CONservatives are pawns to the British deep state headed by King Charles. I used to think of Charles as a simpleton climate fruit and nut case. I now realise that he and his deep state affiliates are a deadly threat to the people of this country through, inter alia, their determination to unilaterally pursue the ruinous, self-destructive policies of the climate change Net Zero agenda.
Charle’s dad wrote the foreword to Professor Ian Plimer’s book series explaining the ‘green’ liars nonsense for people like HRH. Sadly the Duke’s enquiring mind died out when he was murdered by the COVID19 vaccine mob.

The Conservatives are toast. Make way for Reform UK or, better still, Restore Britain led by Rupert Lowe and supported by the Heritage Party. All of these pledge to get rid of all climate related legislation.
It baffles me how the Tories are still at about 18% in the polls. Why does anybody listen to them. Kemi is gaslighting, they have a record of destruction as long as your arm. The Tories introduced net zero.
Imbeciles. Not only is Net Zero empirically unachievable in terms of available mineral resource and rate of production even if there were enough, but it also makes no difference. During 2020 due to lockdown human emissions fell by 7.4%(NASA) – equivalent to the whole of the EU and UK being Net Zero. Yet this fall was completely undetectable in the atmosphere. The Mauna Loa Observatory even measure a slightly higher uptick in CO2 for the year. Humans are, at best, only 4% of the planets CO2 annual output. Canute must be spinning in his grave.
This is why no-one with a functioning brain believes a word she says.
ALL the LibCONs on the back benches and particularly in the House of Frauds will nod along to anything she says ….. and if they got back into Government they would do the exact opposite.

During their 14 years in power, the conservatives demonstrated, time and time again, that they will promise conservative policies without the slightest intention of implementing them.
