Interesting Lancet paper this week:-
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)01642-1/fulltext?fbclid=IwAR3CI00yX-YgLsRSXd-0CdBLNm4FDyamzo_Je2wX8GqXwCJPJSnO--2ra7U

Ultimately antibody waning after a 2nd dose for both Pfizer and AZ.

Spoiler, it drops relatively quickly but AZ is 2.5x lower with a more rapid drop off than Pfizer for all time periods.

Yes AB concentration doesn't directly correlate with protection as its ignoring memory, T cells and so on but its a sign we're not going to get long lasting protection *against infection*.

Boosters are going to be needed and for sure they need to be mRNA.  There's no benefit at all to giving anyone AstraZenica at all any more - especially where each new dose of the same vector reduces its effectiveness over the previous one.

Suspect gov't policy is going to be mRNA autumn boosters for all.

So as predicted, just as long lasting as the annual flu shot. This was obvious from the history of previous HCOV vaccine attempts over the decades.  Protection does not last very long.

If the SARs 2 vaccines were safe attenuated virus vaccines this would be less of a problem but as all current vaccines have almost two orders of magnitude higher adverse response rates for a much lower risk profile than Influenza A/B for all people under 50 how long will this hysterical stupidly continue. Killing lots of people for a very low QALYS yield.  Killing lots of younger people to (maybe) save very few older people in bad health.

Now its  going to be interesting to see when the true general population efficacy rates for SARs 2 vaccines start appearing. Lower than the annual flu shot (20% to 50%). Guaranteed. Just like with previous HCOV vaccine candidates.
