The efficacy (or not) of ivermectin is less salient now since the nhs has acquired 480,000 courses of Merck's  new molnupiravir, which was swiftly approved, the cost is unknown but is likely  to be around £300m which is a drop in the sea of nhs spending, which  totals £50 bn.
