“Labour’s Net Zero drive risks leaving Britons with blackouts and soaring energy bills, leaked report warns”

Why does GB News call it “Labour’s Net Zero”.

The Climate Change Act was passed with only five opponents in the HoC. The Tory “opposition” of the time supported it as did the several Tory administrations over 14 years in office.

It was a Tory PM who increased the target saving to 100% of CO2. How come GB News blamed only one of the old parties when all of them are responsible.

Because they own it. When you become captain of the ship, you are entirely responsible for everything on board and everything that happens. The last captain no longer is.

When a new CEO of a company takes over he is responsible for everything, past, present and to come. The last CEO isn’t.

“The buck stops here.”

Labour – with their huge majority – could easily have repealed the Climate Change Act on and the idiocy attached, but they didn’t they intensified it.

Not according to plenty of people on here. If he’s a white man at the helm and found to be woke/corrupt/incompetent he’s beyond reproach and the finger of blame must always be pointed at women in a subordinate role, because ‘feminisation’. That’s the general consensus of the DS Boys’ Club. ”The buck stops here”..until it doesn’t.

It’s ‘Labour’s Net Zero drive…’

Perhaps the other lot didn’t drive it as hard?

They did in the end, and that decision by May was not reversed by any of the three “Conservative” PMs who followed her.

Andy Burnham is considering making voting mandatory

More forcing people to do things. People in power can’t help themselves. They can’t resist the power to force people to do things. It’s like a compulsion.

Why bother with persuasion when you can resort to force

Exactly! Never mind mandatory voting (which would be impossible to police) just make it law, if you do vote, you have to do so in person! No postal or online voting except for genuine physical restrictions and an officer in every voting station to check for illegal forced voting, one person one Booth end of!

I broadly agree – have my up-vote.

Remote voting needs to be tightened up a lot but not banned. Many people in care homes still wish to vote but getting to the polling place can be too difficult. That said, if a number of voters apply for remote or proxy voting from the same household then that household should be investigated: Are all these people really unable to attend (why)? Are they really on holiday away on business (prove it)? There needs to be a higher level of voter authentication for remote voting than for voting in person.

Indeed! I did mention genuine physical restrictions

If they’re going to make voting mandatory there had better be an option for ‘None of the above’. And that option ought to have teeth: If it gets a majority of the vote then the election is void and must be re-run with none of the above allowed to stand.

““Andy Burnham twice refuses to say he trusts Donald Trump””That’s very funny. President Trump is the leader of a foreign state. What’s more important is who exactly trusts the blow in bloke from Manchester.
