Woke NHS bosses are forcing interview panels to explain why they have hired a white person over a non-white applicant. The Daily Mail has more.
A policy at the Royal Free in north London requires staff to compile reports justifying why the successful candidate was deemed ‘more suitable’.
They must write to the trust’s chief executive with evidence on how they scored the non-white applicant and come up with suggestions on how the candidate can improve for next time.
Frustrated staff say the system is a ‘tick-box exercise’ that is adding yet another level of bureaucracy to an already creaking NHS.
Ministers recently pledged to crack down on “waste and wokery” that costs the NHS billions of pounds, with trusts told to cut “diversity and inclusion” jobs to focus on frontline care.
On Saturday the Mail revealed how the NHS is offering more than £1 million of “woke non-jobs” in hospitals and trusts at a time when it desperately needs more cash for patient care.
The latest policy applies to interview shortlists that involve both white and non-white applicants, according to documents seen by this newspaper.
It has been in place at Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust since July 2018 for staff in senior positions, but was expanded in recent months to any role within the trust. If a white candidate is chosen, the panel chairman must write a report explaining why they were “more suitable” for the role. It does not apply the other way around.
They must also provide “justification” as to why any ethnic minority candidate was not chosen and provide detailed “scoring notes” as evidence. Alongside this, they are required to suggest how the failed applicants can “develop their experience, skills, or aptitude” for a better chance next time.
The report must then be sent to the trust’s chief executive, Caroline Clarke, within 10 working days. Failure to do so sees them named and shamed in the trust’s monthly Workforce Race Equality progress report.
A senior source at the hospital said: “It feels like a tick-box exercise. When we discuss who the best applicant was after the interview, it’s not about their ethnicity.
“So justifying your decision based on where they might be from does take a lot of time because you have to revaluate your decision from a completely different perspective, based on race rather than ability.”

Is the NHS demonstrating ‘institutional anti-white racism’?
Interestingly, ‘only’ 20% of medical directors are BME, as are ‘only’ 25% of clinical directors. As this is below the 42% BME in the NHS in general, this is considered evidence of discrimination against BME, and thus is partly responsible for moves such as requiring justification to hire a white worker. The fact that the BME proportions are already higher than found in the general population appears to be irrelevant.
42%. Due to decades of raiding the healthcare systems of poorer countries for cheaper (ie already ‘qualified’) healthcare workers. Which in itself is a form of discrimination. You could even call it institutional racism.

Someone needs to tell the NHS folks that want to ‘take medics from India’ that Crown Rule for India ceased in 1947.
Agreed, although I think it is based on the government policy fallacy that it is cheaper to import ‘qualified’ healthcare workers that somebody else paid to ‘train’ than it is to train homegrown ones. But nobody in government wants to talk about that bit of colonialism, or institutional racism to use the woke terminology. The fact that many of them don’t speak understandable English or understand English and come from different cultures with different values and norms is just ignored. Because racism.
Oh dear there is a downvoter who thinks we are all racists for having the temerity to want their 89 year old partially deaf, partially blind and cancer suffering mother to be treated by someone who speaks and understands English and who has got verifiable qualifications. If that makes me a racist then I’m a racist and proud of it.
So more anti white discrimination, otherwise known as discrimination or racism if you prefer. Doubly offensive because it is paid for by the (still) mainly white taxpayer, who has no choice about whether to fund the NHS or not. See what happens when you try to resign from funding the NHS. Nothing.
I guess that nearly everyone that becomes aware of this policy would think it absolutely ridiculous.
Despite that it seems there is very little the “nearly everyone” can do to halt this tide of illogical, disgusting wokeness.

It’s not a “tick-box” exercise. It’s all part of moving towards equality of outcome being normalised as the only acceptable state of affairs. It’s a war. Evil, mad or both. Equality of outcome is batshit crazy as a goal, and I suspect a lot of those pushing it know that but it suits them to divide and conquer.
NHS restricts hiring white people. You can add to that, even if it risks lives.
