A talented filmmaker called Keith Craig has made a film about Bob Moran, the brilliant, acerbic, passionate cartoonist who lost his job at the Telegraph for being too outspoken and uncompromising in his opposition to the lockdown policy. Most of this site’s long-term readers will be familiar with Bob’s work, which we have used many times and continue to use in our Archive section. They’ll also be familiar with the cast of talking heads in this film – James Delingpole, Bev Turner, Dr. Tess Lawrie, Bernie Spofforth, Tonia Buxton and more.
This hugely enjoyable, lovingly-made film is very much worth watching in full. Deserves to become a cult classic.

Looking forward to watching this.
I’m the proud owner of two of Bob’s original cartoons. His work will be used in the history books of the future when the country is able to look back at the enormous mistakes made over Covid.
Given the appalling manner in which The Daily Torygraph treated Bob Moran following his spat with a jumped up and deranged, nutjob ‘lady’ NHS doctor, and given the failings of the NHS over the birth of his child I wish and hope that Bob Moran has a long and successful career.
I see no distinction in promotion via film than I do via his cartoons. All artists to an extent lay themselves bare through their art so all their art is self-promotion. I don’t see a problem.
Bob Moran is bitingly sharp in all his cartoons and certainly if the goons in Westminster had any self-appreciation they must feel stuck to the core at the announcement of a new work – oh no. Is it me? He has been a hero to many of us and I salute him.
Bob Moran belongs in the top echelon, up there with the likes of Neil Oliver, Mark Steyn, Carl Heneghan, Dr Mike Yeadon, Dr Claire Craig, Dr Robert Malone abd scores of others. I wish him all the best. An honest man.
Couldn’t agree more. Great post, thank you Bob et al.
..I got a t.shirt…! I am a huge fan and think his cartoon will be used endlessly in the history books in the future….brilliant bloke!
OK, I haven’t watched the film, and I Iove Bob Moran’s cartoons, but a few things bother me:
1. As I understand it, Bob himself was the mover behind this film, not some film maker coming along and asking if he can do a film about him. So essentially it’s a promo, or a self-promo, or if I were being unkind, a vanity project, not a independent documentary.
2. Having instigated, or commissioned, or co-operated or whatever, to get this film made about himself, Bob then modestly decides to call it “Bob: brilliantly difficult”. It’s true, of course, but I’m not sure that’s a title I’d have chosen, if I were him.
3. From the clips I’ve seen, we’ll have the usual hagiography interspersed with a minor celebrity love-in featuring all the usual suspects from the anti-vax / lockdown sceptic world, all telling us that Bob’s the new Michelangelo, because of course us little people aren’t capable of knowing what to think without being told by some one with a lot of followers on Twitter. The love-in continues on that platform, with Bob tearfully thanking all the ‘big names’ for retweeting it. By this time, my gorge is rising pretty high.
Nothing wrong with all this, of course, after all, Bob’s running his own business now. Any publicity is good publicity. Just not sure I want to join the fan club.
By our nature, we are readers and supporters of this site because we are sceptics. I really like Bob Morans work, and think that it is useful in bridging to those who are still unaware or accepting of the horrors of the Covid Era. All power to him.
I do tend to agree with you that the film is a long advert for Bob. I don’t mind, and I’m in the Bob fan club anyway. I think your view is as valid (or is that Vladid…) as mine…
Nice pun. I think if the headline had been “Watch the New Film By Cartoonist Bob Moran” that would have been more honest. But then, any further conversation would have to go along the lines of:
“Oh yeah, what’s it about?”
” Well, it’s about Bob Moran. ”
“Right. So Bob Moran’s made a film about himself?
” Yeah. ”
“And it’s called “Bob: Brilliantly Difficult?”
” Yeah. ”
“And it’s all about how brilliantly difficult he is?”
” Yeah. ”
“With lots of minor celebrities saying how brilliantly difficult, or difficultly brilliant he is?”
” Yeah. ”
“Right.”
So?
So what?
What comes out strongly from the film is a sense that a lot of people felt that what was going on was wrong. And Bob’s cartoons gave a lot of people comfort knowing that they where not alone in thinking that way.
That chimes with my experience also, Bob and LS (then DS) were the two things that helped me the most.
I don’t think you have to join anything Vlad, and you don’t have to watch the whole thing if you don’t want to. Choice, it was always about choice.
Thanks for the advice, mate. I had no ida that I didn’t have to watch it.
You can make sense of it here:

I do happen to think Bob went too far during the incident that saw him leave the Telegraph. However it could easily have been me, because I too was frequently boiling over with rage at what was being done to us at that time.
His cartoons are absolutely brilliant and his move to independent status has, I’m sure, resulted in an incredible number of iconic cartoons many or most of which we would not otherwise have.
Although he may possibly have gone too far in the incident you mention, he was genuinely and understandably hugely upset – and said he was sorry afterwards. That may have been his biggest mistake – never, but never, apologise to the Woke Stasi. It won’t do you any good – they will cancel you anyway, ensure you lose your job and generally make your life a misery.
But he is probably – no, certainly – the most incisive political cartoonist going. The Telegraph made a huge mistake – Blower is consistently good, but Davey and the new one are not in the same league as Bob.
Watched it last night. It was brilliant, however I have a background in film and it was a tad choppy in the cut, to the point of being a little nauseous! But the general message and truth behind the story shone through!
Bob’s a great guy and a true hero. Without him many would have gone totally bonkers!
WELL DONE BOB!

Some of his cartoons are really very moving.
It says a lot about him and about the times we live in.
I hope ordinary journalists who have been churning out state propaganda for 2+ years get around to watching this short doc and are overcome with shame.
It maybe self publicity but I’d quite happily buy a book of his cartoons to place on every coffee table around the land. So that people can see the stupidity of the last two years and possibly the horrific future we are sprinting towards. People really do need to start waking up and the poignancy of his work might help just a little.
I watched this yesterday. What a wonderful tribute to a hugely talented and brave man. It was lovely to see the man behind the cartoons.
The DT were incredibly stupid to sack him.
