There follows a guest post by Jeffrey Peel, who was shocked to discover that, despite mask mandates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland being history, the BBC and YouTube are still censoring views that criticise masks, including cutting off a guest mid-sentence.
Last week I was in London. Part of the reason was to attend a meeting of Together, the campaign organisation that’s behind the Together Declaration. It was last July when the organisation last had a big meeting, so I was looking forward to seeing Alan Miller and others who have been campaigning so hard over the last months against Government proposed mandates: masks, vaccination and digital IDs.
However, just before leaving my hotel for the meeting, I had an email from Hugh McCarthy, a former Head Teacher and well known education specialist. Hugh had been invited on to a BBC news and current affairs programme on BBC Radio Ulster. The show is hosted by William Crawley. However, during the programme, when Hugh was outlining how masks in the classroom get in the way of the teaching process, and impede the ability of teachers and children to communicate, he was taken off air. Literally when he was mid-sentence.
I had a similar experience to Hugh when I last appeared on the programme on December 18th, 2020. Crawley’s way is to talk over, shout down, or bully guests that don’t agree with the BBC Covid narrative (on the rare occasions they’re invited on). However, the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Scientific Adviser are treated to uninterrupted reverence.
When I listened to the programme, featuring Hugh, on BBC Sounds, I was appalled. So I asked Hugh if he’d like to be interviewed on camera and say some of the things he’d like to have said on the programme. He’s a retired school teacher and principal. So he speaks with knowledge, and with consideration, about the process of education and how best to teach. He researches his subject. And the video outlined the evidence against masks, against children being vectors of disease and about the need to put the needs of children first. He has articulated these views widely and has been published by Panda and the Daily Sceptic.
I put the video on YouTube on Thursday night. By Friday morning it had close to 700 views. The trailer had over 10,000 views on Twitter. Hardly Joe Rogan but not too bad. But then I was informed by YouTube that the video violated YouTube’s guidelines and had been removed.
So despite the Government mandates on masks being removed it’s still the BBC’s and YouTube’s view that citizens are unable to express the view that the policies (now effectively cancelled in the U.K., though Scotland is hanging on till March) were ever wrong or ill-advised. The fact is, though, that the devolved administrations and schools continue to mandate (or effectively mandate) these mad policies. But for the avoidance of doubt: kids are at negligible risks from Covid and masks do next to nothing to mitigate the spread of an airborne virus. Oh, and masks and good education are incompatible.
I’ve now loaded the video to Vimeo. Please watch. And please retweet this.

“Why are the bbc” etc etc…Because if the malevolant organs of the insidious global technocracy fes up that at best, it was a mistake, or at worst, it was all a big fat stinking porky pie….the whole pile of stinking cack dissolves into a giant puddle of effluent! They must maintain the lie, or they’re all fooooked!
The BBC did the government’s bidding because they were sh*t scared of being de-funded.
The BBC continues the lie because they are sh*t scared that the court of public opinion will defund them.
They’ve backed themselves into a corner.
Coulda just done what they’re paid to do – JOURNALISM.
Its been such a long time since anyone at the BBC has done real journalism that I suspect they have forgotten what it is.
That applies to ALL “main stream” media
No wonder they want to ban RT – it shows them up for what they are!
And YouTube, Twitter and do on are scared of being censored by governments… …so they censor their content themselves.
Also, many posters that use these sites now ‘self censor” as they know what speech they can’t post. So: Mission accomplished there too.
No – they are run by Great Reset Billionaires.
What a raft question,
It’s because the lying beeb are upfront with the new world order great reset satanic remake of society.
Raft? Daft.
Draft
Yep. These people (and institutions) must all hang together … or they could all hang together.
Censoring anti-mask views wasn’t done to please the government. The BBC and YouTube (and most other MSM/big tech organisations) have political agendas that have their own life, and have done for a long time, and masks and the covid narrative happen to suit those agendas.
Agreed, but I believe that – like most things – it’s a combination of factors. There is a lot of navel-gazing at the BBC and some people there really are worried about losing influence. Which they deserve to.
That “postcard from Portugal” sure is taking a long time to arrive… flight numbers, from where the PCR tests were ordered, etc, etc.
Easy, easy, EF.
But don’t expect too much regarding Kafkaesque bureaucracy. For that, as ever, you must use your imagination: to paraphrase Solzhenitsyn, we should not believe TPTB have their ducks in a row…
The Director General of the BBC – Richard Sharp – is a former Goldman Sachs Bankster, and all the best researchers say that ultimately its the Banksters who orchestrate this crap. Theyre certainly a big part of the problem and they absolutely are there at a high level so having them running things like the BBC is a big mistake – to allow this to occur
These “Bankers ” are everywhere! Javid worked for Deutsche Bank.
Sunak ex-Goldman Sachs & we all remember what Rolling Stone wrote about them.
The why is easy, it maintains the narrative.
The more salient question is, how are they getting away with it? Massive funding is the answer. Both the BBC and YouTube represent an establishment.
The real question is what do we do? And the answer is already in circulation; alternative media. Legacy media is in terminal decline. The ban on mask debates is one of a series of episodes future historians will point to as markers in the long decline in trust of media sources.
However powerful the establishment think they are, trust cannot really be bought. Aggressive policies enforced by the BBC, as well as their creation of the Trusted News Initiative, are doing a solid job of eroding their place in society. They can’t mask the decline of their influence
This is an encouraging development.
Friends and colleagues tell me repeatedly that they “don’t watch the news anymore”.
They’ve turned off the propaganda because it looks like propaganda and it sounds like propaganda: “always on about the same things” is how they put it.
They usually add, “I’m sick of it.”
I’ve noticed this trend too. Often in people who pride themselves in being non-political etc.
There are only so many insinuations of rabid sexist, racist climate trashing we can be accused of when we are busy thinking about how to decolonise our wrongthink views on disabled transgender women of colour
They now intend to ban RT ( with Starmer’s urging ) so we get no alternative view and direct reporting of the Russo – Ukraine conflict.
We have never seen censorship like this before in our lives!.
We are now treated with total contempt by those we so stupidly
elected to hold power over us!
The success – and rapid growth – of this site proves there is a huge demand for “contrarian” content – that which actually challenges the “authorized” narratives.
Somehow those who value a genuine “search for the truth” must circumvent all of these mainstream “gatekeepers of the news.”
It’s also worth noting that the few sites that do allow real journalism have been “targeted” for censorship or de-platforming. Joe Rogan is the most obvious example in America, but also the “Tucker Carlson Show.” And these invaluable “Substack” sites – all produced by “independent” or “citizen” journalists – are and will continue to be targeted by Big Brother.
“They can’t mask the decline of their influence
:
What more proof do you need that masks don’t work?
The Government could put an end to the BBC’s nonsense at a stroke as could OfCom but they don’t. Masks protect you is the God given truth notwithstanding all the evidence to the contrary. You can not argue with these people it is like a cult and anyone you uses reason to counter the narrative becomes instantly demonised. This is one of the most deeply disturbing aspects of this whole sorry saga.
By “these people” I assume you mean mask wearers, and not the BBC or government? They don’t believe a word of it. Not a single mask present at those photos at the back of Downing Street. Strictly for the plebs
Yes a fair point.
Out for a riverside walk this lunchtime and passed only one masked person. Encouraging, except for his horrified expression when he realised he was sharing a narrow clay pathway with me and Mrs Dee. (Although I may be biased, I believe we’re not that disconcerting to behold.)
A woman glared at me on the train today over the top of her face nappy. I can only assume it was because I wasn’t nappied-up – don’t think I had done anything to provoke a glare otherwise!
I hope you gave her a big cheesy grin.
Glare back at her stupidity!
Went to a local branch of Morrisons today and most customers (but not staff) were still masked. In other local supermarkets most customers were not masked.
You should have reassured him by baa baa-ing him in a friendly manner.
So your true anecdote suggests that they really don’t believe what they are reporting (and demanding everyone report). So this is a confession/acknowledgment that they also have an agenda – or share the same agenda – of our overlords in government and the “Deep State.”
The powers that be have always regarded the official narrative on Climate Change, Covid etc. as if we are at war and any dissenting views are unpatriotic.
It doesn’t matter if the truth is on our side.
Such is the nature of control freakery. When we question things, even innocently, it feels threatening to them. That’s the secret. They can’t handle it. Inflexible narratives cost a fortune. They are not viable longterm
“When we question things, even innocently, it feels threatening to them.”
A bit like when people claim they’ve been “flying all round Europe” during Covid, by “using their imagination”?
Sheesh, EF, you seem to be getting really worked up.
I can guarantee to you that we have flown, driven, ferried all over Europe throughout all this insanity, without being jabbed or sticking anything up our noses or into the back of our mouths.
It isn’t hard to figure it out. TPTB don’t have their ducks in a row, they never will in this respect, it’s all a massive charade. A massive money making charade. And they aren’t even bothered to spend money putting any REAL restrictions in place because they know that most people BELIEVE they have. Including you, it seems. Which is sad, because you seem to be a thinking, sceptical type.
Will you ever travel again, I wonder? Don’t wait for the green light. It ain’t coming.
We are at war – our Governments are at war with us and we are losing!
You think moaning about it will do any good? You know what the answer is? Become a warrior instead of a victim.
Shun Google, learn to use privacy focused google-free software, there are many alternatives to Gootube and their gatekeepered meta data gathering anti-privacy search engine.

Great comment. Upvoted.
Ditch the TV licence especially (I did so years ago).
Alternative media is on the up. I’d never heard of Bitchute two years ago
Or utreon, or odysee, or rumble
The only drawback of being TV-licence-free is that you can’t enjoy telling them to ‘poke it sideways’ all over again.
Become “the Hammer, not the Anvil”

I don’t have a TV licence, could someone please explain to me what the BBC is
It is like Pravda, but with more minorities
What are minorities?
I’d have said it’s like Pravda but less trustworthy.
I saw one definition on The Urban Dictionary, but it seemed to be about something quite un-british. I am confused too, Cecil.
This is off-topic, but has anyone else seen this?
(My emphasis)
https://www.mdpi.com/1467-3045/44/3/73/htm
‘Genomic DNA, or gDNA, is the chromosomal DNA of an organism, representing the bulk of its genetic material.’
http://www.biocompare.com/Cloning-and-Expression/6772-Genomic-DNA/
‘Genotoxicity is defined as a destructive effect affecting the integrity of the genetic material of the cells (DNA, RNA).’
https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/pharmacology-toxicology-and-pharmaceutical-science/genotoxicity
To put it in crude terms, this raises the possibility that people’s very DNA may be damaged/’altered,’ the very concern which was dismissed as a crackpot conspiracy theory propagated by ‘far-right’ nutters.
The MSM informed me over a year ago that mRNA vaccines being incorporated into DNA is impossible.
And quite forcefully too as I recall. They called out a few Big Guns for that particular round of fact checkery
They were, presumably, vaguely aware of the “central dogma” of evolution, that RNA cannot give rise to DNA. Unfortunately that dogma was long overturned by the existence of reverse transcriptases and the embarrassing presence of long sequences of RNA-virus genes in every genome.
In other words, it was bound to happen somewhere with mass vaccination, and the first reports of COVID sequences appearing in DNA were (if I remember vaguely correctly) around the beginning of last year.
It wouldn’t surprise me if vaccine developers were unaware of reverse transcription, because it’s been downplayed since Barbara McClintock was professionally persecuted for discovering it half a century ago (but eventually got a Nobel Prize anyway).
The dogma remains in place because without it, the supposed randomness of evolution is difficult to maintain… and there’s another example of vested interests in science for another day.
Well Patrick Bloody Vallance should know that reverse transcription is a thing, given that he was head of R&D for GSK, who make (or rather made) a lot of money selling reverse transcriptase inhibitors for HIV treatment. You wouldn’t need to inhibit it if it wasn’t a thing.
GSK is also one of the worlds biggest vaccine manufacturers and has had (largely unsuccessful) mRNA programmes.
Either the vaccine developers are all so stupid they can’t join the dots up (entirely possible), or so arrogant that they think bad things won’t happen (more likely).
Are you sure they weren’t confusing DNA and DNR?
Got into a hell of an argument with an acquaintance – “so you telling me that my DNA profile is no longer valid?”
Check out this analysis – It does incorporate into human DNA. And it’s probably messing up embryogenesis.
Good read. Thank you.
You mean this CMO? General Medical Council Comes Out Against Northern Ireland CMO – Michael McBride
Someone mentioned this week, without masks, we would not know there is apparently a health scare. The Germans brought in masks in supermarkets in May 2020 and they are to be used everywhere! Without masks, would be know there is apparently a virus?
Indeed…
Well the WHO said back in 2020 that the reason they changed their advice on masks was nothing to do with ‘science’ but because of political lobbying.
Not just any old mask , but FFP2 masks – one is denied entry to all sorts of places, especially in urban areas if you display the current NHS mask of choice and not FFP2 type – out of town/city areas, take up is …….very different – just got back from a trip across Western Europe.
Depressing that rational discourse/debate about mask-wearing is being suppressed. Are we to have a future where every time there’s a bit of flu around everyone’s told to ‘mask up’, including children in schools? Apologies for stating the obvious, but have just been to Waitrose again, where 75% are still masked..I suppose half the public will continue to wear them until they are told to take them off! Did we ever realise quite how compliant and rule-following our friends and relations were two years ago? Now we do.
The scariest aspect. Learning you’re surrounded by aliens. Watch John Carpenter’s film, They Live
I was surprised to see in asda yesterday 90% unmasked, I suspect the other 10% will remain masked forever…..which may not be that long since they are no doubt fully jabbed too.
Go to Tesco. Down to about 20pct I reckon.
Is it too soon to start hissing “you disgusting child abuser!!!”At people with masked kids? They need shaming.
A stern look and shake of the head is an absolute minimum.
Response suggestion
Waitrose is the grocers for the self-righteous LibDem-voters, who regard the unmasked vax-deniers as the Jacquerie that caused Marie Antoinette to clutch her pearls.
They censor criticism of masks because they plan on bringing them back at some point.
The BBC is the state broadcaster. Always was. As such, there is a built-in bias when push comes to shove to be the voice of the establishment.
What has changed is the degree of state/establishment control, which is now overwhelming, and obviously financial, squeezing out real diversity. This doesn’t originate in the BBC, but in the state – as the compliance of the organs of big capital also illustrates, and why defunding the Beeb will do f. all.
Because to stop believing would mean they were wrong and look stupid. Like all those tossers who wear masks whilst driving on their own, they have bought into the hysteria so much that they have to keep believing or admit to the world they are idiots who fell for the scam.
It’s easier to fool people rather than convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain.
Did someone mention censorship in the UK…?
https://www.markettradingessentials.com/2022/02/tech-firms-must-offer-identity-verification-tools-to-tackle-anonymous-trolls-under-new-uk-plans/
Why are the supermarkets still pushing the wearing of masks, with regular tannoy announcements? Went to Tesco today, about 50% still wearing masks, including staff.
Absolutely. That Tesco announcement drives me mad, including the instruction to ‘be kind to each other’…well no, you can all go f**k yourselves, you sanctimonious grocers, you. I am going to write them a snotty e mail about it. I suggest more people do so.
But, what annoys me a hundred times more than people wearing masks, is people wearing masks incorrectly. There they are, under the nose or under the chin. For heavens sake, you don’t actually have to wear the thing anymore, so why go round pretending you are wearing it for appearances sake? Just take the bloomin’ thing off!
My Tesco has stopped. Though the 20 something girl on the till was inexplicably wearing one. Maybe she had a giant zit to hide?
Supporting Tesco means you support the Vaxx Pass, remember?
You wouldn’t be hearing the Tesco announcements if you were boycotting Tesco.
Santa Vaxx Pass boycott … anyone remember? “Hold the line”? Oh dear.
Normally I shop at Aldi, only rarely at Sainsburys or Tesco.
I only ever shop at my local Butchers, Bakers and Candlestick Makers.
Lots of that ‘be kind’ bollox about now – it’s basically encouraging everyone to pander to the bedwetters.
We didn’t have anything like this when muzzles were mandated, and the boot was on the other foot – they were virtually encouraging the ‘virtuous’ to hassle anyone that they didn’t think was ‘following the rules’. I got repeated hassle about not wearing a face nappy despite being able to claim an exeption under the government’s stupid rules. If they think that after that experience I am going to pander to bedwetters they can think again. If people want to behave in ridiculous ways that’s up to them, but don’t expect the rest of us to try to accomodate it!
“Why are the BBC and YouTube STILL Censoring Views Critical of Masks?”
Because you gotta do what you’re told without questioning it, or else you’re either a psychiatric case or a foreign-paid saboteur, either really stupid or else highly intelligent but evil with it, and who doesn’t deserve to be able to go to the shops, get health treatment, or eat?
Meanwhile, after Monday’s earthquake in Birmingham there has now been a mystery loud bang in central Liverpool. (And we’re not just talking about a bit of Friday night gunfire at a nightclub, or a gangster throwing a grenade at another gangster’s house, or anything else criminal – that’s according to the police.)
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mystery-loud-bang-shakes-homes-26335782
You know what they say. Once is chance; twice is a coincidence; three times is enemy action.
Why are you guys answering a rhetorical question?
(PS don’t answer this!)
The role of the reader
When a broadcaster has to brand itself as ‘Trusted News’ instead of relying on the public to decide whether or not they can trust the broadcaster, the game’s up. It smacks so much of ‘Trust me, I’m a doctor’. The BBC, like the rest of mainstream media didn’t anticipate the power (for now) of the internet and the opportunity it represents for real, independent journalists and commentators.
For years, the BBC was my daily source of information on all kinds of subjects. Now I avoid the BBC as a source of news or information, because I know I can’t trust it, but I do enjoy the eclectic approach that Radio 3 has adopted in recent years. I find escaping into music is something of an antidote to the mad world we live in.
Could the BBC be heading for the same fate as CNN?
https://www.bbc.com/beyondfakenews/trusted-news-initiative/
It seems a trend these days to use words and phrases that in reality give a diametrically opposite meaning to what they are applied to. For example, the word ‘smart’ as in ‘smart motorways’ and phrases such as ‘your call is very important to us’.
Of course, there are also perennial favourites such as the use of ‘save’ to advertise a purchase.
And referring to people paying parking fines as “customers”.
Didn’t this start with the commies branding themselves as “democratic republics”.
“Smart home” – buy a load of badly-designed, cheaply made, internet-connected tat (none of which has any need to be connected to the internet – e.g lightbulbs, heaters and fridges) with bugger-all security and never-updated firmware. What could possibly go wrong?
Their use of that phrase immediately poses the question “trusted by whom, and according to whom”.
I still listen to Radio 3 as well – but avoid all other BBC services. And turn off the Radio 3 news when it comes on as it’ll inevitably be pushing the latest government propaganda. Fortunately they only have short news bulletins, and only at certain times of the day.
All that and the baloney messages about caring and kindness, There was more caring and kindness when there was less commercial blather about it.
As for trust, you have to earn it.
What hope is there when a certain shop is STILL welcoming customers with a little shrine to Saint Boris? I kid you not!
Have you been in without one? Just to annoy them!
Under the proposed Online Harms Bill, youtube is now acting against uk government policy and therefore can be censured by OFCOM?
It’s noticeable that the audiences on BBC shows are still masked while those on ITV and Channel 4 are not.
The BBC has consistently presented Neil Ferguson as a scientist, of course they present face nappies as science too
Re: YouTube videos being censored …
I watched with great interest a video that had been produced by someone showing several athletes following out on the field. The video then simply showed screen shots of headline after headline of other athletes who had died or suffered cardiac events in recent months. The video included a provocative song, asking “what’s going on” or something similar.
Well, the video’s views were increasing by about 10,000 every hour. However, when the video reached about 300,000 views YouTube put one of those disclaimers on it and its views went to about 1,000/day.
My take-away is someone with these companies identifies videos or written content that is particularly compelling (that might persuade people to think differently about an accepted narrative) and that might “go viral.” These companies then block this video/content from going viral by either taking it down entirely or by algorithms which determine how many people will be exposed to it.
Needless to say, this is a terrifying trend for anyone who values free speech. But it’s definitely our New Normal.
It’s all part of the filter bubble – lots written about this.
Why? Because they are are working for and on behalf of the Techno Fascist. WEF. “Great Reset” World Coup of course !
Surely everyone knows this by now?
The Have Joined the Gangsters!?
