The FSU supporting Connie Shaw is a happy accident. She’s very credible. Likely not a career she’d expected but she’s a keeper.

May I add this to the Round-Up, because it raises some important questions:

IDF launches probe after Israeli soldier smashes statue of Jesus Christ in Lebanon

Israel has admitted that the photo of the soldier doing that is genuine, and will be dealt with, but his actions raise some important questions that Christians need to face honestly.

First of all, he smashed a Catholic Crucifix, depicting Jesus’ body nailed to a cross. Christians who claim that Jesus is Almighty God, which Jesus himself never did, are breaking the First and Second Commandments in erecting such statues and wearing crucifixes:

1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shall have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)
2. THOU SHALT NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGES. (Exodus 20:4-6)
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. (Exodus 20:7)
4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy. (Exodus 20:8-11)
[Note: It does not say you must attend church or Catholic Mass]
5. Honour thy father and mother. (Exodus 20:12)
6. Thou shalt not murder. (Exodus 20:13)
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
8. Thou shalt not steal. (Exodus 20:15)
9. Thou shall not bear… Read more »

A few days ago there was a post on here stating that Olay Robbins was appointed after Mandelson’s appointment. Not hearing anything about it? Is this true? If so, why is this not broadcasted wide and far?

Starmer will go, he is just waiting to get the elections over, as he will have to go then anyway.

Frankly I would prefer him than Angel Rayner – do you not think that would be even more embarrassing and disastrous?

“For Mothin Ali, Islam comes first.”

I’m not sure those who are being encouraged to think this is objectionable understand the trap they are walking into. The interviewer illustrates it perfectly when she says that she would like politics to be secular and wouldn’t like a politician to say “Praise be to God” any more than “Allu Akbar” (or whatever it is.)

The problem is that expecting politics to be free from religion is in itself an ideological statement. And this is how liberalism has become totalitarian and misguided. It sets itself above religion. It sees the absence of religion ias good and enlightened and desirable and being religious like a sort of affection that needs to be kept away from the serious business of politics and government.

The problem is that all religions are not the same, just like all beliefs are not the same.

I absolutely have no problem with politicians declaring faith in a Christian god and saying they are guided by their god. But I do have a problem with politicians in the UK being Muslim and saying Allah comes first. Because I don’t think Islam is a good religion, while I think Christianity is.

This… Read more »

Well said. The historian Tom Holland has clarified brilliantly in his videos and interviews how secularism – the notion that religious belief can be compartmentalised – has come down to us through Christianity. Islam has not had a reformation and Muslims must naturally believe in the all encompassing nature of their belief system. In that sense it will always be totalitarian. Of course many Muslims like cultural Christians pick and mix the bits of the doctrine they like and want to live by. But there remains so many aspects of that religion, as Holland says, that are basically incompatible with a liberal Western society.

Greens infiltrated …. Horrified to find my own 87 year old mum had voted Green. Completely unaware of their batshit crazy policies or their Islamist supporters, totally bought into their ‘for the people’ schtick. Yet, relentlessly ever present on our screens whilst Restore, despite over 100k members never seen on mainstream media.

I have said it before, but it should be LAW that all parties/candidates offered in an election have all of their/their party’s policies displayed as bullet points at the polling place.

They should be a binding contract, and clearly monitored by an independent 3rd party quarterly etc – at present they can lie their way in and there is zero consequence of tearing up the manifesto…

Reform to send up to 400k asylum seekers home … up to? So it could be 1, maybe 2 and definitely no more than 400k. What nonsense is this? Shades of the Tories sophistry here.

Heatwaves Not Caused by Climate Change

Climate relates to multi-decadal trends. Heat waves last weeks at worst and are usually a result of complete temporary stasis in the weather, ie no change.

“Saying ‘raining cats and dogs’ offends foreign patients, doctors told”

I’m at a loss to know when, or how, this idiom might be used regularly, in an NHS setting but, it’s surely only a matter of time before there’s NHS guidance that suggests they shouldn’t speak English at all… something which, judging by my last visit to a major urban hospital a few weeks ago, they’ve almost achieved already.

“Like the Tories after Liz Truss, the entire party will be blamed for Sir Keir Starmer’s incompetence and lack of control over Government,”

I’ve heard a couple of interviews with Truss just lately. She has some interesting things to say. Not least about the ‘men in suits’ who are behind everything and actually run the country.

If what she says is true, It’s pretty clear that her government was shafted by men who were angry at having their passes revoked being denied access to the corridors of power and who then worked with the Bank of England to deliberately thwart the government’s budget plan.

In happier times, that would have been called treason and the perpetrators hanged, instead we get journalists like James Frayne here; useful idiots who don’t bother to look behind the curtain, but just accept what they’re told.

As much of a car crash as our current PM is, it’s entirely possible he too is being stitched up by the ideology of the shadowy figures who inhabit the Civil Service, like a less benign version of Wells’ Morlocks….

The Lettuce will say anything to claw her way back into power, pretending to be a victim of all those Wicked White Men, so she can wreck the economy again by her sheer incompetence. Lady Margaret Thatcher never stooped to such tricks.

Many of the ‘the world is ending’ metrics everyone shrieked about during her short tenure, are far worse now under labour… and… crickets, never mentioned. Truss was clumsy, rather like Trump in ‘season 1’… but she was on the right lines… the blob got her…

“Is Britain really a democracy? These days I’m not so sure”

As with nearly all newspaper headlines that end with a question mark, the answer is obviously, no.

A system that allows a 20% minority of the electorate to impose a government on the remaining 80%, with a stonking majority by the way, may be the ‘way it works’, but it can hardly really qualify as democracy, no matter how many people don’t turn out.

Added to which, the cavalier attitude of those elected to their manifesto and results of referenda also makes the idea laughable.

We, and they, have completely lost any recognition that they are supposedly in position to serve the country, not the other way round…

History tells us how this ends. And, when it comes, it comes quickly.

The same issue is happening big time in the Netherlands. Majority vote right of centre, now a left of centre minority government.
Exposing blatant lying by the now PM (Rob Jetten) promising to build 10 extra cities. That was always deluded as there is simply no space for these cities unless you concrete the most of the remaining countryside. Similar issue to Labour’s promise to build 1.5 million homes..
Anyway, to state it is not going too well is an understatement…

The real tragedy is that not enough Dutch people bothered to vote for the Heroic Dutch Patriot Geert Wilders, in order to give him such a huge majority that he wouldn’t have needed to kowtow to 3 other political parties in a coalition. It was like tying his hands behind his back.

It’s an appalling scandal that Geert Wilders was illegally prevented from becoming the Dutch Prime Minister, by his own treasonous coalition partners, thereby keeping the Gates of the Netherlands wide open for the Third World Swarm.

Netherlands has proportional representation and coalition politics, so what the majority want matters not.

It ceased to be a democracy with universal adult suffrage, a welfare-state, and redistribution of “wealth” via the tax system. Our electoral system operates on a plurality, not a majority.

We therefore have the tyranny of a concatenation of a greedy, grasping minority plurality voting for whoever will bung the most plunder their way taken from those having to pay their “fair share” of taxes. That plurality means an increasingly large minority on the take, can decide elections.

Restore property Rights. Income is private property not public property to be plundered to “look after the poor”.

Right to vote should be limited to adults with “skin in the game”* – that is those in productive activity with a measurable output, those who are net contributors to tax (excludes people at “uni”, scroungers on the dole, Civil Servants, public sector workers, “charity” workers, NGOs and the like). That is probably only about one-third of the adult population.

Better still, abolish welfare. NHS, public services and let the competitive, capitalist, free market serve the population – use pays – as it used to before Government took over.
