What isn’t lost on me is the sheer hypocrisy at play, as well. I’ve no reason to doubt that Robins managed to climb the ranks and attain the title of Chief Constable all due to merit because he worked hard and earned it. But how would he have felt had that very job title been bestowed on somebody of the ‘diverse’ demographic, despite Robins being the better candidate, due to the dreaded DEI targets? It’s all very well these white men sitting at the top, basking in their success in getting there, but then shatting on every other white man from a high height. Total double standards and blatant traitorous behaviour. Great news that the bill has already been passed by the House of Commons, and has been given to the House of Lords, where our own Lord Toby will have a chance to join the vote on it.
This is the first time the Labour government have actually done a traditional Labour thing: Re-nationalisation. Let’s hope this is just the beginning, re-nationalising all our vital industries, public utilities and transport, including energy and water, which were all treasonously sold off to foreign companies.
