Actually, it is the title of a bizarre new campaign launched by the obscure Labour backbench MP Samantha Niblett, riffing upon a low-budget 1973 comedy film, No Sex Please, We’re British!, in which Ronnie Corbett plays a bank clerk who sends off for a mail-order calculator but receives a package of illegal hardcore Swiss pornography by mistake. Niblett says she wants to make 2026 “the Summer of Sex” and banish previous national reticence to talk about sensual matters by flooding Westminster with a large display of novelty dildos provided by the sex-aid company LoveHoney. Isn’t one Black Rod in the building already enough?
Niblett proclaims this is all about the entire country “taking control of our patriotism, about taking control of our Britishness and not feeling ashamed” of our genitalia. Niblett certainly isn’t “ashamed” of her own non-private parts, telling reporters she began using pornography aged 10, today being a particular fan of the adult website MakeLoveNotPorn, which is full of “messy” content that “helps you cum”. One thing is surely true and that is that if you take away porn then there will almost certainly be an increase in sex crimes. The omnipotent busy bodies are determined to make it as difficult as possible for the potential rapists to have a w..k and expect them all to put their photo on sex sites or give them their credit card details. They are insistent they must “protect the children”, but Rotherham Oxford, Telford etc etc shows us that is not what they are motivated by at all.
I’d say it’s more likely porn usage is linked to sex crimes, as well as how it normalizes weird behaviours that never used to be mainstream, such as choking during sex. There’s much chatter about the use of porn by these migrants that arrive and how they then view white females as a result. So there is the argument that porn can increase sex crimes, just based on stuff I’ve read, I’ve no supporting evidence for that theory. It probably depends very much on the individual.

For the record, I’m not one of these ”ban all porn” people. As a realist, I don’t see how that would be remotely feasible anyway.
