I'm a Scot going to London on a wee trip end of October...I know the mask mandate doesn't apply (yippee!) but what's the script with vaccine passports? Is it clubs only (or at all?) I haven't been vaccinated and want to know what limitations that might bring to the trip...
Thanks!
At the moment it's only nightclubs. And they havent actually made it clear how thats going to work/enforced.
Well and football matches but the games I've been to the passport checks were some unintersted steward checking that you had some kind of piece of paper that they didn't look out.
Wouldnt be suprised if it was similar at nightclubs when the bullshit starts.
I believe it's only been confirmed for clubs but the rather vague phrase 'crowded indoor spaces' is being bandied around a bit. We are, of course, deliberately being kept in the dark. 'Crowded indoor spaces' could apply to literally anything from pubs to shops. I very much doubt we'll be barred from shops at the end of the month, but give it time.
Hope it works out well. If the worst comes to the worst, you could declare that you don't consent, and are exempt. There was some commentary on this site along those lines to do with the event at Wentworth the other day. They need to avoid the threat of legal action for things like discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 etc. That said, you might want to take your trade away from certain organisations that try that on.
I'd self-exempt yourself. Get a plastic card complete with barcode from Vax Control Group stating clearly that the card holder 'must not be vaccinated'. Or if you carry a smartphone get an electronic version.
