I was trying to find out more details about the guy from Devonport. Because it sure sounds like a false positive to me unless he has full blown pneumonia like symptoms.  The prevalence would be so low in NZ if they only used a RT/PCR test to establish a COVID case then the probability of a false positive would be in the > 99.99% range.

Its obvious that Jacinta and the ex union lawyer who is Mister of Health have not thought this through at all. Is NZ going to go full North Korea forever? Except for those with money of course. With NZ$3K to just enter the country.

Because it does not matter how long the lockdowns and isolation lasts, or even if they vaccinated every last person in the country (including the sheep), its 100% guaranteed (because of medical science) that at some future date NZ will have exactly the same SARs Cov2 endemic infection rate as every other country in the world.  Around 40%.  In 3 years time, 5 years time, or 30 years time. Its going to happen. Only difference is how much damage they are willing  to inflict on the people and the country.

So all these lockdown, isolation, etc for NZ are utterly futile. The difference between people like Jacinta and King Canute is that King Canute actually knew that he could not control nature.

So are you Bay of Islands area or further north? I hear its a really beautiful part of the country.

Even more frightening is the possibility that they have thought this through.

Sorry Ron-knee. This is a typical despairing argument with family in NZ. Edited version.

Me: Yes, its a virus it will get about no matter how much you impose martial law, masks, or pretend that these experimental vaccines stop the virus. They don't.

Hmm, wintry weather ... And a flu like virus.

F: No, they don’t, but it all helps to cut down the casualty rate.

Me: Let me understand you correctly, you are quite happy with Lockdown, a term that is used in prisons to Lock Down prisoners, which when extended to a nation becomes the basis for light martial law or even becomes martial law as in Australia, thinking it will protect you from a mild virus, akin to a bad flu.

The powers that be are starting to realise here that lockdown achieved nothing apart from destroying the social and economic foundations for health, creating a hospital and health crisis and ended up killing people through undiagnosed illnesses which could gave been prevented had lockdown not occured.

The casualty rate would be lower by only hospitalising actual infected people and treating them with Proper Therapeutic treatment. None of what has been attempted has reduced the Infected Fatality Rate. In fact you will find that the casualty rate has been overstated by a couple of magnitudes.

F: Yes, we are happy with a lockdown and the reason it didn’t work there is because of the Mickey Mouse way they disorganised it. The infected people are being isolated and hospitalised, but first you have to find them, then you can ease the lockdown.

Re the therapeutic treatments. Load of gobbly de gook. The one I’ve seen here is Vitamin D and Ivermectin. Ivermectin is a worm drench for cattle, sheep and goats, and that’s going to stop you from getting covid? Yeah Right!

Me: Good grief! Happy with lockdown and hunting down people with a flu, as if they're a terrorist.Well that explains why some accept totalitarian regimes so easily. (Note: ivermectin info here)

F: not happy with lockdown, but it is a necessity. Hunting down people who may be infected? Yes, they are terrorists if they spread it around. Get them out of circulation ASAP. The rest of the world can laugh all it likes but we are doing what’s best for us. We’ve had a gutsful of comments from other countries and people. So far as I’m concerned you can all f*ck off

Etc

Total insanity...

Thats going to be many many thousand of people who have to self isolate for 14 days (and everyone who lives in the same house it seems) for an actual infection risk of zero.  Zero.

This is pure Cargo Cult Science by this stage.

he who rides a tiger never can dismount...

that goes for the country as well as for the pm.

with the parliament suspended there is nobody to question her.

and that is what she fears, people starting to get their senses back and starting to ask questions.

inconvenient questions with inconvenient answers.

is is about time the tiger got to eat its rider.
