Police are investigating the sudden death of former Tory minister turned Reform UK politician Ann Widdecombe over fears she was murdered. The Sun has more.
The 78 year-old former Tory minister turned Reform UK politician was found dead at her Dartmoor home in Devon, on Thursday.
It is understood she was found covered in blood after sustaining a serious head wound.
Devon and Cornwall Police this afternoon announced they are investigating the circumstances of Widdecombe’s death.
Officers attended her home and spoke to a carer who worked for the former MP and is believed to have found her body.
Sources said police are trying to establish whether the former politician may have died following an accidental fall or if she was the victim of an attacker.
Details of the suspicious circumstances of Widdecombe’s death had been kept under wraps over concerns of foul play.
Devon and Cornwall Police are due to announce this afternoon that they are investigating the circumstances of Widdecombe’s death.
News of the police probe into the death of the politician’s death will stun the world of politics and her many supporters and admirers.
Ann also spent time as education minister and prisons minister in then-Prime Minister John Major‘s Cabinet.
Following her retirement from Parliament in 2010, Widdecombe swapped the Commons for the ballroom and starred in BBC‘s Strictly Come Dancing.
Ann went on to appear in ITV favourite Celebrity Big Brother, where she finished runner-up to Aussie singer Courtney Act.

We all remember the way the left celebrated the death of Mrs Thatcher. Natural, really, given the vile abuse they had heaped upon her. Think back to BBC “comedy” programmes and how they derided Ann Widdecombe – she was ultra-right, unsympathetic, nasty, except she wasn’t. all that was in their minds but they have controlled the MSM for 30 years.
Recall that many of the Tory Party’s leading spokespersons (as they like to be androginously called) were onside with that.
Although this is rather unpleasant of me, I would not be bothered if Tatchell’s death mirrored that of Ann Widdecombe. What a vile individual he is.

But ‘white British man’ can mean many things these days….
Good to see the police immediately releasing the colour and nationality of the suspect.
One presumes this will always be the case from now on.
They often say that the suspect is British without mentioning they’re an immigrant who’s been given British citizenship.
If British man needs qualifying with race or colour then that should follow. White is no longer the default setting which means that that indigenous ethnicity has been replaced and in plain sight. I have never consented to this.
They also need to say where the suspect was born…

Police ask us not to speculate. Arrest a white Briton on suspicion. Say it’s not political or terrorist, then release him. So, they were speculating that it wasn’t political or terrorism!
Although its quite natural to be curious and speculate, I don’t think we should dive down the nearest rabbit hole. These cases usually end up with a simpler conclusion.
Let’s hope it wasn’t politically motivated, but in this day and age one is naturally suspicious.
if this shocking theory is true, investigations should be diverted from Farage’s funding for personal security to the reasons why our politicians have to go in fear of their lives. That is the real scandal.

I was saddened to hear this lady had died but I am shocked to think it might not have been natural causes. She deserved a long life and a peaceful end.
