You would still be ethnically Welsh had your parents moved from Wales to Japan and you were born there. However, you would be classed as Japanese in the eyes of the law. I will always be ethnically English but should I get Dutch citizenship I will become Dutch. Nobody is disputing one’s ethnicity and this is something that can never be changed.

I agree the debate is stale. However, we can agree, I am sure, that there is an English culture that is complex and rooted in the millennia-long indigenous ethnic make-up of the people of these isles. These are the people who should be prioritised and protected. Such measures could include barring those of foreign background from government jobs or political office and at least 3 generations of exclusion from any benefits including social housing. Also, to promote the primacy of British culture let’s introduce Anglo-sharia such as no loud talking on public transport, no pushing and shoving in queues etc. (I am only mildly joking here). Of course, for those of foreign background any criminal activity should be an absolute bar from remaining in the country.

I just find this whole ”I’m more English than you because my lineage goes back three hundred years and your’s only goes back three generations, therefore I’m superior to you and my rights trump yours” argument tedious, moot and circular. It’s not hard at all to leap over the debate.I reject the framing. I also don’t care if there are white oikophobes and lovely foreigners. The oikophobes are British and we should deal with their arguments separately. The fact is most foreigners only immigrated here in the 1990s. So, rules about bennies, political participation etc will sort out 90% of this leaving the odd lovely contributing foreigner to go about their business. It requires enforcement of the primacy of British culture and people and strict monitoring of foreign colonialist enclaves. Examples are, no citizenship unless 3rd generation. No ILR, just time-limited visas. No more mosques. Taxes on remittances abroad. Etc etc. It can be done.
How do we “deal with their arguments separately” when these are the very people responsible for supporting and enabling the mass immigration in the first place?
