The parents of Southport killer Axel Rudakubana should be deported to Rwanda, Robert Jenrick has said, after an inquiry found they had committed an “utterly unconscionable” “complete abandonment of responsibility”. The Telegraph has the story.
In a report published on Monday, a public inquiry partly blamed Axel Rudakubana’s mother and father for the murder of three children on July 29th 2024.
Sir Adrian Fulford, the inquiry Chairman, said the atrocity would not have happened if Alphonse Rudakubana and Laetitia Muzayire had done “what they morally ought to have done” in relation to their son.
Jenrick, Reform UK’s Treasury spokesman, said the couple had “behaved shamefully” and should face criminal charges.
Sir Adrian criticised the pair – who fled Rwanda after the fallout from the 1994 genocide and came to the UK in 2002 – for failing to set boundaries for Rudakubana, allowing weapons into their home and not reporting key warning signs before the attack.
Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, died after sustaining multiple stab wounds during the Southport attack.
Rudakubana, who was 17 at the time, also attempted to kill 10 others at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. He was sentenced to a minimum of 52 years in prison.
Speaking to the Daily T podcast, Jenrick said: “The family of Axel Rudakubana have behaved shamefully.
“I know as a parent it’s very tough when you face these situations. Of course, we can all understand that and have a degree of empathy, but these parents knew that Axel Rudakubana was forming an arsenal of weapons. They were fearful for their own lives, and yet they didn’t do anything about it, and that would have prevented these appalling attacks.”
In a two-volume report spanning more than 763 pages, Sir Adrian described the “complete abandonment of responsibility” by the killer’s mother and father as “utterly unconscionable”.
Calling for police to investigate the couple, the Reform MP added: “These individuals should face criminal charges and they should be deported. They came here for asylum. They enjoyed the hospitality [and] generosity of the UK, and they’ve abused that.”

Ever since “working with agencies and other partners” became the modus operandi of the public sector accountability has vanished. Just one ghastly policy of passing the buck remains.
Rudakubana Senior fled here after the Rwandan Genocide. Why? When the Genocide ended, he was not at risk. Did he participate in it? Is that why he was “not safe?”
Someone who was associated with a genocide (or participated?) would not be concerned about a son who was similarly inclined.

I think we all know that deportation of the parents is not going to happen. However, would it be a possibility under Reform?
I get the feeling that Farage has peaked. He’s made some questionable choices recently and his polling is declining. For example, he’s signing up boriswave arrivals as candidates for the local elections in may.
Rupert Lowe however is very vocal about bringing back the death penalty for scum like AR and mass deportation for all the illegal immigrants, few of whom are genuine asylum seekers.
Restore Britain. I don’t know if they’ll get anywhere but they’re polling between 4% and 6% already. Farage has started to copy what Rupert says, so he’s clearly a bit rattled.
That’s the way the wind is blowing.
But the next election is a long way away, plenty could happen before that – IMF bailout, anti-muslim riots, full-on northern Ireland style civil war, de facto segregation of communities hyper inflation…
With this lot in charge the worst is not only possible, but likely .

Unfortunately, Restore Britain wasn’t registered long enough ago that they have any candidates in the upcoming council or Devolved Nations Elections in May.
So for the moment, it’s either status quo, don’t vote, spoil your paper, or hold your nose and vote Reform.
