So it worked well for us in the end once Matt Hancock was defenestrated. Hard fiscal heads (Sunak, Javid) prevailed and Boris was forced into an almost unconditional surrender! And objections from Scotland by Stephen Reicher and Devi Sridhar did not amount to a hill of beans.

Whoever blew the whistle on Hancock deserves a knighthood.

The Hon. Toby Young and the plain old lockdown sceptics (POLS) resolutely kept to lockdown scepticism, and avoided being turned into a sort of ridiculous Info Wars web site. The conspiracy theorists are well served elsewhere. In the end, Jesus had to drive to drive the money changers from the temple himself. I only hope I helped to drive out a few lunatic conspiracy theorists away, or at least spoil their day a few times. No need for hard feellings when I win!

Anyway, it's all water under the bridge now. Well done all, crisp and concise focus by POLS carried carried the day. In a week and a bit, step 4 will happen and England will be free of ANY meaningful restrictions. I predict the RoUK (rest of the UK) will line up soon, Eluned Morgan is already signalling that Wales is going to have to "learn to live with" coronavirus:

What's done is done, there is still quite a lot of mopping up work. We still have build back a better democracy.

Lockdown has not been lifted. The restrictions have been changed within the same imposed framework contingent upon on a continuing so-called 'Public Health Emergency'.

Only when it is officially acknowledged that this bogus emergency is over will we be out of the woods. There are enough reasons to bring it to an end: deaths, hospitalisations are low and safe, cheap and effective treatment of covid-19 is available (e.g. ivermectin).

As long as the Coronavirus Act remains on the books we're still in lockdown and things can change at any time.

Totally agree with you Mike.. the calm before the storm.. I wouldn't trust these psychopaths as far as I would throw them which is not far but I would happily drag them to the nearest ditch...

You might be in your woods for a while. I am happy for you to remain in your woods. If you get cold in there, make a little bonfire with your face masks.
