Government Has Just Declared War on Free Speech

The UK COVID-19 Public Inquiry has launched a consultation on its terms of reference, which will close on April 7th. Daily Sceptic readers are encouraged to respond with questions that ought to be included.
What kind of 'expertise' is it that focuses on one hazard to the exclusion of all others, and fails to foresee the numerous harms that the supposed 'solution' will cause?
A new study reviews 11 cost-benefit analyses of lockdown, all of which find that the policy did more harm than good. Results “strongly suggest that lockdowns do not have a favorable cost-benefit balance”.
Documents obtained via an FOI request show that, in March/April of 2020, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs did a cost-benefit analysis of lockdown. It concluded that the costs far outweighed the benefits.
"Did the Government and its scientific advisors implement public health measures that were proportionate to the risk?" asks Graham Stringer MP, co-chair of the new Pandemic All-Party Parliamentary Group.
In a new paper, the economic consultant L. Jan Reid has attempted a cost-benefit analysis of lockdown in the United States. He concludes that the “cost of the lockdowns was up to ten times greater than the benefits”.
It’s now more than a year since the first lockdown began, and the Government still hasn’t published a cost-benefit analysis. The evidence we do have suggests the costs almost certainly outweighed the benefits.
