We urgently need a law which punishes vexatious complainants to the police and other organisations. As long as tiny numbers of people with extreme activist views can make a complaint that their feelings have been hurt and the response is to deploy police intimidation we are lost in decay and dystopia.

The DT does seem to be getting worse. I had not thought that possible.

in one article Lord David Frost calls for the Tories, of which he used to be a member, and Reform to work together. Has he done the maths? I am sure that Reform would lose a significant part of its membership and support following any accommodation with them. Tories remain toxic especially among Reformers.

I believe the Tories would also lose both members, MPs and supporters because a significant number would transfer to the LibDems or even to Labour.

Combining the two would result in a smaller total. A bit like merging the British motor industry in Benn’s time.

The second article was about energy. The DT seems to think there is a shortage of oil and gas. For that reason they recommend using what remains s to build nuclear power stations. There is no oil shortage. There is no gas shortage.

What a pity the DT and others were not more interested in nuclear energy in past decades when the left was decrying the alleged dangers of it (probably on behalf of the USSR).

More AI apocalypse squirrels. A few things suggest that there may be an ulterior motive for the squirrels release ie to bring AI under government control. First up, AI shares are reputedly vastly overpriced and companies need propping up. Secondly they need vast infrastructure resources that government can direct to development more easily. Also, people are using AI to uncover corruption and background control of politics. Very embarrassing. Lastly, governments would love control to implement a surveillance structure.

Earl Spencer: I am telling the truth about the King

A dissolute aristo known as ‘Champagne Charlie’ with a history of heroic quantities of harmful chemicals, four wives and well over a dozen mistresses may very well be expected to have ‘clouded’ reason and kaleidoscopic memories.

…a dreadful bully to Victoria. I’ve been callous and vicious, trying to force her out of my life’ 1997

In forty years time, it will be the one thousandth anniversary of the usurpation of the English throne, which in turn led to the confiscation of lands in England and the annexation of Wales, Ireland and Scotland by a royal line and an aristocracy descended from “the bastard” and his captains. They are the ones closest to the stains on British history, who still “own” the landed estates (and whose forebears enclosed the commons against the “common” people). A plague on the lot of them!

Another day, another story in the Tory aligned media trying to make the Tories look relevant and undermine support for Reform. It looks like the left will scrape back in with a coalition at the next GE and I’m not looking forward to another 5 years of articles blaming Reform for spoiling the party.

They don’t have to unite, they just need to form an alliance and focus on what they have in common.
They also need to do it soon so that they have a coherent strategy ready for whenever an election is called.
Put your egos aside, politicians; talk to each other and stop the destructive backbiting..

I disagree entirely. They should carry on as they are as each presumably believes it has something distinctive to offer the voters. Reform are offering to deliver on all the policies that the Tories have been promising or should have been promising, and the Tories are doing the same but calling it the Conservative Party which allows certain people to vote for a supposedly right wing party without it being led by that nasty vulgar man who wears blazers. That so many still intend to vote Tory shows how much trouble we are in.
