Republic of Ireland to Introduce Midnight Curfew For Hospitality Venues

by Luke Perry
17 November 2021 1:26 PM

From Friday, restaurants, nightclubs, and pubs will have to shut their doors at midnight due to a state-enforced curfew intended to curb a rise in Covid cases. Other restrictions will also come into effect by the end of week, such as vaccine passport measures for cinemas and theatres. Sky News has the story.

So-called Covid passes (proof of vaccination), which are already required for indoor hospitality, will now also be needed to go to a cinema or theatre. Gyms and hair salons will continue to be exempt from this requirement.

The public will also be urged to work from home again unless it is absolutely necessary for them to go to the office or workplace.

The midnight curfew is being seen as a major blow to the hospitality sector in the run-up to the Christmas party season.

The industry had only just returned to some semblance of normality, with a previous curfew of 11.30pm removed at the end of October.

Reacting to the move, the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland, which represents around 4,000 Irish publicans, said: “the news that restricted trading hours are set to be reintroduced is a hugely disappointing development for the many late-night pubs and night clubs many of whom will now be forced to shut just three weeks after reopening.”

The body’s Chief Executive, Padraig Cribben, said: “the decision to introduce a new closing time of midnight will effectively close many late-night pubs and nightclubs.

“It will also seriously restrict other outlets at the most critical time of the year.”

Publicans are now calling for discontinued state financial supports for affected businesses to be reintroduced.

The Government has been forced to take action after infection rates soared in recent weeks.

Worth reading in full.

It’s almost as if the vaccine is rubbish and doesn’t do anything.

Gibraltar has the highest vaccination rate per capita in the world. It also currently has one of the highest infection rates in the world.

It is most curious that questions are not being asked about this.

Questions are being asked. I asked a question on Facebook about it. 30 day ban was my answer.

We’ll just have to pretend Gibraltar ceased to exist. Much like Sweden and Belarus, which amazingly haven’t yet been wiped off the face of the Earth!

So they are reintroducing restrictions on venues the unjabbed can’t get into.

And at the same time blaming the unjabbed for the rise in “cases” aka positive test results.

Yes, but they are not stupid – or at least, whoever gives them their orders isn’t stupid.

In my opinion they are deliberately creating a “50-50” issue, or 40-60, or 60-40. They want to piss a proportion of the population off – and, at the moment, not just the unvaccinated.

This is one way to push an envelope. The exact choice of issue isn’t critical when you control the media.

Extremely nasty developments are in the pipeline.

I’ve almost had to stop reading the news lately as reading the next move of these fucking imbeciles is giving me the rage. They are never – EVER – accountable for their stupid, fuck-witted ideas. There is ZERO science behind this, it is a few pen-pushers who have probably never done a proper job in their whole life making decisions which are ruining peoples’ lives. The Irish should rise up against this tyranny. The gloves need to come off now, this is bullshit, utter and complete bullshit. The Irish, like the Scottish, the Welsh and the rest of us, are being played like absolute fools.

Since early in 2020 many sceptics have claimed that ‘the people won’t stand for X, Y, Z’ but the past eighteen months plus have clearly demonstrated ‘the people’ will put up with pretty much anything and everything.

Esther Rantzen suggests voluntary euthanasia for vaccine resisters aged 65+

Source: Indy100.

“Esther Rantzen suggests those who refuse jab should choose ‘not to go to hospital’ and ‘take up space in ICU’.”

This is unlikely to be simply an unpleasant idiot shooting her mouth off. I don’t think she says anything that receives a lot of traction unless she gets paid for it.

She is involved with the charity The Silver Line, which works with Age UK.

Does she by any chance have connections in the care home sector? What kinds of thing does she advertise nowadays?

Answering my own question: yes, Esther Rantzen does seem to be involved in the care home sector. That link is for Radfield Home Care, where she is described as a Patron of Compassion in Dying.

Compassion in Dying’s website is here. Their list of trustees is here. They include Mark Jarman-Howe, who writes in self-description as follows:

“Chief Executive of the largest hospice in the East of England and has valuable insight into the UK hospice movement. He was a founding director and first Chairman of the Hospice Quality Partnership Ltd, and for three years was regional representative on the national Advisory Council for Hospice UK and therefore has a broad awareness of how health care works in the UK.”

Another trustee is Anushka Aubeelack:

Anushka is a regular panellist and contributor speaking on a variety of health issues. She has worked with the BBC, the Observer and contributed to the Huffington Post. Her experience working in critical care has led to her very vocal support for advance care planning and she is now a clinical ambassador for Compassion in Dying, helping to break the taboo on conversations about end of life care and death.

In other words, she does PR.

A third trustee is Jo Gibbons, who is connected with Tony Blair:

Jo has over 30 years experience in campaigning working across government, the voluntary, public and private sectors. Currently working in health communications at PwC, she has worked as a senior adviser for Tony Blair in Downing Street and moved with the former Prime Minister after he left office as his Director of Corporate Affairs.

“The Government has been forced to take action after infection rates soared in recent weeks.”

I love this line which has been trotted out by the MSM since day 1 of this shitshow. Forced to take action? Nobody is forcing them to do anything. It’s a political decision. How the MSM have been allowed to get away with this banality without ever questioning the absurd logic behind some of these restrictions is beyond my comprehension. Curfews…only being allowed to order alcohol with food…table service only…wearing a mask only when standing up or moving around in a pub…I mean, seriously, for the love of f***ing God, can nobody from the BBC, Sky, Channel 4, ITV and all the national newspapers see how utterly bollocking ludicrous this all is? The mind f***ing boggles that everyone just shrugs and accepts it. “Oh well, it is what it is”.

Joe Rogan said his doctor, Pierre Kory, is part of a group that has used Ivermectin to quietly treat 200 Members of U.S. Congress for COVID19. Dr Simone Gold, from America’s Frontline Doctors, told that she has prescribed treatments for Congress. She still believes in her oath, but she is vocal saying she has been contacted by many in DC.
