Daily Sceptic readers may or may not know that I compile lists of taxpayer-funded charities for my Substack. For this, I take a sample of charities and add up how much they have had in “Income from government contracts” and “Income from government grants” over the last five tax years available (as charities publish their accounts at different times). Then I add up the total. So far I have calculated £2.6 billion going towards 71 charities (bearing in mind there are over 170,000 registered on the Charity Commission for England and Wales), with 34 of these categorised as asylum and migration charities in receipt of over £300 million. I add to these lists as and when I find new charities in receipt of taxpayer funding.
Given that the current UK national debt stands at £3 trillion and counting, what has surprised me from my recent audit is that many charities had a sizable increase in their funding from when I last audited them. Today I will show you five examples of these, listing the charity, its funding increase and a bit of information about what each does.
Migrant Help (£194,462,000, 2021-25)
The charity received £153,592,000 between 2020-24, meaning an increase of £40,870,000.

Big cuts coming from Reform I hope. A report should be required of them all to expose their income and spending including salaries, support for the left including party office aspirants and grants to other bodies.
These “charities” are nothing of the kind. They are political campaigners.
Find the legislation that has enabled this commism and Muhammadan supporting largesse, and defund by cancelling the Acts of Parliament. Just break stuff – the laws that are destroying us. It is harder for the Islamo communists to recover if you have broken the laws their treason stands on.
You could reasonably argue that the Government giving charities (our) money is just the Establishment Elite dispensing patronage. The Government do it to exert control and provide jobs for their mates.
Even Trump, at his most bombastic, has achieved only modest results draining the swamp in the USA – sometimes replacing one set of bureaucrats with another. I guess one man can only do so much.
But cutting off money to charities is perhaps an easier task, even if the media claque complain loudly. So make a start by stopping charity ‘contributions’ for anything to do with immigration and asylum seekers – this will reduce the ‘pull’ effect somewhat. Let the charities find other contributors.
Thanks, as always. Another sign of how much trouble we are in that government giving money to charity is seen as normal. Why is the government giving to any charity? It’s profoundly undemocratic. Individuals are free to give money to whatever cause they wish, and the amounts and causes chosen will be by definition a perfect reflection of the will of the people.
Absolutely agree ToF. HMG has no business whatsoever giving money to charities and that includes the tax refund element. Charity is an entirely personal business. My own donations go only to small local projects with leaders who draw little or no salary and occasionally to ‘disaster’ funds.
I give to our local air ambulance which seems fairly sound, and another small charity I have personal experience of through a family member

It is – of course – the place of the individual, not Government, to give to charity.
Pro individual sovereignty, shrinks govt and the tax take, and a direct attack on the transnational technocratic power grab.

100% agree. The government has no moral right giving taxpayer money to charity. There are charities I like to support. Why is the government not giving money to charities of my choosing?
Why are they giving money to charities who seek to influence government policy in favour of immigrants/immigration? For balance, they should give similar amounts of money to groups opposed to immigration.
