Welcome to this special episode of the Sceptic with James Esses, writer, campaigner and co-founder of Thoughtful Therapists.
Back in 2021, James was a hard-working part-time Master’s student in psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in London. In his spare time, he was also raising concerns online about the impact that transgender ideology – and the so-called gender-affirming approach to care – was having on vulnerable children. He never imagined that doing so would lead to him being kicked off his course without so much as an appeal. Three years later, he’s taken his college and the U.K. Council for Psychotherapy to court for that – and won.
James joins Laurie on this episode to tell his story. They also speak about his research into how our institutions have been infiltrated by trans ideology; the impact of the Cass Review; the threat trans ideology still poses to kids; and why it’s up to adults to protect them; and much more.

If I had to describe the biggest change in our society in the last 5 years or so is that saying objective, verifiable truths have at some point or other got people into serious trouble.Things like:
-There are only 2 sexes.
-Covid jabs are dangerous
-Covid isn’t especially dangerous
-Masks are ineffective in stopping disease spread in society
-Humans aren’t causing catastrophic climate change
-Black people aren’t really discriminated in our society
-Women aren’t really discriminated in our society
-Illegal immigration is causing more crime in the country
A society that doesn’t tolerate the truth is going to run into trouble eventually.
Im taking it you meant ‘doesn’t’ tolerate the truth?
Spot on post
Oops. Yes.
I listened to the first part of the interview and was sufficiently impressed with what James Esses has to say to get me here to puzzle-out how to access a premium podcast (and that’s easy enough, too) and follow him on TwiX too.
