Quaker Political Interference Has Got Out of Control
12 April 2025
When global sea ice dropped sharply 10 years ago, there was no end of stories of the coming climate catastrophe. But the more recent dramatic recovery in sea ice has gone strangely unmentioned and ignored.
Attenborough's doom-laden Frozen Planet II picked a group of islands lapped by a warm and salty current to push the Arctic sea ice loss narrative. The good news is the polar bears are thriving.
The record temperatures yesterday were mainly found at airports. Using a change of wind direction to argue that the climate is undergoing long-term change primarily caused by humans is unscientific nonsense-on-stilts.
The Arctic is warming, but the reasons for that are linked to the rise and fall of decades-long ocean temperature oscillations. There's no sign of the alarmist 'tipping point' pushed by the BBC's Justin Rowlatt.
The international news agency Reuters has 'fact-checked' a recent Daily Sceptic article on the progress of Arctic sea ice and found it “misleading”, despite not being able to point to a single incorrect fact.
Whisper it quietly, but Arctic ice is making a comeback. The coverage is now very close to the 1991-2020 average, well above a 2012 low point and higher than 2020. No sign of an alarmist catastrophe here.
