Moderna has been ordered to pay almost £44,000 after 12 year-olds were encouraged to join Covid vaccine trials with the promise of teddy bears. The Telegraph has the story.
The US-based biotech firm was found to have discredited the industry by Britain’s pharmaceutical watchdog, as well as failing to maintain high standards.
The complaint related to four X adverts published by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in June and July 2023, which looked to recruit youngsters aged 12 and over for Moderna’s updated mRNA vaccine.
The adverts, which were aimed at youngsters rather than their parents, added: “All our junior volunteers get a lovely certificate and a ‘be part of the research’ teddy bear.”
Two separate articles published online also attempted to directly recruit children.
Critics warned that the NextCOVE trial was recruiting at a time when children were deemed at low risk from Covid and were not being prioritised for jabs.
Molly Kingsley, the founder of campaign group UsForThem, said: “For any pharmaceutical company to effectively bribe children with the offer of free teddy bears to take part in a trial of a product posing a degree of risk to the child is sinister and deeply unsavoury behaviour.
“Moreover, given that by the time of this trial it was well established that Covid posed only minimal clinical risk to healthy children it is hard to see how these trials for otherwise healthy children were ever judged ethical in the first place.”
Under The Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations it is prohibited for incentives or financial inducements to be given to children or their parents.
Pharmaceutical companies are also banned from directly advertising to children and complainants argued that the advert to test a “new” vaccine made it appear that the jab had already been cleared by regulators.
Esther McVey MP, a former member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on COVID-19 vaccine damage, said: “These posts were judged to be an attempt to directly persuade children to join their COVID-19 vaccine trial.
“I think it’s fair to say that this shocking behaviour sets a new low for the pharmaceutical industry. Their punishment was a fine of just £44,000 – pocket change to a company of this size.
“This latest ruling comes in a long line of cases which have found major pharmaceutical companies guilty of misleading the public about their Covid vaccine products.”

£44k isn’t much for an evil of this magnitude. Obviously meant to send a signal to carry on as normal. You don’t get much more evil than luring a child to his death with a teddy bear.
Correct, and for absolutely no benefit!
£44,000 is obviously beyond insulting.
But it’s not as if billion dollar fines they’ve received in the past have changed their behaviour either.
I doubt anything short of jail time will change the behaviour of these sociopaths.
No question that CEO’s must be made accountable. Actually I would start now and haul the buggers in to court and then off to clink. Trump has pointed the way. We need to follow suit and become a “world leader”
in prosecuting the pharmaceuticals.
Even if it ends up with no conviction. Let the process be the punishment, like with Stteyn, Trump and plenty others.
Prison is too good for them. We need to take them to trial in US jurisdictions that have the death penalty. Send a clear signal to any potential copy cat CEOs.
“was recruiting at a time when children were deemed at low risk from Covid and were not being prioritised for jabs”
They were always at low risk from ‘Covid’. And as mentioned by others, 44K is chicken feed to them and will cause no damage to their huge profit margin.
£44K? Didn’t we hang em high for experimentation without consent during Nuremberg? These are children, they cannot give informed consent. Best we get back to old-school punishments. And quickly.
£44K is peanuts to multibillionaire Moderna CEO Monsieur Bancel. Scroll down to Feb 16th 2024 for Monsieur’s last sale of 26,351 Moderna shares, valued at $2,342,097:

$2.34 Million is also peanuts to Monsieur. Take it from this longstanding Moderna watcher, in preceding years Monsieur was cashing in that sort of monetary value on a daily to weekly basis.
Strong whiff of poisson merde about Monsieur. Maybe RFK Jr will start reeling Monsieur in. Over to the Securities Commission, then next stop the International Criminal Court at The Hague for arraignment for violation of the Nuremberg Code and the Declaration of Helsinki. Justice needs to be seen to be done.
Do you know if the Moderna factory/facility/research and development plans in UK are still going ahead with UK Govt. money (after Astra Zeneca has bowed out saying they needed a bigger bung)?
Ah. A grooming gang with no respect for their victims’ bodily autonomy.
It isn’t just damage to individual health this pathogen is designed to do continuous damage with accelerated evolution. It shifts the person into another category given effects on DNA. Arguably no longerfully human. It destroys the integrity of personhood and means that we will have to live with a pathogen forever. This is a higher order evil than just genocide, depopulation. It presages an endpoint in the not too distant future.
Punishable by a fine means legal for a price. Pharma have such deep pockets their Christmas parties probably cost this much.
If they’d multiplied £44,000 by a factor of 10 it might have deterred them from similar unethical behaviour in the future.
This won’t.
