We all know about these. And my wife is having to fly soon.

She suffers from asthma.Has done since she was a child.

Question is that considered a cough or not? Has any one else recently flown, who has got asthma, how did you fill out the form?

Well if she wants to fly, the correct answer is no.

@encierro If it were me I'd say read it in the context that it is intended, i.e in light of Covid.  So although the form is badly worded and asks whether you have a cough or shortness of breath without any context you know that it is not referring to asthma but to Covid.  She knows her symptoms are the usual ones she is used to from asthma so she can answer 'no', she doesn't have a cough/shortness or breath (that could be ascribed to Covid).

Obviously I am not a medical expert nor a lawyer so my opinion ultimately counts for nothing, of course 🙁

In the paranoid society today they aren't interested in the *cause* of symptoms, merely the symptoms.

Yes means they're too scared to take you.

It shows how pointless the forms are - everyone knows full well they have to answer no even if the have symptoms if they want to go anywhere.

Its an arse-covering exercise for their insurance.

The last 4 flights ive been on have had the usual people coughing, spluttering and sneezing, all of whom would have had to answer no previously to be allowed on the aircraft.

Thought I would update this.

Wife went this am for a test. Result was given within mins rather than the 2 hours she was instantly told. Obviously she past. The locations where this was done was very busy with others wanting a test. After the swapping was done she had to cough a fair bit. The nurse reorganised this as asthma cough.

This pm was her flight. All the docs were in order and she has now land. No coughing from her. The plane was full, with unruly children on the opposite side of the aisle.

Thanks everyone who responded.

Well a rapid test is 20 mins not 2 hours (thats pcr. usually longer).

That said my Greek rapid tests ive had the results within 2 minutes which means even if i was positive its unlikely the test would have shown as they didn't want long enough for it to develop.

The who pre-travel testing thing is a nonsense.
