The first one to announce a winter lockdown is Holland, where bars, restaurants and non-essential shops will be ordered to close at 7pm for at least three weeks starting tomorrow. The Telegraph has more.
People will be urged to work from home as much as possible, and no audiences will be allowed at sporting events in the coming weeks. Schools, theatres and cinemas would remain open.
Caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s cabinet will take a final decision later on Friday, and will announce the new measures during a televised press conference scheduled for 6pm GMT.
New coronavirus infections in the country of 17.5 million have increased rapidly after social distancing measures were dropped late September and hit a record of around 16,300 in 24 hours on Thursday.
The new wave of infections has put pressure on hospitals throughout the country, forcing them to scale back regular care again to treat Covid patients.
To contain the outbreak, the government’s pandemic advisory panel on Thursday recommended imposing a partial lockdown and to limit entrance to public places to people who have been fully vaccinated or have recently recovered from a coronavirus infection.
A new lockdown would mean a drastic turn in policy for the Dutch government, which until last month thought that a relatively high vaccination rate would mean it could further ease measures towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Austria is set to impose a lockdown on the unvaccinated. Forbes has more.
Due to record Covid case counts and crowded intensive care units, Austria is expecting to declare nationwide lockdown of unvaccinated people, in what would be the broadest restrictions that any country has yet placed on those who have opted not to get the jab.
A lockdown is “probably inevitable”, Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said in a statement on Thursday.
It would follow an incremental government plan set in place in September, which states that a lockdown of unvaccinated Austrians must be implemented when 30% of ICU beds are occupied by Covid patients.
The current level is 20% and increasing fast, according to Reuters.
Unvaccinated people will not be allowed to leave their homes unless they are “going to work, shopping (for essentials), [or] stretching one’s legs”, Schallenberg said.
Upper Austria, the country’s third largest state, will begin a lockdown of the unvaccinated Monday, provided it receives legal confirmation from the Federal Government, Gov. Thomas Stelzer said in a statement.
Austria’s ministry of health says 65% of its population has been vaccinated as of Thursday, the second-lowest figure in Western Europe following the small country of Liechtenstein, according to Reuters.

1) unvaccinated does not automatically mean contagious – you have to have it to spread it
2) what is trying to be achieved here in terms of this batty quarantining of the (likely to be) healthy if they can still go to work, shop and exercise?

If nothing else the repeated exercise of performing something that has no effect( its been almost 2 years now) except creating damage to people and economies demonstrates how completely worthless Governments across the western world are.

Let’s have a look where we are: international travel restrictions remain in place, in many countries there are restrictions for ‘The Unvaccinated’, the 3rd booster is being pushed, ‘Vaccine Passes’ have been issued and people are using them. Looks like these passes will remain valid only if you take the latest jabs.
A lot of people know this is all a scam, but those running it have not been affected and are indeed, to this very day, collecting their salaries and profits from the misery they have inflicted on millions.
As has been said from the beginning this has nothing to do with a new virus but all to to with control of the populace.
None of this is necessary when effective early treatment is available. Dr Pierre Kory and so many other doctors are treating Covid early, successfully. Why is it not a standard of care throughout Europe? Why are governments intentionally destroying small businesses, their economies and in general, people’s lives?

Mean while in one part of Spain the president of the Galician region is looking at banning those who are not vaxxed from Hospitals and “events” whilst the latter will not matter so much the former idea is criminal.

Yesterday he tweeted that a quarter of those in hospital who are being treated for Covid are not vaccinated.However, that means that 75% of Covid patients have been vaccinated.
Earlier this year he wanted all of the living in Galicia to be forcibly vaccinated . He could not implement that because the highest Spanish court deemed it unconstitutional.
It’s utter madness. The data has long been in that lockdowns don’t work but are not neutral either – they trash economies, livelihoods, healthcare provision, education etc while providing no benefits except to select individuals who can rake off money.
Governments believe we are still all to stupid to notice that.
If it’s any consolation, the number of people that they can keep conning must inexorably diminish. There will always be some lockdown fanatics who will remain impervious to facts and reason. But there is an appreciable minority who ‘believe’ the propaganda for no other reason than that propaganda is effective, and they have been kept in the dark about the facts. No one who has been once enlightened as to the true state of things can ever become captive to that government narrative again: they will know how to see through it. And no one who was always able to see through it will be deceived.
And thus there will always be an attrition. Of course, once the narrative is a bust then they will bring out another one on another topic, a new con.

Give them time. This ‘lockdown lite’ will achieve nothing, particularly if they roll out boosters – a rise in vaccination is followed by a rise in positive cases. After another, harsher lockdown, they will be able to bring in the 2g nassi pass.
The newspapers are speaking of the expansion of the nassi pass “announced” last week, to keep the unvaxxed out of non-essential shops and the workplace and no longer allow for a negative test. It was not “announced”, the topic was raised by the caretaker government, which was told by parliament there was no appetite for it. There is of course one way to stop all this madness. If people stopped getting tested for Covid then the authorities would not be able to point to case numbers as an excuse for lockdown. If you have symptoms of Covid then isolate at home until you are better (as you should do anyway if you have cold or flu symptoms as a common courtesy to others) but do not get a test.

As things currently stand, my understanding is that, in a domestic setting, if you claim you are medically exempt, that is legally binding. I think that is the case in Wales and Scotland as well. I am trying to get hold of the doctor in my GP surgery who, I suspect, might be half sensible, to grant my family and me a full medical exemption. My argument is slightly circular in that we won’t be having the vaccine because our daughter suffered a catastrophic autoimmune vaccine injury and the stress of the coercion, and vaccine mandates, is causing my wife and me catastrophic levels of debilitating anxiety. It will be quite an interesting test of how independent the medical profession is…

It might be worth reviewing the legal background, but it appears that there is no need for a third party to ‘grant’ exemption, just as it was re not using “face covers”. The reasons you explain might be useful background, but you should be able to declare your own decision, not to have it approved by another. It is not a licensing scheme.
As to whether your normal surgery is independent, it looks as if you already know the answer to that at present.

who did you use for the antibody test? I too got tested positive and got sent an antibody test, only having it come showing negative as it was probably done too early.
The official Pfizer/etc drug administration notes explicitly state that taking the drugs is (or should be) purely voluntary. Show it to your employer’s legal beagles and demand they take full liability for adverse consequences should they require you to take the drug.
