The Office for National Statistics has finally admitted that Britain is experiencing an ongoing excess deaths crisis in an article in the Lancet, coauthored with researchers from Imperial College London, the Department of Health and others. Disappointingly, however, the article is not an in-depth analysis of the causes of the deaths but just a one-page comment piece summarising the top-line stats and waving hands at what might be behind them. The authors call for “timely and granular analyses” to “describe such trends and so to inform prevention and disease management effort”. Which is odd, because that’s exactly what we’ve been asking them for for over two years now. After all, they’re the organisations with the data and resources to do it.
The article notes that there have been hundreds of excess deaths among young and middle-aged people every month in 2023 and suggests that the blame lies largely with the failing NHS. Other experts quoted by the Mail in its coverage of the piece point the finger at lifestyle factors including obesity and alcohol.
So now we’ve seen blamed: an ageing population (even though dementia deaths are running low), the after-effects of the virus (a possible contributor), an alleged drop in statin prescriptions during the pandemic (not borne out in the stats), healthcare waiting times (which don’t explain why it’s so busy in the first place) and now people themselves being blamed for eating and drinking too much. But there’s one thing everyone is absolutely sure can’t be responsible, and that’s the rushed, experimental genetic vaccines taken multiple times by anyone at risk of ending up in hospital with a respiratory virus (and almost everyone else too) – jabs that clinical trials and subsequent studies found to be associated with unusually high numbers of serious adverse effects. No, it can’t possibly be that.
From the Mail.
Hundreds more middle-aged Brits are dying every month than expected, with experts blaming unhealthy lifestyles and the NHS crisis for the surge in excess deaths.
An extra 28,000 deaths, or more than 1,000 a week, were logged across the U.K. in the first six months of the year, according to fresh analysis of official figures.
The spike in mortality is especially stark among people aged 50 to 64, with 15% more dying than usual.
Most of these deaths were caused by largely preventable illnesses, including heart disease, liver damage and diabetes.
Experts pointed to Britain’s ever-expanding waistline and alcohol intake, as well as the beleaguered health service for failing to treat patients fast enough.
Data from the Office for National Statistics show 353,047 fatalities were recorded between January and June this year.
This is 28,024, or 8.6%, more than the 325,023 expected over that period.
Excess deaths, sometimes known as extra deaths, are the number of deaths that are above the average for the same period in previous years.
Separate data from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) show that, in the year to June, 15% more 50 to 64-year-olds died than expected.
There were 64,268 deaths among the group, compared to the 55,861 expected — meaning there were an extra 8,407 fatalities in a year, or around 700 per month.
An analysis of the data, published in the Lancet, also noted that more people are dying at homes rather than hospitals.
During the pandemic, excess deaths were focused among older adults.
But there is now a pattern of “persisting excess deaths which are most prominent in relative terms in middle-aged and younger adults”, the authors wrote.
“Timely and granular analyses are needed to describe such trends and so to inform prevention and disease management efforts,” they added. …
The report noted that cardiovascular disease was one of the leading causes of excess deaths, while liver disease, acute respiratory infections and diabetes were also fuelling the trend.
Anti-vaxxers have claimed excess deaths are down to Covid jabs but scientists insist that the injections, which have saved tens of millions of lives globally, are not to blame.
Writing in the Times, Professor Yvonne Doyle, former Medical Director of the now-defunct Public Health England (PHE), blamed “an underlying pandemic of ill health”.
She said the spike was driven by heart disease, diabetes and cirrhosis — all of which are highly preventable and driven by lifestyle choices, such as an unhealthy diet and drinking too much alcohol.
“Unless access to preventive and early treatment improves, these causes of death will continue, and be joined by cancer,” Professor Doyle warned.
She noted that the U.K. is faring worse that many other wealthy countries in the fight against poor health and criticised the Covid inquiry for focusing “solely on tactical decision-making by political leaders”.
Worth reading in full.
Meanwhile, Steve Kirsch reports on his email exchange with the ONS’s Sarah Caul (one of the Lancet article coauthors) where she explains where the mortality data can be obtained and he asks for her help in obtaining and analysing them (no reply as yet).
Separately, Professors Norman Fenton and Martin Neil explain on their website what data are needed to answer the vaccine question definitively, responding to a request put to them by David Davis MP at the Parliamentary meeting on vaccines on December 4th. (Read Dr. Pierre Kory’s account of that meeting here.)
Will either Steve or Norman now, finally, get the data they are requesting from the ONS?

Profanity and abuse will be removed and may lead to a permanent ban.
They will get the data they want us to see. Why is it taking so long for people to work this out? In this mirage of lies we live in, why would anyone think that asking nicely or following ‘official’ channels would get them to the truth. We don’t need any more damn evidence, we need justice. We need to remove these dirty animals from power.
How far can cognitive dissonance stretch before it snaps?
The rabbit hole runs deep Neo. Morons at work are still stabbing, getting ill and claiming Rona from fake tests. Others who are ill with Rona are fully quackcinated but unclear if they stabbed lately with the bivalent. I did ask the stabbinated what was the point of the stabs if they get ill….scariants is the reply. Yeah people are that stupid.
Or maybe they recognise that it’s just a trial mitigation drug, and believe that if they are ill again, they need more of it. Cash in hand for the manufacturers etc. Used to happen on the back streets for other novel drugs, as many know.
I’m starting to think our postal service must all be off sick – I used to see the post van parked outside most days – now I havent seen any for a couple of weeks.
All the way into War in Ukraine, Net Zero, banning of meat.
As a Paramedic I can categorically tell everyone that nothing much has changed in the NHS.
Yes, Ambulances are piling up in the carpark outside A&E, but that’s little different to 2019, 2018,2017 etc.
It was chaos way before Covid and nothing much has changed.
What has happened is that the GP’s are still sulking that the Covid happy days are over, when they had an excuse to do even less than they were doing before (and getting paid handsomely for doing so) and are simply telling anyone who so much as coughs on the phone to them to p*** off, call 999 and don’t bother them again. The NHS 111 doctors (on £100/hour) are even worse, there’s literally no job they will do and simply send EVERY pathetic ailment to the Ambulance Service for us to sort out.
That’s why we’re more busy than usual but it’s not impacting excess deaths. 95% of our incessant calls before Covid were c**p and now that figure is up to 98% but it’s still c**p and c**p doesn’t contribute to excess deaths.
My local air ambulance service claims that they are receiving five times the number of calls that they did a year ago (or some similar unbelievable number). How can this be so??
Probably because the Air Ambulance is called out more often.
You’ve got to understand that about 90% of our staff now are new and inexperienced with only 2 or 3 years experience who call the Air Ambulance for anything that they believe is serious. I recently went to one where a woman had twisted her ankle badly in a shop and the paramedic on scene first had called the Air Ambulance!
The Air Ambulance are IMO a gold plated sledge hammer to crack a nut. They’re probably needed in about 0.01% of jobs but the public love it and these glory boys love being adored.
There’s not many jobs we go to that are further than about 20 minutes to the nearest hospital and I’ve been on many jobs where the Air Ambulance has f***** around on scene for so long that’s it’s actually detrimental to the patient when, if was left to us, we’d have done everything, loaded and gone and the patient be in hospital in a much shorter time.
But no one wants to hear this i’m afraid, it’s much better for everyone these days to be “choppered” to hospital for the small price of millions of pounds of taxpayers money.
Have things really changed that much in a year though? I’d understand a small increase, but five times?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one flying overhead either. I’d always assumed they were for things such as cliff rescues, extremely serious spinal and head injuries and above all to be sent to places where a normal ambulance either couldn’t reach or would take too long to do so.
Are they not allowed to say no if called out to people with twisted ankles at town centre shops?
“Timely and granular analyses are needed to describe such trends and so to inform prevention and disease management efforts,” they added. …”
Just cut the pho#kin la de dah use of pseudo intellectual English intended to fog over what is happening and tell it straight:
An immediate investigation in to the cause of the excess deaths is required.
Bloody disgraceful.
Indeed. If after an initial cockup you double down at every available opportunity even while people start dying from neglect and untested medical products, does it still count as a cockup? Asking for a friend.
Just a thought – is this by any chance a Limited Hangout? The technocracy machinations continue in the background: digital ID, CBDC’s, the dismantling of health care provision, the 15 minute cities and 20mph roads, cameras everywhere. Meanwhile, behind the scenes preparations for the next Scamdemic roll along and we are talking about facts we’ve been aware of for months.
As I said…just a thought.
Could be. For them to draw attention to it at all seems like a mistake.
I admit to thinking along those lines myself.
I upvoted you!
Still angry are we?
So pleased I chose not to get the vaccine and ‘boosters’.
I bitterly regret not forbidding my wife and son (who was a sixth former at the time) from going along with it.
She has had a hacking cough that wakes her up in the night for weeks, whereas I have had a tickly throat.
Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc, plus long dog walks seem to be the tonic.
Does the wife admit the quackcine made her ill or does she blame bacon, gaming and ‘lifestyle’ like the Daily Fail?
She’s nobody’s fool. MSc from Edinburgh Uni but she is more ‘go along to get along’ in her outlook than me. She is now absolutely sh!tting herself about turbo cancer (which took my best friend last year in a mere five weeks from initial diagnosis) after reading the admission that ‘mRNA vaccines may make unintended proteins’ in https://www.science.org/content/article/mrna-vaccines-may-make-unintended-proteins-there-s-no-evidence-harm
“Unless access to preventive and early treatment improves, these causes of death will continue, and be joined by cancer,”
It would appear that Yvonne Doyle is well aware that a cancer epidemic is on the way. Very kind of her to notify us. It’s not something we are aware of here on DS is it?
The superiority complex of these people, presumably instilled via their training and the NHS ethos, means that they cannot comprehend that us little people might actually have it all figured already. If it dawns on them that the mass of the population has finally found out the truth, they will know what it’s like to live in fear. A lot of linkedin profiles will disappear or be edited, I am sure.
We live in hope. We must.
It’s because they haven’t had enough doses.
This is how socialist, collectivists think. The solution to the problem their imposed policies create is more of the same because not enough has been done yet.
Yes. All my life, whenever I have needed to make the point to any of my politically naive acquaintances that socialism/communism has always thrown all good guys in the gutter while allowing the nasty people to be even nastier, they generally counter with the statement,
“Well, that’s because it hasn’t been done properly yet.”
https://off-guardian.org/2023/12/14/does-the-global-temperature-record-really-show-a-climate-emergency/
An interesting article on “global warming ” and how the statistics have been manipulated. One for the mathematicians, of which I am not one.
There is no climate emergency just a lack of common sense emergency!
Well this needs to happen to every single country’s Health Minister, so I’m not sure why the former Italian one is being singled out because they’re all guilty as hell. I mean, how could they *not* know the jabs that they were pushing were dangerous? The deaths and adverse events started happening immediately, had anybody bothered to monitor the various countries’ reporting systems. Look at ‘Midazolam Matt’ FGS! Not just content with promoting the death jabs he had to go one further and stick patients on a toxic drug combo so they could be euthanized, because two heavy-duty drugs which are contraindicated for patients in respiratory distress trump giving these poor people antibiotics, apparently. ( inc 4min vid );
“Former Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza is under investigation for homicide after emails reveal that from the very start of the vaccinations, he knew the shots were killing people and gave orders to local health authorities to conceal deaths and serious side effects in order to reassure Italian citizens of their safety and to not jeopardize the vaccination campaign,”
Yes, they encouraged Italians to get vaccinated. Vaccination was even made mandatory for certain professional groups. Consequently, many side effects, including fatal ones, came to light. The investigations are for murder, serious bodily harm, and more because Speranza and Magrini evidently gave instructions to the local health authorities to conceal the deaths and serious side effects that occurred immediately after the vaccinations began in order not to jeopardize the vaccination campaign — and to reassure the citizens about their safety.”

It would be wonderful if Midazolam Mat was aware of this and starting to sweat. And Savage Jabbit too.
If you adjust for the number of people in each age band this is the overall compare of deaths by age groups per million vs the 2015-2019 average in 2023 so far to week 48.
Remember also that ONS work on future mortality improvements of 1.2%pa in all the banded age groups (i.e up to 89), and that’s based on the trend before all this happened, and so we should have seen 7% less deaths in all these age groups in 2023 compared with the 2015-2019 average.
In the 35-39 age group for example we see just over 19% more deaths than the 2015-2019 average. Add in the 7% of improvement that hasn’t happened, and we are talking around 26% excess deaths in that age group.
Look also at the 4 week running average of deaths per million in each age group. In particular on this chart look at the the dashed and dotted lines representing the middle and younger age groups and see how their mortality has exceeded the expected mortality shown by the black dashed line (which takes into account the 1.2% expected improvement again). This excess mortality in the working ages has been relentless.
And for completeness the same chart without the truncation of the 2020 peak
And Fraser Nelson (of whom I am a huge fan), still thinks excess deaths are purely about weakness in the NHS… or does he?

The “establishment” will close ranks even further so the truth is never known.
More power to those fighting our cause but I fear they will continue to be marginalised and dismissed as cranks whilst those responsible will line their pockets and climb the greasy pole and further their careers.
The frustration from sceptics is palpable.
We’ll fight on but I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel.
My glass is half empty.
“Anti-vaxxers have claimed excess deaths are down to Covid jabs but scientists insist that the injections, which have saved tens of millions of lives globally, are not to blame”
Anti-vaxxers? Realists, you mean.
A lazy slur and predictable. We’re all right wing too.
I wasn’t anti before 2020 but, having witnessed the last few years, my mind is changed. Not sure whether I rule out all vax, but definitely the ones rushed through at warp-speed and mandated on the population
I’m most certainly anti big-pharma corruption. I’m also sure the corruption doesn’t stop there.
Much food for thought here
https://drtesslawrie.substack.com/p/dr-andrew-wakefield-was-right-all
“…scientists, not needing to research the matter because they have the gift of second sight, insist that the injections…”
There are flashing lights from ambulances every time we go out
Oh look, COP twenty whatever, the most stomach-churning, taxpayer insulting, hypocritical talking shop on the planet has achieved absolutely nothing.
Thank goodness for small mercies.

If the change in death rates is ‘lifestyle’, what caused the change in lifestyle? Lockdowns?
The change in death rates is either the bug or the lockdowns or the vaccines*. It can’t be the damn bug or the vaccines if the vaccines are as ‘safe and effective’ as claimed so it must therefore be lockdowns that have caused the change.
Now start adding up the deaths as a cost of lockdowns.
Blaming ‘lifestyle’ changes for the death rate changes is less than half an analysis. What caused the changes?
*yeah it could be trans ideology, climate change, uncontrolled immigration, a lack of faith, something in the water, racism, capitalism, the reduction of lead in the environment, socialism, solar cycles, subtle alien invasion, debt, closing nuclear power stations in Germany or many other things. What do you got?
It doesn’t matter to TPTB what caused changes in people’s lifestyles, if these are partly responsible for excess deaths, or can be blamed anyway. If the blame can be put on lifestyle then obviously the plebs need to be told how to live their lives, or forced to do ‘the right thing’ through minimum prices for alcohol, sugar taxes, taxes on meat or whatever is thought to be the cause of the problem.
Where are the autopsy reports confirming their “feeling”?
Are autopsies still banned?
Are death certificate reports back to normal?
Can a care home manager still sign a death certificate without a doctor?
I haven’t heard anything about these changes brought in by Hancock being reversed?
IMO – Banning autopsies was a dead giveaway!
“Lifestyle” may catch up on the young as they get older – it does not cut them off in their prime, unless they are complete reprobates trying to out-do rock stars on drugs and Jack Daniels.
Lifestyle won’t cut it, and NHS failure is a stretch, as you have to have a rapidly fatal condition for it to be neglected, and very few young people do. Suicide has increased, but nobody is claiming that it is an epidemic.
What does that leave?
Ah yes those “experts” again. ———But let’s suppose I pay an expert a rather large some of money to look for a purple horse. Is he likely to return to me with the result of his expert findings that there are no purple horses, or is he likely to say that his studies indicate there is a likelihood of there being purple horses, or that purple horses are not inconsistent with his findings etc. ——Why say for sure there are none when you know the funding will now cease? Or as the old saying goes “Who pays the piper calls the tune”.
I suppose allowing yourself to be injected several times with a poorly tested, experimental medical product which you don’t need could be classed as “lifestyle.”
If you have a “lifestyle” of not taking the time and trouble to do your own research and don’t have the mental fortitude to tell the Government or someone brandishing a hypodermic to Eff Off, you might well end up vaccine damaged or dead.
A lifestyle of believing politicians, corrupted $cientists and watching the BBC can be very damaging for your health.
Ironic of course that the NHS frontline are the ones in most danger as they cannot refuse these jabs. Pity their Union leaders are too stupid/uninterested/captured to strike against these.
Yes, they can refuse the jabs. They were not compulsory – although Javid tried to do just that.
They were made compulsory for Care Workers and 40,000 had the mental fortitude to say Eff Off.
I personally know one former GP who resigned from the NHS because she wasn’t going to be bullied into joining in the medical experiment. She now practices privately.
Amazing the lengths ignorant conspiracy theorists will go…</sarc>
I have participated in the ONS survey on the basis that I originally believed the information would be used to understand the pandemic better and inform future policy. Obviously I was very naive and the degree of obfuscation is utterly unbelievable.
i have decided to withdraw from any further cooperation until the ONS lifts the veil of secrecy and deceit.
The ONS has betrayed all those who participated, but much more importantly it has betrayed the British public and indeed ordinary people the world over.
I have just sent the link to this article to the ONS and informed them that I will no longer cooperate with the Covid survey until they provide the information that was provided to them by members of the public in good faith to allow for a proper in depth analysis.
If it’s lifestyle – and it’s not, why were excess deaths far higher in the Autumn of 2022. Did people binge and drink themselves to death in less than 2 years – like a nation of Jimi Hendrixs and Amy Winehouses (God Bless)
Bearing in mind the same phenomenon is reflected across Europe and America I think we can safely say it’s not statins and it’s not ambulance queues nor is it pies and a glass of wine. Love to all
Of course its our own fault blame our lifestyle! No one saw that coming did they?
Sadly “lifestyle” is a euphemism for the sorry state of our nation, the majority of whom are ignorant of what’s going on, having been manipulated into a life of dependency on the corporatist state and incapable of questioning what they are told.
So ‘Lifestyle’ joins ‘Sudden’ to explain the excess deaths – but absolutely, definitely, unequivocally, irrefutably it’s not due to experimentation on the population at large without its informed consent, using a untried, untested, safety unknown, mRNA concoction.
I thought ‘obesity’ and ‘alcohol’ had been in the frame for decades, so why just last couple of years have they become responsible for excess deaths?
Pathological liars don’t know how to tell the truth, as they can’t tell the difference. We certainly have a pandemic of pathological lying.
