Toby and Nick speak about FIFA’s president Gianni Infantino’s idiotic view on colonialism, Qatar’s hair-trigger defensiveness, our knee-taking England team’s ‘OneLove’ armband climbdown, the bravery of the Iranian team, and David Baddiel’s blackface apology. They also discuss the Donald being reinstated to Twitter (yet choosing not to return), the inevitable blue tick meltdown, the other returning Twitter dissidents and whether Elon Musk is a benign dictator.
The Daily Sceptic’s editor Will Jones joins Nick to run through this week’s featured stories.
And lastly Nick and Toby wrestle (figuratively) for this week’s weekly crown of ‘Peak Woke’.

For quite sometime I have noticed that when I turn on a Sports program with the intention of getting news about sport I first have to listen to 10 or 15 minutes of race or gender politics. I will hear about the need for more black or women referees. I will hear that some football player has declared himself to be gay, which is ofcourse none of my business. I will see women football players or ex players interviewed about men’s football, simply because they are women and ofcourse the agenda is to cram as many women into football as possible. I have had to watch players popularity with millions of people exploited for political messaging when they take the knee or wear rainbow stuff. It has got to the point where the politics stuffed into sport is ruining it. Now ofcourse at this world cup we see players again used for political messages and commentators who should be discussing football wasting my time talking about rainbow flags. ————What next? Are players going to run out of the tunnel with “save the planet” on their shirts? I hope not, because football must have an enormous carbon footprint with teams travelling all over the globe in busses and planes and millions of fans doing the same to support those teams. But I don’t even think they would realise how absurd and hypocritical their planet saving football shirts would be.
