I thought I'd share the letter I sent to my MP, Steve Baker. I will post his response when it arrives. As I share in the letter, I am increasingly coming to the view of James Delingpole after originally siding with Toby Young. There are far too many inimitably sensible people raising the alarm here for this to be ignored. Furthermore there are effective cures for Covid-19 (e.g. invermectin) so the vaccine is not our only way out.
Dear Mr Baker MP,

I write to you as I grow increasingly worried about the Covid-19 vaccines. Unfortunately, for those of us who believe normal life should and can safely resume, the vaccination programme has been a way to encourage others that this is indeed the case. However, just as the harms of lockdowns are overlooked, the harms of the vaccines are too. Thankfully, I am in the age group who has not yet been offered the jab so I feel entirely comfortable not getting the jab unless I know that its harm are vanishingly small. On the case of children, it is clear that vaccination is entirely unnecessary so would be completely unethical to pursue, however for some like myself in their twenties, Covid-19 poses a small, but non-zero risk. I am not a scientist so can only provide references to other sources, but I am curious about science and I am increasingly sceptical of the safety of the vaccines for Covid-19.

As a member of parliament, I deplore you to make the case for Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy – not the 'anti-vax’ straw man, but the real, scientific questioning of the alarming deaths and symptoms of those who have been vaccinated, particularly when compared with previous vaccines. Logically, this is yet another reason to oppose vaccine passports, it is not comparable to having be vaccinated for TB. This is not an attack on vaccinations, it is a clear and rigorous look at the evidence on the harms of the Covid-19 vaccines. Just as the lab-leak was suppressed and censored the same is happening with any critical look at the safety of these rapidly developed and tested vaccines, both are incredibly dangerous to suppress, the former harming our ability to safeguard ourselves and the latter potentially causing a complete failure of the medical ‘do no harm’ principal.

Best regards,

Pseudo Nym
High Wycombe

You should reference the proof of the "alarming deaths" that you mention, in your letter.
If you have something to prove it, say so!

Steve Baker's response:
Dear Pseudo Nym,

Thank you for your email.

I do not believe that the vaccine should be mandatory for anyone, including children, and I have worked hard to ensure that it is your choice not to take the vaccine. As you know, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has authorised the vaccine for use for 12-15 year olds. I trust that the MHRA would only approve a vaccine if it was safe to do so. I appreciate that you may disagree with this. The Government has taken this advice and has now asked the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) to advise as to whether the vaccine should be offer for 12-15 year olds. I will trust their independent advice on this issue as I have throughout the vaccine rollout. However, I would oppose any attempts to make this mandatory for children. It should be for a parent to decide whether or not their child receives a vaccination.

I would like to restate that I believe the vaccine is safe and I have had it myself. Nevertheless, I do not believe that anyone should be forced to take the vaccine or that those who have chosen not taken the vaccine should be discriminated against. I also do not agree with domestic vaccine passports or Covid certification.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Steve Baker

A disappointing response, that ignores the thrust of my email, but it is probably representative of what most lockdown sceptics believe. I too also "trust[ed] that the MHRA would only approve a vaccine if it was safe to do so", until I looked into the reported side effects of the vaccines. When you actually look into yellow card data or VAERs in the US the idea that this vaccine is 'safe' by historical standards is obliterated. People wise enough to be sceptical of lockdowns ought to be wise enough to be sceptical of the Covid vaccines.

An utterly useless reply from Steve Baker but predictable...that's a big statement " vaccines are safe"...so hes a scientist now then? A doctor?...there have been long term studies including long term animal studies on the experimental vaccines then has there?I would like to see those..
Your initial letter dlondon not sure why you needed to use the term 'anti vax ...strawman' it seems a bit contradictory to me...pro choice..against coercion and forced vaccines..the strawman reference and the context it suggests of those not wanting the experimental vaccine I disagree with.
I don't think any sensible answer will come before a nice cushy job and pension..
