Science isn't about institutions. Just as faith or belief doesn't require a church. Science is about discovery via observation and the application of method.
Not all science is "good" or has been used for the betterment of humankind. Look at the KWI during the Third Reich.
For what it's worth the world is no "better" a place thanks to mobile phones or ipads or watches which track how many steps you take each day.
But if you love it all without questioning or thinksingaboutit very much that's up to you. Others have a greater capacity for critcal thinking.
@coronanationstreet War brings on many scientific achievements. Which is another reason why the government endorses it. No good for the people actually fighting and dying for it though.
I hope you wore your poppy Long gone, all those who died for our freedom, to protect us from tyranny, and uphold democratic values. If you did, you are a hypocrite. But at least you weren't the odd one out, got to keep with the in crowd.
The B & M Foundation is also the second biggest donor to the WHO, the problem with their donations is that they come with caveats on what they can be used for so the cynic would say they want to influence all these organisations to do the work and achieve the results that the Foundation desires and not what might be seen as a priority for the organisations themselves or even what is in the best interests of the population as a whole.
