Tens of thousands of migrants, mostly young men, descended on Ceuta on Thursday, with shocking video showing people walking, swimming and scrambling over barriers into Spanish territory as Moroccan border guards appeared unable to stop them. The Timeshas the story:
On Friday it was estimated that up to 60,000 Moroccans had arrived in Ceuta in the past 24 hours, encouraged by a ruling from Spain’s supreme court that those who swam into the city could not immediately be turned back. …
Groups of young men were seen wandering the territory’s streets, looking for food and water. The beaches were covered in floats, rubber rings and discarded clothing.
“There was a steady stream of people all night long,” and while the number of arrivals was lower than it had been during the day, migrants “continued to arrive overnight and are still arriving” on Friday morning, a source said….
[Spanish Prime Minister Pedro] Sánchez has so far resisted declaring a national emergency, despite a request from Ceuta’s autonomous Government that he do so. …
The Spanish Civil Guard has described the situation as a “serious humanitarian crisis”.
Spain’s interior ministry announced an agreement with Morocco to speed up the return “as soon as possible” of “all” migrants who have entered Ceuta illegally in recent days. But it gave no further details how this would be achieved without legal consequences. …
Ceuta, a territory of seven square miles with a population of 85,000, and its sister city of Melilla, further east along the Mediterranean coast, are the only European Union territories that share a land border with Africa. Georgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, described Thursday’s scenes as “shocking” and called for Spain’s suspension from the EU’s Schengen travel zone. …

At least 500 unaccompanied foreign minors were among 2,000 people who arrived in the week before Thursday, as well as 18 Moroccan women.
This month Spain’s Supreme Court ruled against so-called “hot returns” of migrants who swim to the autonomous cities, meaning they cannot be immediately turned back by border guards.
The court distinguished these returns from those attempting to climb or break through the fence at Melilla, where migrants are not considered to have legally entered Spain until they cross a security line, which allows them to be returned straight away to the Moroccan authorities.

So on day one 60,000 men storm into this enclave like a joyous football crowd whose team has just won every trophy. Day two, it turns ugly with shops being looted and homes invaded. Interviews on Spanish media sees men admitting avoiding the criminal justice system in Morocco, at least one on suspicion of murder. No military visible and perilously few police. Day three, they’ve all gone back. Really, who made them and is there evidence.
Yes, rather than a “European immigration crisis” was this merely a show of strength towards the enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla being absorbed into Morocco?
There’s a theory that this was all staged as a way of forcing Spain to negotiate the hand-over of the two enclaves to Morocco, which Spain has categorically refused to do. Funny how they want to take Gibraltar, but won’t hand over Ceuta and Melilla. Inconsistent?

Despite every country having “intelligence” no mention of who exactly organised this recent episode of mass illegal migration. Suggest Spain collect up these poor people and return them to their country of origin. Because Spain has an immigration system like most countries. If you would like to live in Spain, you apply to do so through their system. If you do enter without the state of Spain’s approval, you are breaking their law. It is that simple. Now find out who organised this, send those back who entered your country illegally and for godsake sake Europe, grow a pair.

Time for Europe to use serious force against this invasion. These people are criminals. Treat them as such. Spain is doomed. I hope Sanchez and his wife are both visited by some of the diversity they love so much. I hope they enjoy it. I will raise a beer to them when it happens.

I have to say this is diverting our attention from the extensive Chinese “Mission” which today judges gave permission to build in Central London. What could possibly go wrong?

Meloni is stupid to call for Spain to be removed from Schengen.
These people have got to Ceuta. Easy. Hop skip and a jump.
On the other hand, crossing the Straits of Gibraltar, the busiest and most treacherous shipping lane in the world in a dinghy to get to mainland Spain .. a lot less than easy. Either the currents would take you way off course into the Med or the Atlantic Ocean, or you’d be sunk by a container ship whose people on the bridge never even noticed you.
And I really doubt that they will somehow end up being transported to mainland Spain, just by getting to Ceuta. Nor has the Spanish equivalent of R.N.L.I. yet been captured by the loony virtue-signalling DEI Brigade.
Meloni is not stupid. Italy is scarred by the atrocities committed by Moroccan mercenaries in 1944 which are a matter of historical record. If you have a strong stomach you might like to read about them. I am sure Meloni’s first concern is for the safety of women and girls in the Schengen area and after that the security of western Europe.
Ceuta is not mainland Spain. It is mainland Morocco. Important point to reiterate here BTL.

Any country with any sense would withdraw unilaterally from Schengen.
It may not be mainland Spain but I’m not convinced they won’t end up there and Spain already has huge numbers of illegals.
