Jaguar Land Rover Announces Mass Management Redundancies: 500 Jobs Face Axe After Woke Rebrand

by Will Jones
17 July 2025 11:08 AM

Jaguar Land Rover has announced mass management redundancies, with 500 UK jobs facing the axe after its woke rebrand – but the company insists it is just “normal business practice”. The Mail has more.

The car maker said 500 managerial jobs would be cut, saying it would offer voluntary redundancies.

It insists the job losses will not go over 1.5% of its British workforce, describing the move as “normal business practice” in a statement.

The car giant previously warned that tariffs on British made motors being sold to the US would have a direct hit on its profits.

This comes after the company faced widespread criticism over its controversial rebrand.

The company last year accelerated its plans to shift to electric vehicles with a new advertisement featuring brightly dressed models but no cars. The group also abandoned its iconic ‘growler’ cat badge, replacing it with a curved geometric J and L symbol.

Critics of the radical rebrand – including Nigel Farage and Elon Musk – accused the carmakers of abandoning their ‘jag-man’ heritage.

JLR sales have slid sharply over the past three months after a temporary pause in exports to the US and a pause in production of all Jaguar models for a year.

The Tata-owned car maker revealed that retail sales slid by 15.1% to 94,420 units over the three months to June. Meanwhile, wholesale sales dropped by 10.7% to 87,286 units compared with a year earlier.

The company said the significant fall in sales was partly driven by the pause in shipments to the US in April after President Trump’s administration introduced new tariff plans.

A spokeswoman said: “As part of normal business practice, we regularly offer eligible employees the opportunity to leave JLR through limited voluntary redundancy programmes.” …

Amid ongoing backlash over the dramatic shift, Jaguar’s sales in Europe have nosedived, dropping a staggering 97.5% as the company navigates one of the most ambitious transformations in its history.

According to figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (AECA), the company registered just 49 new vehicles in April 2025 compared to 1,961 units sold in the same month last year.

The British car marque has insisted the reason for the freefall in sales is not because of a lack of support or an image overhaul, but because it suspended production of all cars in November as part of a 12-month ‘fire break’ period for dealers and customers to prepare for its electric rebrand.

Defending the news, the firm said it was “pointless” to compare figures for 2024 and 2025, as “Jaguar is not currently on sale in the UK” while it goes through its “sunset period” of radical change.

The “management” of Jaguar Land Rover seems to be going for full alignment with the aims and policies of clown-world.

*Off-topic* How stupid is this? Lowering the voting age to 16 years old? I agree, this screams desperation. Plus, how many 16yr olds even pay taxes? If anything it should be increased, say, to 21 years old.

”This move reeks of desperation.

Labour knows just how unpopular this government is and is now trying to pad their support by lowering the voting age.

Not only is it short-sighted, it could potentially backfire on the political establishment.

Still, I don’t welcome this move.”

The telling bit is that the certainly don’t plan to lower the minium age for consumption of alcoholic drinks as they’re – lightly put – absolutely not sure that their 16-year-old pupils would act as desired in this case.

Also tellingly, the age in which you can get married rose from 16yrs to 18yrs old in recent years, yet they lower the voting age? So adolescents are deemed emotionally mature enough to vote now but not marry or do much else? Transparent as hell;

”At 16
You cannot..

Marry.
Go to war.
Drive.
Buy alcohol.
Buy cigarettes.
Do the lottery.
Get a tattoo.
Be on a Jury.
View or buy an adult 18+ film.
Get a boob job.
Get a full time job without an apprenticeship or trainee scheme.

UTTER INSANITY FROM @UKLabour”

It is transparent: They’re by-and-large convinced that pupils will vote as their teachers have told them they must for the sake of their own lives (“global boiling” etc) for years on end. But not with any of the other, more personal things.

Exactly. This is the inevitable pay-off for enduring all those years of indoctrination. Hopefully most 16yr olds will have wise parents who can help detox their kids of the woke crapola brainwashed into them and keep them on the straight and narrow, guiding them to a place of common sense. However, this may well be an uphill battle if your kids go on to higher education, where said indoctrination of government-pushed crapola only intensifies.
Surely most kids would be more influenced by their parents than teachers, though? I certainly hope so.

I can smell the desperation in the air. Having alienated nearly every older voter it’s a last ditch effort to grab some gullible youngsters.

I think anyone who believes that 16 year olds are so enamoured of their teachers that they’ll blindly do what they tell them, either hasn’t been in a school lately or is, quite simply, deluded.

I don’t think I wrote anything about someone being enarmoured with someone else, only that the people who use schools to propagandize their political causes are very likely convinced that their propaganda works and are thus keen on extending the franchise to pupils who didn’t yet have a chance to gain experience in the world outside of school.

You missed out go to prison.

A poll has shown that around half do not want the vote and a lot of them will not bother. On voting intentions Labour was ahead but combining Tory and Reform put them level so added all together it does not look like the panacea to their cratering support Two Tier & Co think it is. And in their clown world – Two Tier yesterday in PMQs said the economy was thriving as inflation hits an 18mth high, unemployment has risen and growth dropped and worryingly said they have only just got started – they believe we have a vibrant democracy. This after a low turnout in the last election given people were averse to supporting the Uniparty and Reform were just getting underway.

Well the way things are going even the young will realise what an utterly useless bunch the uniparty are. I see it’s beginning to kick off in Epping. Any youngster who thinks voting for a party that makes them unsafe on the streets, gives priority to immigrants and generally could not care less about the welfare of the people of the UK deserve what’s clearly coming down the road.

This eerily reminds me of this story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northvolt

Short version: Acquire gadzillions in ‘Green’ state subsidies, trouser large paye cheques, let the company go bankrupt as soon as something more serious would really have needed to happen.

I think the management were correct in referring to a ‘sunset period’ as the company is fading away in a sea of stupidity and wokeness. The excellent Ben Leo on GBN pointed out that as the Defender is made in Slovakia because manufacturing in the UK is expensive it is not covered by the UK deal with the US so has a high tariff for US imports.

I cannot quite believe that the company used the expression “sunset period”. Doesn’t sound very optimistic or forward-looking, does it?

Jaguar stopped making proper Jags years ago. Fake Ford ones weren’t good. Now they will be gone.

Just looking at the photo does make me realise what a bunch of idiots have signed up to this madness. How anyone could think that this kind of deranged idiocy would sell cars needs to be put in a psychiatric ward and kept far away from decent people forever.

Proof that it wasn’t a ‘rebrand’…..
…but a debrand…..and it has been successful. 😢

I just won £150 on the Premium Bonds. In a couple of months that will be enough to buy the whole Jaguar/Landrover company out of bankruptcy
