The Spectator’s Sean Thomas attended the recent pro-Palestinian rallies in London to assess whether both the march and its media coverage were as bleak as during the BLM protests of 2020. He was not disappointed. Here’s an excerpt:
Back in June 2020, I attended a quasi-legal Black Lives Matter protest in London, and a widely reviled counter protest, by hard-right Tommy Robinson-esque ‘football lads’, who were determined to ‘defend’ the Churchill statue and the Cenotaph. …
Mostly, the police managed to keep the warring tribes apart, occasionally the lines broke, and pretty serious violence ensued. I saw this violence from both perspectives.
It was thus with a sense of sad expectation that I sat down to read what my fellow journalists wrote about that day, and it was with a total sense of shock that I realised that none of the journalists was prepared to tell the truth. Because these journalists were standing right beside me and they saw what I saw. …
And so it was with a much greater sense of scepticism – towards the media – that I attended the two rallies in London on Saturday. I was interested in many things, I was definitely interested to see if the media would lie once more, not least because the circumstances were eerily similar. …
I saw happy and amiable Muslim families, lovely little kids in Palestinian headbands, glamorous students with blue hair and angry placards, middle-aged women with Just Stop Oil tattoos, and I heard them all shout, chant or shriek – ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’. …
It was, in other words, another bleak experience, to match the BLM protests of 2020. Indeed it was much bleaker, as the levels of antisemitism I witnessed yesterday were like nothing I have ever seen in the U.K. or indeed any western nation. It made me despair for our media and for the future of Jews in the U.K.

So Suella has been sacked, but also…David Cameron??
”In the last few minutes, David Cameron has gone into Downing Street.
I think – I don’t know – but I think that means he’s going to be the new foreign secretary.
We’ve already seen James Cleverly go in – he’s currently the foreign secretary and it looks like he’s going to be the new home secretary (replacing Suella Braverman).
So I think Rishi Sunak may now be in the process of making Cameron – the prime minister from 2010 to 2016 and out of politics for the last seven years – the foreign secretary.
He’s certainly taking a job in government – or he wouldn’t be going through that door today.”

Just another WEF puppet installed into the heart of a government. The division, the vitriol, the arguments were for this sort of purpose – problem, reaction, solution.
We need to unite against those who seek to destroy our way of life, as united we’re powerful. Divided we’re weak & do the oppression for ourselves.
The issues being argued over these past few weeks have arisen because of the infiltration by supranational bad actors into national politics. They are the enemy. They are the ones enabling mass migration & the destruction of our culture.
Is this what Britain and Europe has become, where we need bollards and camera’s and police cordoning of our statues and memorial sites to protect us from the multicultural “peaceful” protests? So peaceful that thousands of police need drafted in to control all of the peace. Where no one dares to criticise or condemn anything remotely connected to Islam and politicians (except Braverman) are just a bunch of hand wringing United Nations lackeys. All over Europe we see countries transformed from Nations into mere Regions of the International Community and western culture trashed, and you must be some kind of Racist if you dare to question any of this treason.
Exactly. Useful enabling idiots supporting the demise of the laughably called ”free and democratic West”. Where Sharia will be applauded, more immigrants who hate us welcomed in and anybody who voices concern is ‘anti-free speech’, ‘far-right extremist’ and/or ‘racist’. As long as you have the umbrella-term of ”freedom of speech” to protect you, soon we can expect ”how to stone to death your disobedient wife”, ”how to honour-kill your Westernized daughter and escape arrest” and ”how Jews are descended from pigs and apes”. Coming to a high street near you. And how the terrorist groupies/freedom-haters will lap it all up like the traitors they are. The slow, assisted suicide of the West, courtesy of people who avoid history books, hate their country and cannot see what’s beyond the end of nose. After all, you can never be too ‘culturally enriched’ ( a.k.a ‘colonized’ ).
Meanwhile, keep supporting your Hamas heroes who are responsible for doing this to their own people;

Powerful———–and TRUE. There are various wars ging on just now, but the one that most people cannot see is the War on the West. ——No guns or tanks just wokery, political correctness, eco socialism and multi cultural cesspit politics.
Weren’t most of the protests on Armistice Day, not Remembrance? Headlines matter in febrile times. What we need to be wary of is that it might be used as an excuse for “doing something” that might actually be misused another time, rather than polishing up on existing legal options between local authorities and police forces etc. As it happens, the next time there will be an Armistice Day on Saturday will be 2028, with next year being on the Monday after Remembrance.
This piece reveals that our Press are not trustworthy which makes them no better than peddlers of misinformation . As I look at our institutions , I find that they are run by people with an Agenda . The Agenda is almost always running counter to prevailing wisdom but , because our Press is also infected , the traditional Avenue of Challenge by critical journalism , is blocked . Consequently , our Institutions just keep getting dafter and more extreme . And then the dire state of our Politics !!
That there is division and a widening cultural rift between people in this country I don’t doubt.
That much of it is provoked and instigated quite deliberately is pretty obvious.
Thay the media are just liars and propagandists at this point pushing a chosen narrative is clear for anyone who wants.to look.
But not one of those underlying problems is solved by limiting the right to protest in our country. Not one.
This man speaks my language. Concur 100% ‘Hate speech’ has become the new ‘free speech’, seemingly;
”Death to all Jews” trended on X last night.
Thousands of people took to the streets of Europe to demand the extermination of the Jews.
Men praised Hitler, shamelessly, in front of cameras, in Europe in 2023.
Shame on you, Europe.
Shame on Germany for saying ”Never Again” only to import grave antisemitism.
Shame on Sweden for remaining quiet while the majority of Jews fled Malmö because of Arabic antisemitism.
Shame on our politicians for turning many European streets into Middle Eastern streets.
Shame on our politicians for technically erasing Europe’s borders and calling everyone who criticizes these policies ”racist” or ”far-right.”
Shame on Western media that has gaslit critics and made them believe that they are spiteful and hateful for opposing the Middle Easternization of Western Europe.
Shame on you for letting Jews fear for their lives in 2023.
Shame on you for tricking real refugees. For having us believe that we fled our Islamist societies. Only to arrive on a continent that is paralyzed by a suffocating political correctness.
Political correctness that is paving the way for the future Islamization of Europe and the West.
I’ve become a European citizen, a Swedish citizen, and I should feel pride, you know, it’s “one of the best passports in the world.”
But I don’t feel pride… I feel shame.
I feel shame. I feel tricked. I feel grief.”

I marked Remembrance Sunday in church well away from these scenes of protest; I was the organist and the usual hymns were sung, names of the local fallen read out and we closed the service with Nimrod.
Prayers were said for peace and for everyone on earth to be treated with dignity and fairness.
It has never before felt like an act of defiance.
“Amiable Muslim families, lovely little kids in Palestine headbands, glamorous students with blue hair and angry placards, middle-aged women ….”.
So what if they were chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”?
It doesn’t make them anti-Semites, they just want Palestinians to be free from oppression, violence and death from the hands of a brutal regime which is the far right Israeli government.
It’s a nice little ditty which the vast, vast majority would be unaware of any anti-Semitic connotations.
Even Hamas have said previously that they would like to see a Palestinian state within the pre 1967 borders.
That is an acceptance of an Israeli state without actually mentioning it.
There are nearly 2 billion Muslims in the world and they are sensitive to the persecution of other Muslims who they regard as their brothers and sisters.
Israel, allowed by the US, are committing war crimes against Palestinian civilians and are creating a situation which might escalate into a much wider conflict.
People supporting the brutal, right wing government of Netanyahu are facilitating a genocide and ethnic cleansing and should be ashamed of themselves.
And the way things are going the islamists will soon start genocide in and of the West.
Wake up.
Terrorism? It’s called “blowback”. The terrorists who carried out 7/7, the Lee Rigby killers, Charlie Hebdo, Paris, Boston, Brussels, San Bernadino etc etc. all claimed it was retaliation for western involvement in Muslim countries. Most of these radicalised, crazed terrorists were home grown.
The Madrid bombings of 2004 was in retaliation for Spanish military involvement in Iraq. Spain (a member of Nato) stopped that involvement and haven’t had an Islamic terrorist attack until the Barcelona attacks of 2017.
Yes Islamic terrorists hate our liberal atheism but the West’s killing of Muslims causes greater hatred.
It has been estimated that Western wars have killed four million Muslims since 1990. http://www.middleeasteye.net/columns/unworthy-victims-western-wars-have-killed-four-million-muslims-1990-39149394
How much clearer can the evidence be that Western involvement in killing Muslims makes that country a target for terrorists and as a recruiting sergeant for even more radicalized Islamic jihadists who feel they are avenging the deaths of their fellow brother and sister Muslims?
Western countries support of the brutal, apartheid regime of Israel also makes those countries a target for terrorism.
Although it is only a very small number of Muslims who become radicalized, crazed, terrorist jihadists, if the West stopped all foreign conflicts in Muslim lands including drone strikes, withdrew their forces and apologised to the Muslim world for previous incursions the West, and the world in general, may be a safer place.
Wake up.
Are you saying terrorism is justified as revenge for Western actions in Iraq, Afghanistan etc because a lot of your previous comments have said the 7 October attacks were justified because of what you claim Israel has done.
No, I’m not saying terrorism is justified.
I’m giving the reason why there is terrorism against Western countries who kill Muslims.
Palestinians are justified in attacking the foreign invaders of Palestine as long as they don’t resort to war crimes which don’t seem to bother the brutal Israelis.
The reason why there’s Muslim terrorism is because of the mindset of a lot of Muslims.
To put it another way, We have a problem with Islamic fundamentalists because there’s a problem with the fundamentals of Islam.
If the events of 7 October weren’t a war crime what the f**k were they?
The nature of the 7th October attack in taking hostages and killing civilians were a war crime.
The 75 years of attacks on Palestinians and the retribution after 7th October by Israel are also a war crimes.
Therefore Israel has the right to attempt to bring the people who planned it to justice. since they’re “resisting arrest” with every weapon they’ve got there doesn’t seem to be any alternative to killing them.
75 years of Israel defending itself aren’t war crimes, and I don’t care which UN resolution or report from a biased left wing group you quote. When nations defend themselves it sometimes results in civilian casualties, especially when cowards fire rockets from heavily built up areas or dig military bunkers under hospitals.
Using available casualty figures from Haaretz some people are suggesting that the IDF killed more Israeli civilians in the 7th October attack than Hamas did.
“Civilians killed by Hamas: 169. Possibly armed civilians: 50+
Therefore, unarmed civilians killed by Hamas: 119
Israeli civilians killed by IDF: 126
260 dead at the festival is correct. But how many killed by Hamas and how many by IDF? No one knows.”
Robert Lindsay, well-known blogger and founder of the Alternative Left political movement.
https://www.unz.com/article/israeli-death-tolls-for-the-october-7-hamas-attack-on-israel/
You’ve tried this one before with claims of Israel using Apache helicopters against it’s own people at the festival and other people debunked your claims, so I’m not going to believe any other claims you make along these lines.
If Hamas hadn’t of attacked the festival with the intention of killing civilians the death toll would of been zero.
One person disagreed with the evidence that Apache helicopters were used by Israel without citing any evidence to the contrary.
I have provided evidence.
The festival was an unannounced festival to get round regulations against it. It is unlikely Hamas knew it was going on and the nearby illegal settler kibbutz and army barracks was the intended target.
That would make the festival a target of opportunity. Hamas intended to kill civilians, and as you’ve admitted commit a war crime.
On 9th November you wrote “I hope Hamas uses it’s tunnels to inflict as much damage as possible to the brutal occupying forces of Israel many of whom have no ancestry to Palestine whatsoever”. Given plenty of your other comments have called Israeli’s occupiers and oppressors was this a call for more 7 October style massacres?
This is the damage that Palestinians having been inflicting on the IDF in Gaza from their tunnels and the ruins of what’s left of Gaza.

What has this got to do with the price of fish?
Please explain how the kibbutz was illegal, it was inside Israel.
Are you saying they didn’t have planning permission?
How can people be settlers within their own country?
Israeli settlers are illegally evicting Palestinians from their own land as explained by a “proper” journalist Peter Oborne.
Peter Oborne reports from Hebron in the southern part of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where illegal settlers, backed by Israel’s military, are forcing Palestinians off their land with impunity.
https://www.declassifieduk.org/will-the-uk-press-israel-over-illegal-settlers-reign-of-terror-in-the-west-bank/
Israel has been recognised by the UN. This means that any Israeli citizen has the right to live anywhere within the internationally recognised borders of Israel provided they aren’t breaking Israeli law.
The kibbutz where Hamas brutally massacred women and children was within Israel so please explain how it was illegal.
Talking about settlements on the West Bank is irrelevant, unless your saying the people in the kibbutz deserved to be massacred because other people have built illegal settlements.
You’ve agreed that 7 October was a war crime.
IMO nobody with any sense of decency should do, write or say anything that appears to justify a war crime. Do you agree?
Talking about illegal settlements appears to justify 7 October. Do you agree?
I’ve agreed that the taking of hostages and shooting civilians is a war crime.
Palestinians breaking out of the largest prison camp in the world to fight against their oppressors is not.
Do you agree that talking about illegal settlements on the West Bank appears to justify 7 October?
You have just called babies in a kibbutz and people at a music festival oppressors. Is this really what you believe?
What I believe is that you and many others have been brainwashed by the Zionist media to believe all the grossly exaggerated stories about 40 beheaded babies, rapes and murders when it was the IDF who killed more unarmed Israeli civilians than Hamas did.
Palestinians are “justified” to fight their oppressors and foreign invaders.
So you are saying that children at are kibbutz are oppressors.
You said 7 October was a war crime. You are now also saying it was justified.
Why are you so thick?
Why are you creating strawman arguments?
Why are you putting words into my mouth?
For the last time the Israeli government and the people that support them are the oppressors.
Taking hostages and deliberately killing civilians is a war crime but it wasn’t at the scale the Zionist media have made out.
Palestinians rising against their barbaric oppressors is justified.
Why do you write things e.g. about illegal settlements on the West Bank or the heritage of Israeli’s that seem to justify 7 October?
If the Israeli government are oppressors are you calling for a democratic change of government, the end of the state of Israel or something in between these 2 extremes?
Hamas wants to see a Palestinian state encompassing what is now Israel plus Gaza and the West Bank. This is what “from the river to the sea” means.
Do you for one second imagine they’ll let Jews live in Palestine with equal rights?
The only thing that isn’t clear is whether Hamas will be kind enough to allow the Jews to leave or if they’ll carry out a second Holocaust.
The 1948 UN declaration called for the creation of 2 states. Why do you think this plan failed? It’s because the Palestinians on the West Bank united with Palestinians on the East Bank and tried to take over Jordan. They were defeated and the West Bank was occupied by Jordan from 1950-1967. Clearly a lot of Palestinians aren’t satisfied with just pre 1967 borders and must take the blame for why there isn’t a peaceful 2 state solution.
How on Earth are the Israeli’s facilitating genocide or ethnic cleansing? If this was what they wanted to do they’ve had 56 years to do it and no doubt they would of succeeded by now.
Based on a lot of your previous comments about Jews with a large amount of European heritage or people of non Palestinian heritage it appears you’re in favour of ethnically cleansing Israel. Is this a correct summing up of your views?
Palestinians lived side by side with the minority Jews for centuries.
There is no reason why they can’t do so again in a fair and just society.
The UN Resolution 181 suggested that the two thirds majority Arabs should share Palestine with the one third foreign Jews.
Palestinians rightly rejected all treaties which gave away their own lands to the foreign invaders.
With Israel being created and backed by the might of the US it defeated all Arab attacks against it from 1948 to the present day.
“There is no doubt that Israel’s actions amount to genocide. Numerous international law experts have said so and genocidal intent has been directly expressed by numerous Israeli ministers, Generals and public officials.”
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2023/11/activating-the-genocide-convention/
No it is not a correct summing up of my views.
Many Jews in Israel have dual citizenship with other countries.
Arabs and Jews with heritage to the region need to live side by side as equals in a workable peace agreement.
Do you think Hamas will live side by side with Jews?
If not do you agree that they’re an obstacle to peace?
Does Israel have the right to defend itself after being brutally attacked even though this has resulted in civilian casualties?
Yes or no answers will suffice
Hamas only operates in Gaza so your question is hypothetical.
We will have to wait and see what happens to Hamas in the future as sometimes current day “terrorists” become future leaders of their countries like Begin and Mandela.
Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorism BUT under international law Israel “does not have the right to self-defense” as an “occupying power” as per the International Court consultative ruling of 2004.
https://sputnikglobe.com/20231102/what-did-russias-un-envoy-mean-by-saying-israel-doesnt-have-right-to-self-defense-1114671823.html
Hamas operated inside Israel on 7 October. If there was a single state with complete freedom of movement do you think Hamas would live peacefully alongside Jews?
Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism includes the right to destroy terrorist groups. If this means crossing borders, even international borders so be it.
“…a widely reviled counter protest, by hard-right Tommy Robinson-esque ‘football lads’, who were determined to ‘defend’ the Churchill statue and the Cenotaph. …”
This is a cheap, lazy comment from a so-called journalist. Tommy Robinson is condemned by association.
Rubbish such as this casts doubts on the veracity of the whole article.
Pathetic.
You haven’t a clue what you’re talking about.
I follow Tommy Robinson on Telegram to see what he’s up to and he organised it all.
He organised a rally to stand up for British values for which he deserves respect.
They all got tanked up in London pubs, some were tooled up with weapons and they came for a fight against the police and anyone else who stood in their way.
You were there and saw it all?
Try watching some of the videos people have posted links to in comments either today or yesterday then issue a grovelling apology for that comment.
I was watching his posts on Telegram.
The police confiscated weapons.
Over 100 were arrested.
I have nothing to apologise for.
You haven’t watched the videos. They don’t show anyone who appeared in the least bit tanked up.
Provide evidence, not just stories in biased MSM news outlets that weapons were confiscated.
As Tommy said, an event like that will always attract a minority, and on Saturday they seemed to be a tiny minority, of people looking for trouble.
There’s photos of them in pubs on Tommy Robinson’s own Telegram channel.
Of course they could have been drinking orange juice.
They might of had one or two pints, this wouldn’t lead to them being tanked up. Watch the videos, do any of them look tanked up?
GlassHalfFull has replied to other comments in the last 4 hours. The fact they haven’t replied to this one must mean they know no one on the demo was tanked up.
From the Babylon Bee: 80 Years After Hitler Failed, Nazis Finally Seize London WWII stories featuring brave young women working on the war effort, with a touch of romance, are very popular today in women’s fiction. There is interest in those heroic efforts, maybe some resistance after all. https://babylonbee.com/news/80-years-after-hitler-failed-nazis-finally-seize-london
