Britain’s first halal-only student accommodation is coming to Dundee, offering Muslim students a dedicated place to live while they study at the city’s universities. The Mailhas the story:
Rose House has 20 rooms exclusively for male students, with alcohol banned and only halal food permitted on site.
The accommodation, the first of its kind, is “designed” for Muslim students – although by law non-Muslims can also sign up.
The 18th-Century building was bought by ILM Student Halls last year and will open its doors in the autumn.
Promotional material on its website shows a prayer room, gym, massage chairs and games room.
Staff say most rooms have already been taken, with only nine still available.
However, the project has sparked outrage, with critics saying it amounts to “segregation”. …
Priced from £165 per week, ILM pledges “premium facilities with no shared-flat surprises, no hidden charges and a supportive community”.
The website says halal-only accommodation is “something we as Muslims require in our life to make sure that we connect to our religion and please Allah”.
Guidelines state that residents must respect prayer times, spiritual spaces and maintain an “alcohol-free environment”, with pork “strictly prohibited”.
Tenants must get permission to have “overnight guests” and participate in “community meetings” when asked.
The halls are designed for students at both Dundee and Abertay universities, although these are not connected with the privately-operated venture.

Talking about Halal, we eat delicious Arab spiced lamb kebabs from Lidl. Normally I won’t touch halal because of the cruelty involved in this primitive practice but these are made with New Zealand lamb. The NZ slaughter houses have found a way to allow normal stunning which satisfies the RoPers by having one of their goons bless the unfortunate animal before he does the throat cutting after it is unconscious. There is no reason why this should not be law in this country as this nasty business is banned in other European countries.
I wonder how often supermarkets present halal meat without the customer being aware of this. I have a feeling that Sainsbury’s is one such culprit. Fortunately we have a decent butcher from whom we buy all of our meat.

Presumably this is “British values, social cohesion, integration and tolerance” in action?
Funnily enough, it looks the exact opposite to me. It looks like segregation, intolerance, a rejection of British values and therefore a breakdown in social cohesion.

How numbers are presented matters. I suppose 11/20 can technically be referred to as ‘most’, being (just about) more than half, but it’s a stretch. ‘Only nine still available’ is overkill. Perhaps the prevalence of Islamists on campus isn’t as bad as all that, though this free publicity might attract some more.

By law non-Muslims can sign up, provided they’re prepared to put up with a permanent smell of curry and people wailing five times a day, but they won’t be offered a place.

I’m not outraged. It’s a private venture, presume they pay for it, no one is forced to. I am outraged that we send too many people to uni and the “loans” are mainly no repaid, I am outraged that the tax payer is paying for woke indoctrination centres, I am outraged that generations of politicians and many voters have encouraged these people to come AND TO KEEP THEIR OWN CULTURE. But there’s a market for this and someone is catering to it. It’s inevitable. We know many don’t want to integrate, might as well have it out in the open and what’s more they are not then being a pain in the arse sharing with non Muslims.

Is it lawful for a University to decide what students can eat or drink and is it lawful to discriminate between different halls. If so why.
