BBC ‘Breached Guidelines 1,500 Times’ Over Israel-Hamas War

by Richard Eldred
8 September 2024 1:00 PM

A new report accuses the BBC of breaking its own rules over 1,500 times by favouring Hamas over Israel in its coverage. The Telegraph has the details.

The report revealed a “deeply worrying pattern of bias” against Israel, according to its authors who analysed four months of the BBC’s output across television, radio, online news, podcasts and social media.

The research, led by British lawyer Trevor Asserson, also found that Israel was associated with genocide more than 14 times more than Hamas in the corporation’s coverage of the conflict.

On Saturday, Danny Cohen, a former BBC executive, warned that there was now an “institutional crisis” at the national broadcaster and called for an independent inquiry into its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.

Two leading Jewish groups, the Campaign Against Antisemitism and the National Jewish Assembly, added their voices to calls for an independent review, while Lord Austin, a former Labour minister, accused the BBC of “high-handed arrogance” for continually dismissing questions over its impartiality.

The Asserson report analysed the BBC’s coverage during a four-month period beginning October 7th, 2023 – the day Hamas carried out a brutal massacre in southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking another 251 into Gaza as hostages.

A team of around 20 lawyers and 20 data scientists contributed to the research, which used artificial intelligence to analyse nine million words of BBC output.

Researchers identified a total of 1,553 breaches of the BBC’s editorial guidelines, which included impartiality, accuracy, editorial values and public interest.

“The findings reveal a deeply worrying pattern of bias and multiple breaches by the BBC of its own editorial guidelines on impartiality, fairness and establishing the truth,” the report said.

It also found that the BBC repeatedly downplayed Hamas terrorism while presenting Israel as a militaristic and aggressive nation.

It claimed that some journalists used by the BBC in its coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict have previously shown sympathy for Hamas and even celebrated its acts of terror.

Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s International Editor, is accused of excusing Hamas’s terrorist activities and comparing Israel to Putin’s Russia, while Lyse Doucet, the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent, is also cited for allegedly “downplaying” the October 7th attacks on Israel.

The report singles out the BBC’s Arabic channel, saying that it is one of the most biased of all global media outlets in its treatment of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

I should say (most definitely) NOT worth reading in full.

p.s. Is there some other expression that could sometimes be used?

Despite being within the belly of the beast for three weeks and being ‘vulnerable’ on grounds of age and co-morbidities I have yet to be offered my first stabbing let alone a second.

Fairly clear by now, that LS is not too sceptical Covid vaccines. I suspect that dropping the scepticism was always the plan and that they destroyed the once brilliant comments section, simply to limit the retaliatory damage, from those who were once ardent LS patrons.

Five million clowns now fully locked into the painful early death syndrome, but with a bit of luck, they will be able to have one last pint before they expire.

Anyone under 65 and in reasonable health has a higher risk of death from the vaccine than from the virus.

I’m waiting to see how events transpire 9-18 months down the line before making a judgement re the ‘conspiracies’. But I have prepared psychologically for losses.

Not 50% in Wales. According to Public Health Wales, only 30.9% of over 80’s have had the “vaccine”, despite significantly higher take-up in the 2 lower age groups. I’m curious as to why that is. I seem to remember that in Wales, a decision was made to give the AZ vaccine to the oldest age group. I can only think of 3 possible scenarios: more in this age group are refusing the 2nd injection, it’s being held back by gov/health agencies for some reason, or there’s a general shortage of AZ “vaccine”. I’d love to see the reported side-effects to date broken down by vaccine manufacturer AND age, but I’m not aware you can do that with the way the UK gov are publishing adverse events (unlike with VAERS data).

Another thing I’ve noticed is that the size of the over 80’s population in Wales as reported by Public Health Wales has been gradually reducing, and is now approx 660 less than 2 and a half weeks ago.

It does not go down well, this cheer-leading for the vaccine programme. I’ll leave it at that. The ‘membership’ are not impressed.

I seem to remember Johnson recently saying that the under 50s would not be vaccinated as yet in order to allow older people to get their second jab. Am I misremembering? Or has it been seen that there are indeed blood clot problems with younger people and this is a secret way of suspending the vaccine for the under 50s just as has happened, for example, in France, Germany, Holland and Canada.

So that’s 35 million single use plastic syringes, so far. Plus all the single use plastic test kits and masks. Where is Greta when we need her?
