Deputy First Minister of Scotland John Swinney is under pressure to scrap vaccine passports after a new Oxford study found the double-jabbed are just as likely to pass on Covid to unvaccinated people. The Times has more.
The effectiveness of vaccines in curbing transmission – particularly with AstraZeneca doses – wanes over time, according to a study that appears to undermine the reasoning behind new laws requiring proof of vaccination to enter football grounds and nightclubs.
It comes as the Deputy First Minister said customers may now be required to show a negative Covid test as well as a vaccine certificate before being allowed to attend more indoor venues including pubs, restaurants, gyms and cafés.
However, this “theoretical option” has prompted a backlash from pubs and restaurants who claim they face “an avalanche of cancellations” if approved.
Revelations about the reduced effectiveness of vaccines after 12 weeks was highlighted in research led by the Nuffield Department of Medicine, based at the University of Oxford, which co-developed the AstraZeneca vaccine.
It found vaccinated people were almost as infectious as the unvaccinated 12 weeks after their second AstraZeneca jab.
The paper stated: “Transmission reductions declined over time since second vaccination, for Delta reaching similar levels to unvaccinated individuals by 12 weeks for [AstraZeneca] and attenuating substantially for [Pfizer-BioNTech]. Protection from vaccination in contacts also declined in the three months after second vaccination.”
The paper echoes research in the Lancet last month which found “the vaccine effect on reducing transmission is minimal in the context of Delta variant circulation”.
Swinney acknowledged the research but pledged to press on with vaccine passports in clubs and sports stadiums, and continue to consult businesses on expanding them to other settings.

Perhaps he and his family are jabbed or have access to ‘vaccine passports’ so aren’t overly bothered about the fate of the un-jabbed. That is the stance of most of the population, the Austrians don’t seem overly bothered about their fellow citizens being thrown to the wolves. I don’t believe TY is jabbed and I have no reason to doubt his strong opposition to vaxx passports. He just seems to want to believe that the government is acting misguidedly rather than evilly.
If Toby were to post other potential reasons for the vaccine passports I’m pretty sure that this website would be closed down promptly. A Canadian health official recently expressively stated that they have absolutely no evidence for spreadings in gyms, restaurants, cinemas etc. but that this is not why they are introducing vaxx passports in those locations. At one point, an official pfisser – Israeli government contract was available on the website of the Israeli Min. of Health. It wasn’t the supply and manufacturing contract (which I would really love to read – unredacted), but a contract regarding the gathering of data in connection with the vaxx roll-out. A fair bit was redacted, natch, but not as much as I had expected.
One thing unredacted was the termination date of the contract – there wasn’t one, at least not a specified date or length of time. No, the contract would end when the project ended. So I went to defined terms to find when the project would end. No specified time, the project was to go on for as long as it took to establish when herd immunity would be reached. As there was no mention of HI based on 1 or 2 pokes, merely that it was to be reached, this left plenty of room to keep jabbing away, even beyond a 100% poke rate. In other words, if 100% of the population were jabbed with 2 pokes and still no HI, then 3 pokes, then 4, etc. (obviously not worded like that, but the logical conclusion).
There were some conditions under which the contract could be terminated. One of them was if BOTH parties agreed that it served no further purpose. So even if Israel were to say “we’re done, this carp doesn’t work”, pfisser could refuse to agree and it would keep going – after all, it most definitely serves the purpose of keeping pfisser rolling in it. I remember thinking what numbnuts had signed off on that. The arbitration clause was blacked out in its entirety, can’t be a good thing. There was one clause under a miscellaneous set of provisions – the heading was blacked out, as was the whole clause. That’s the one I really want to know.
As I’m on the topic of legal stuff – could the DS people rustle up an article on the FDA’s application to a federal court to keep the pfisser data on which it based its decision to poison the US population secret until 2075? Having had a bad case of covid, I’d not want to repeat the experience, but I’ve now got robust natural immunity (antibody test proven) and if they were following the science then that would officially be regarded as equivalent or better than vaccination.
Personally speaking I caught SARS2 (as tested by PCR and LFT) from a jabbed mate who also passed it onto 2 jabbed folks.
It was not even the worst cold this year. Some lemsip for a few days and hot showers and it was over.

The logical solution is for attendees at any event to show evidence of a lateral flow test that’s negative and done within the last 12 hours. That’s enough.

It’s even worse. Looking at the latest deaths due to all causes published by the ONS. For every age group apart from the over 70s, the number of deaths in 2021 to date is greater than the same period in 2020. Wasn’t there a serious pandemic in 2020 which caused huge numbers of deaths – 160,000 + were typical figures quoted. Then in 2021 isn’t there a vaccine which drastically reduces death, which is ‘safe’ and ‘incredibly effective’. So, how come more of us are dying in 2021?
They know as well as we now know that “the double-jabbed are just as likely to pass on Covid to unvaccinated people”.
But we also know that masks do nothing except to remind us to FEAR.
Chances of despots like Wee Krankie and Drip Drakeford doing away with passport control is virtually nil.
