It's 'whack-a-mole' time as alarmists revive classic climate tropes such as ice-free Arctic summers, starving Polar bears and the disappearing Great Barrier Reef, none of which are true.
Polar bears often feature in climate fearmongering, but with overall numbers up, the bears that 'vanished' from one area, triggering alarm, probably just migrated elsewhere, a scientist has said.
Wild Isles, the latest round of BBC green agitprop narrated by Sir David Attenborough, has arrived. It could be called 'Wild Claims', according to Daily Sceptic Environment Editor Chris Morrison.
"The polar-bear capital of the world is simply getting too warm for polar bears," the BBC claimed recently. But this is not true, says polar bear expert Susan Crockford.
In the latest alarmist cherry-picking, David Attenborough claims the demise of a small colony of penguins is the "canary in the coalmine" for climate change, but fails to note the discovery of a new colony 1.5m strong.
Attenborough's doom-laden Frozen Planet II picked a group of islands lapped by a warm and salty current to push the Arctic sea ice loss narrative. The good news is the polar bears are thriving.
