Britain’s first transgender judge has lodged an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights against the Supreme Court ruling on gender. The Express has more.
The UK’s highest court in April confirmed that the definition of a woman in equality law is based on biological sex following legal action by campaign group For Women Scotland.
But the retired judge Victoria McCloud is pushing for a rehearing of the case. She argues that the Supreme Court undermined her Article 6 rights to a fair trial after it refused to hear representation from her and did not hear evidence from any other trans individuals or groups.
Ms McCloud said: “There is no space for decision-making about us, without us.
“I intend to ensure that there will be no peace for the gender-critical ideological movement, the Labour Government appeasing it, or space in our schools, homes and workplaces for an ideology which causes harm, misery and oppression of a small and law-abiding minority in our formerly tolerant country.” …
The Trans Legal Clinic has launched a legal fundraiser for £150,000 to raise funds to support the case.

You Brits need to get out of the ECHR and start electing judges. Having judges appointed by a commission made up of lawyers & judges locks in the status quo & enforces orthodox policy views.

The way he has indulged his own fantasy and his failure to accept reality surely indicate that he was never fit to be made a judge in the first place.
Let me see if I understand this correctly.
The elected representatives of the people made a law specifying that equality of the sexes is based on biology. The Supreme Court confirms this. Then someone comes along who thinks that the elected representatives got it wrong. But instead of trying to get elected to Parliament, or trying to persuade said elected representatives to change the law, Victoria McCloud decides to appeal to a foreign court, a court in which the voters of our country have no voice, and over which they have no control, or influence.

It’s not really a foreign court but one established by an international organisation founded (among others) by Great Britain. Like all other member states, Britain has a judge in it which got elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from three proposed British candidates and British members of this assembly got elected/ appointed by the parliament of the UK.
There’s certainly a lot which can be criticized about the ECHR and considering its recent decisions, eg, about Switzerland not doing enough to protect Swiss citizens from climate change when there’s factually nothing anybody in Switzerland could do about this, it’s certainly sensible that the UK, or, for that matter, any other member, should withdraw from it but this particular line of attack makes no sense.

I sincerely wish I had never encountered more “harm and misery” than having to use the Men’s toilet because I’m a man and I congratulate these people that their lives are so entirely free of anything resembling a real problem that they apparently have nothing else to worry about. If that’s not paradise, I can’t be far from it.
Being gender critical is not an ideology. It a fact based on human biology. End of!

The problem is the position of power they hold. They shouldn’t be making law. That’s the job for the Crown in Parliament.
