The Labour party suffers from a psychosis of not having any ideas of its own from later then 1890. The Conservative Party psychosis is the compulsion to 'dish the Whigs'. That's English politics, says Prof James Alexander.
Too many still view American politics through a Left-Right binary, says Prof James Alexander. A better lens is to see that a vote for Harris is a vote for the Court party, while outsider Trump represents the Country.
Are we are all Whigs now, asks Prof James Alexander. "If any historical time looks like ours it is the Whig era of Walpole, when the entire system was tied up in 'establishments' and nets of corruption."
