How long can Care Homes ban visiting for in response to positive cases?

Title says it all really. Are Care Homes allowed to ban visits in response to experiencing some positive cases (ours experienced a handful, I think mostly or all among staff), and if so, for how long? 

Value any insight anyone has into this. Would be good to know what our rights are in the situation.
