Telegram can be a wonderful source of information ( true information ) and a great opportunity to meet like minded people..
Yes you will get sources of misinformation and other peoples perceptions that differ to yours but at the end of the day most have a common purpose...
There are plenty of groups and lots in the north of england..
I have met and communicate with some wonderful people..
Letting go of how things were to how things are now is a good start..old perceptions and egos need to take a back seat as do shallow judgements..

I'm with Mike and Mia, ASITP is definitely recommended. I've been to meetings in several different places, most seem to be well established but they always welcome a new face!

The Reddit group is a lot more lively and moderated sensibly

I'm not sure which group you are referring to?

I've removed myself from Telegram after two days of horror! I feel a right plum, I got a smartphone for it.

I am very lonely or I'd not have gone there. Generally I find the internet a really grim place, full of shit no one needs to know and that brings nothing good to life.

Of course lockdown kind of forced me towards it. Twitter and Instagram have been fine, you can follow art and music etc.

But this....OMFG. I joined 15 groups on Telegram. I thought the covid world was insane but this is just beyond crazy. Some of these people are trolling - hopefully the majority? - but even then....

Is that why this board has gone quiet? People don't want to be seen as anti lockdown because it gets you associated with a whole pile of crazy?

Okay, I will be lonely through next lockdowns. But it's better than sifting through what I found there.

I'm a pessimist but even I was stunned by what I found there. Like the BBC but the other end of crazy?

I hate how life is "choose you preferred brand of crazy".

There was one nice group but they are probably just hiding their horrible side. I commented after they welcomed me with "come away from the sheep" type talk so they dialled it down. They were posting about flat earth this morning. They also talk about clean eating a lot. Is no one just ordinary anymore?!

I'm old enough to remember life before the internet. It certainly helped with many a boring working day, but it seems to be really toxic now.

Thanks to those who offered to get in touch.

All the groups I have joined on telegram have been great..the sitp have been a great way to meet like minded people and a valuable source of information..
I have seen a few dodgy groups but just came off them and stayed away..
Yes the sheep are referred to a lot as being the source of following like sheep and keeping this shit going despite the evidence calling out the lies and dodgy statistics.prople are angry that their lives have been and continue to be ruined by prople who wont wake up and are following like sheep walking blindly into a dystopian nightmare.they have every right to be angry. I have had no abuse of telegram but I have had it from the sheep who will not wake up and wont do their research.
The forum has gone quiet for many reasons but I suspect they have moved to other forums including telegram for sources of information ..support and meet ups...
Its not a Facebook I had beans on toast for breakfast forum..its discussing real issues..they welcome new people but there are good and bad and extremes in every walk of life...
