Is DEI About to Die?

by Nick Dixon
21 January 2024 3:00 PM

Another victory against woke was won this week, as ‘Big Four’ accounting firm PwC, which employs 46,000 people in the U.S., was forced to tone down (though not completely scrap) its racist ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ (DEI) policies.

The Financial Times explains:

PwC has dropped some of its diversity targets in the U.S. and opened up previously off-limits scholarships to white students after pressure from Right-wing activists and a Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action.

There is something insane about the way such open discrimination has become little more than a banal fact, widely and timidly accepted.

But after years of policies overtly and aggressively discriminating against white people (and sometimes Asians) the pushback is now gaining momentum. And, crucially, it is not just coming from (presumably evil) “Right-wing activists”.

We’ve seen the firing of Claudine Gay – widely seen as a diversity hire, woefully unqualified for her former role as Harvard President – and now billionaire Bill Ackman has taken against DEI with an almost missionary zeal, publishing a long essay in which he calls it “inherently a racist and illegal movement”.

Elon Musk was, of course, already on board, stating, “DEI is just another word for racism. Shame on anyone who uses it”, amongst many other anti-DEI statements.

Mark Cuban launched a long, but unconvincing, defence of DEI, broadly amounting to the claim that DEI merely gives you a wider pool of people to choose from, but is in no way discriminatory. Musk’s reply, asking when we’d see a short Asian woman playing for Cuban’s basketball team, ratio’d Cuban into oblivion with a single post.

This led, in case you missed it, to a series of hilarious memes from parody account Wei Wu, demanding her rightful place in the team…

Those of us on the side of sanity are clearly winning the meme wars. And we have Musk on our team, which was probably to be expected, but now also Ackman, which seems a more significant development.

Pressure is also being applied to politicians. Dean Phillips – who is set to receive $1 million from Ackman for his presidential campaign – has dropped all mention of DEI from his website.

Of course, no one is suggesting Ackman forced him to do this. Phillips has simply become “educated” by – *checks notes* – Bill Ackman, who gently suggests “Let’s listen to what he has to say after he gets educated”. Lol.

You’d have to have a heart of stone not to get at least a sliver of enjoyment from the use of the now woke trope ‘Educate yourself’ against a proponent of DEI. Backed, almost irresistibly, by a million dollar incentive to stop the madness.

Returning to PwC, the FT points out the company has “dropped a pledge to award 40% of its procurement spending to minority-owned suppliers”. The FT also claims changes “included ending race-based eligibility criteria for a student internship programme”.

Sounds good. Though if one visits the actual webpage for the programme, the changes are less emphatic than one might hope. X account End Wokeness has provided a handy comparison of PwC’s language before and after this change:

Note they still insist that “Students who have demonstrated a commitment to DEI principles”, whatever that means, “will be preferred”. While the requirement that students “must self-identify” as one of a long list of oppressed minorities has been replaced with “we further encourage” said victim groups.

It feels like these changes have been made through gritted teeth, with a keen eye on not getting sued. PwC’s own statement appears to confirm this:

PwC’s DEI report named the Supreme Court ruling among the challenges to progress in 2023, along with economic uncertainty and social unrest. “We’ve also reflected on the Supreme Court ruling and applied rigour to advance our diversity commitment in a way that fully accords with the changing legal landscape,” the report said.

It’s still a win, but perhaps not a slam dunk of the kind we’d all like to see Wei Wu delivering for the Dallas Mavericks.

DEI needs to end. Its goals are as impossible as Wei Wu playing for a pro basketball team, and as undesirable as Claudine Gay becoming president of pretty much anything. It is also clearly racist, as made plain by Elon Musk, Bill Ackman, and one’s own common sense.

But this will not stop major companies and institutions clinging to demented communist ideas like DEI for dear life.

However, I personally do not believe DEI can survive this relentless assault by the twin forces of inherent truth and billionaire donors.

It will wriggle, it will squirm, but DEI will eventually DIE.

It’s going to need a hell if a lot more than a gotcha from Elon Musk and the scalp of one over promoted “diverse” chief executive.

At the very most it is a positive start. But I’m afraid, the positions of power and influence in most western institutions are filled with moronic, brainwashed “elites”.

Elon Musk is a master at saying all the right things.

His actions, however… dig there, fellow sceptics.

Not even close to dying. I doubt Western European White Christian Civilisation can be saved. Parts of the USA, Eastern Europe and parts of South America may survive, but rich western “liberal” “democracies” seem too far gone to me.

European civilisation has merrily existed for about 1950 years without the wonderful American idea of resurrecting the ancient spectre of democracy which became extinct due to being unfit for any purpose when the Romans conquered Greece. Democratic Europe was an experiment which started only after the second world war and one can argue that it was mainly meant to keep Europeans harmlessly squabbling among themselves while the power center of the world moved elsewhere. The saving grace of so-called representative democracy were human rights. And post-COVID, there can be no illusion about how much our so-called human rights really matter to the party-cliques governing us. The experiment seems to have turned into a complete failure.

Your making too much of a project out of it. —-It is so much simpler than that. The would be world government at the UN wants to rule the whole world and individual nationhood is detrimental to that goal. It is better for them if instead of feeling like citizens of nations that we all just feel like citizens of the world and the main way they use to achieve this is mixing us altogether (multiculturalism) and mass immigration.

A terrific article from Edward Curtin showing how Martin Luther King was murdered by the state.

Well worth a read 📚

Same garbage topic, different context; the case of this poor head mistress that’s being put through the wringer because she won’t capitulate to the demands of a Muslim kid and allow a prayer room at her school. More details about the crybaby, malicious, psycho schoolgirl have been revealed. But what I’d like to know is what have Muslim kids been doing thus far? I mean, how on earth have they gotten through a school day for all these years without a prayer room? This deranged girl needs to be given the boot.

”A Muslim schoolgirl who is taking High Court legal action against her teachers after pupils were banned from praying in the playground was suspended last year for threatening to stab a girl.
Court papers reveal the teenager made the threat soon after confiding in the fellow pupil that she was bringing the court case to ‘harm the school’. She was excluded for five days last April after her ‘scared’ confidante told teachers what the girl had said to her.
The news comes as her headteacher, Katharine Birbalsingh, told The Mail on Sunday last night that she feared for her own safety due to the backlash over the legal case, which the pupil and her mother are funding with legal aid.
The girl is suing Michaela Community School, claiming the ban breached her human rights.
The judgment in the High Court case, which could cost £1million, is expected next month.”

The “pupil and her mother are
funding with legal aid.”

Rhetorically – how on earth is this case qualifying for legal aid, otherwise known as taxpayers money?

…and her mother? Daddy AWOL then? On a jihadi somewhere.

Mother and daughter should be bunged on a ‘plane and shipped out to Pakistan.

Sick of this bloody lot ruining this country.

I’ve not been following the case closely but going by the article it reads like the head only stopped the praying in the playground once this psycho girl and others became like self-appointed ‘Sharia police’, and went round intimidating other kids. The ‘moderate’ Muslims perhaps. Sounds a bit like the story I shared recently about the German school. They basically form clans and become school bullies, but the only difference now is they can play the ‘race card’ to gain an advantage, then perpetual victim status is all theirs.

Aah yes – as Dianne Abacus would point out – the race card. Never leave home without it.

This is Islam’s modus operandi: when there are enough of you, start causing trouble by demanding special favours and requirements for your religion. Intimidate non believers.
Possibly the most evil religious ideology that humans have ever come up with. A mafia-like religion of threats, abuse, violence, coercion, hatred and death. Disgusting. The civil war is coming, unfortunately. Polticians who allowed this need to watch their back (a warning not a threat).

It’s a start and I hope this evil, communist theory dies a painful death. But the left- minded in our societies still imbibe this madness and it will be difficult to change their dim witted thinking. A long battle ahead.

About 10 years ago I went for a job interview. The class of applicants did the training and at the end we were given a little speech by the trainer. He said “You all will have noticed that there are many Muslims, Indians and other people working here. Should any of you say anything to offend these people you may face disciplinary action and possible dismissal”.————We were then asked if we had any questions. I raised my hand to ask what I thought was a very reasonable question. —-“If a Muslim, Indian or other person says something to offend me will they also face disciplinary action and possible dismissal”? —-I have never seen a persons jaw drop so fast and for so long. I never did receive an answer and I think the trainer was actually astonished I could ask such a question. —–Diversity works in one direction only. As I already knew.

DIE and ESG have to be defeated. I’ve moved my investments away from a large company that only invested in ESG funds. Since moving my money my return on investment have improved significantly.
ESG is literally killing pension funds
