I'm going abroad in a couple of weeks time to an Amber list country so I have to do the pre departure lft and day 2 PCR. I don't agree with travel testing and I think that mass testing in general is just driving the hysteria so this will be the first time I've taken any covid test. What happens if you don't swab the LFT? Does it come up as a failed test or will it just show negative? Likewise the PCR? Has anyone sent off the PCR without have done it and had a negative result returned, or even just binned it after using the serial for the locator form?
Suspect (although havent checked) as long as the pH is roughly correct for an LFT it'll not show as invalid. So saliva should do.
Get some free ones from the chemist and play around at home.
Inbound PCR i just do a half arsed cheek rub and bung it in the tube. All negative (and valid) so far.
Many amber countries dont need a pre-departure to get in. Thats just the UK coming back.
