Humza Yousaf has received more complaints under Scotland’s new hate crime bill for his 2020 speech about “often being the only non-white person in the room” than J.K. Rowling, it was claimed today. The Mail has more.
Since the controversial legislation was rolled out on Monday almost 4,000 complaints are said to have been made to Police Scotland, with the force reportedly dealing with 60 complaints on average per hour.
Police sources have now shed light on the nature of the hate crime complaints, revealing that the majority relate to the First Minister as well as J.K. Rowling.
“A lot of those complaints were about Humza Yousaf, on the same complaint about his parliamentary rant,” an insider told the Sun. “J.K. Rowling has had some, but not as many as Humza Yousaf.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson also said: “We have received a number of complaints in relation to a speech in the Scottish Parliament on June 10th 2020.
“Earlier complaints regarding this matter were assessed at the time and it was established no crime was committed and no further action was required.”
As the storm over the laws continues to intensify, Yousaf’s minister for victims and community Siobhian Brown, warned of “hysteria” gripping Scots, revealing that a member of the public had made a fake complaint in her name.
The SNP MSP said that there was “misinformation” about the new act that was leading people to make a series of “fake and vexatious complaints”. …
Meanwhile, complaints levied against Mr. Yousaf relate to a speech he gave in Holyrood back in 2020 during a debate to show solidarity with anti-racism following the death of George Floyd in the United States.
In a clip, that is often taken out of context and spread widely on social media, the SNP leader tells of how people are surprised that he is often the “only non-white person in the room” in most of the meetings he attends.
He adds: “Why are we so surprised when the most senior positions in Scotland are filled almost exclusively by people who are white?
“Take my portfolio, for example. The Lord President is white, the Lord Justice Clerk is white, every High Court judge is white, the Lord Advocate is white, the Solicitor General is white, the Chief Constable is white, every Deputy Chief Constable is white, every Assistant Chief Constable is white, the head of the Law Society is white, the head of the Faculty of Advocates is white and every prison governor is white.”
A 45-second clip of the lengthy four-year-old speech, that was made in June 2020, gained traction online last year. It was spurred on when X’s owner, Elon Musk, replied “what a blatant racist” to a post by a well-known right-wing media account.

Stop Press: Murdo Fraser MSP has asked Police Scotland if they have logged a ‘non-crime hate incident’ against Humza Yousaf, just as they did against him when a trans activist reported his tweet mocking the SNP’s Non-Binary Equality Action Plan. He pointed out that Police Scotland have to log the ‘hate crime’ reports about Yousaf as an NCHI unless they operate different rules for the First Minister. The Telegraph has more.

It is difficult in Scotland because they require a radically new economic agenda and somehow it got entangled with the Woke nonsense. How many people even at the level of government actually understand the web that they are trapped within in terms of attempting to grow economically. So few and so few would ever get close to even advising them. We do not live in pre-revolutionary times and yet true political understanding requires a certain acknowledgement of the need for radical change. But they are an intelligent and thoughtful group up there and I have faith that they will figure it out at some point. We live through the malaise, the birth of the new with its attendant morbidities as Gramsci would have it.

Just dissociate yorselves from England on every level as quickly as possible. I don’t mean on the level of indivdual friendship obviously. I have lived in Scandinavia and the Scots are easily as canny and gifted as the Norwegians and could well become a beacon and bright place. Even if you study econmics at university there will be so many things that will be kept occluded from you. Glaringly obvious perhaps especially in hard times. Just root out the English rot and start from scratch and you will be there in no time.

Never a complaint from me when I speak to Scots or Irish I can speak my mind freely without facade and they are the same. Just keep it together in this time of dissolution. I can tell you from my own life experience that your spirit is stronger.
There is no capitulation or taking the piss out of the status quo in this regard. I lived in small towns in Ireland and big cities in England and frankly you either get it now or you don’t. She’s pointing out a very obvious huge flaw in her own government’s new law!
But it’s even worse than she is acknowledging: Because the ‘hate’ complaint can be very conveniently submitted anonymously, anyone with a grudge against anyone in Scotland can passively aggressively submit a complaint against that person, especially if they know their victim’s address and a few other details, they can totally make up something completely fictitious or exaggerate some fairly innocuous incident which actually occurred.
And Police Scotland have promised to investigate every complaint!

Can someone advise, as an English person can I lodge a Hate Speech complaint against the SNP? They’ve made it perfectly clear for years that they hate English people?
Okay, so how come this law is classified Ex post facto, but we hear constantly of people being “prosecuted” for things they may have posted years ago, as hate speech?
Don’t get me wrong, none of this should be happening, but this appears to have been crafted in such a way that Humza can’t be prosecuted for what he said in the past. Lets see if they try to prosecute anyone other than him for things they said post April 1st 2024.

The “Hate Speech” Marxism is ofcourse a diabolical disgrace, but even more so if you can arrest someone for something they said some years ago before saying that was considered “hate speech”. ——–It would be like fining someone for parking on Double Yellow lines long before they were ever painted.
