Recent reports have shown that Government officials and advisers are preparing to implement a two-week ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown, which would be introduced shortly after Christmas. Under the proposed guidelines, the ‘circuit-breaker’ lockdown will ban indoor mixing, forcing hospitality venues to seat customers in outdoor spaces only. The Independent has more.

The Times reported that draft regulations were being prepared which would ban meeting others indoors except for work purposes, and that pubs and restaurants would be limited to outdoor service only.
Meanwhile, the Financial Times reported that Boris Johnson was presented with a number of options on Friday under a so-called ‘Plan C’, ranging from “mild guidance to nudge people, right through to lockdown”.
The newspaper quoted allies of the Prime Minister who claimed Johnson still wanted to go down the guidance route, but that he also had to be realistic about the threat of Omicron.
Leaked minutes from the SAGE, seen by the BBC, reportedly said scientists had told ministers that tougher measures need to be brought in “very soon”.
The BBC reported that the advisers had recommended moving to restrictions seen in step one and two of the easing of lockdown restrictions in the spring. These included a ban on indoor mixing and indoor hospitality. They also reportedly warned against delaying further interventions until 2022.
The U.K. reported more than 90,000 new Covid cases in another record daily total on Friday.
A Government Spokesperson said: “The Government will continue to look closely at all the emerging data and we’ll keep our measures under review as we learn more about this variant.”

Said the unmasked bar staff. Pointing to the party next to me unmasked and being served by other staff, they were asked to put on masks which they obediently did, after ordering unmasked, then spent the next 19 minutes staring,actually, staring, at me. The irony is that I previously spent an hour in another branch of the same brewers pubs without issue, along with at least 30 percent unmasked fellow drinkers. Security called and asked to leave. On a personal note, I was out and about all day using public transport, shops, restaurants, and never once put on my mask or was asked about it. Sadly 99.9% of the population were masked.
I know the answer as a sceptic, but why are cases ‘surging’ when compliance is so high? Also we know people are imposing their own restrictions just to be ‘safe’. These ‘measures’ do sweet FA to stop the virus spreading. It is completely with out logic, and yet here we are again, I would bet my bottom dollar on a lockdown here too. Thanks for your post. I’ve been writing to the CEO of my local NHS Trust threatening legal action to recover the cost of healthcare because I chose to go privately when timely NHS treatment was not forthcoming. She tried to ignore me, but then responded within 4 days when I sent her another letter which mentioned the National Audit Office 740,000 missed diagnoses. That seemed to get her attention. I will be exploring that further and the reasons for the missing risk/impact assessments next. I don’t expect to get a penny back, but I would like them to consider the impact of their actions on our Health Service.

How about the young boy that was filmed by a Swiss tourist using knotted bedsheets to climb from an upper story window in Buckingham Palace in the summer of 2015. In the footage this person definitely looked to be a young male.
The footage showed the youth climb about halfway down and then lose his grip on the bedsheets and fall the rest of the way to the ground.
This fall would have almost certainly injured him.
When the London police were asked about it they simply said they had got no reports about it. Seemingly, in this case video footage posted online was not enough to bring about an investigation into a possible serious crime of false imprisonment or child neglect having occurred.
When Buckingham Palace was asked about it, they did the “No comment” stunt.

All “citizens” in ancient Athens could vote. Though, the definition of “citizen” at that time was understood by the Athenians as being different than it is today.
To be classed as a citizen in ancient Athens you had to be male, you had to have been born to two Athenian parents, and you had to be over eighteen years old.
But, most importantly, you had to have completed military training and service.
Women, slaves, metics (foreigners living in an ancient Athens who had some of the privileges of citizenship) and children under the age of 20 without military training or service were not allowed to become citizens.
Note for instance that an idiot that could not complete his military training did not become a citizen. Thus, idiots could not vote.
So, it’s not incorrect to say that only an elite had the vote in ancient Athens.

You are spot on and this is already a reality in terms of differential travel (arrival) rules for the ‘vaccinated’ and ‘unvaccinated’. What is even worse is that there is a further discrimination between those who are not ‘vaccinated through medical exemptions and those others who have chosen, as is their inalienable right, to not be ‘vaccinated’. So at the end of the day the latter are punished for having the foresight and freethinking of not joining the experimental gene therapy trial based on their assessment of the risk/benefit ratio.
