I have been asked this question multiple times. I must be slow, but it only just dawned on me that I have never been asked "Have you been vaccinated or had COVID already?"

I have been asked this question multiple times. I must be slow, but it only just dawned on me that I have never been asked "Have you been vaccinated or had COVID already?"

Groucho Marx once said, "I have had a wonderful time - but this wasn't it."

You could say, "Yes, I have been vaccinated - but it wasn't for covid."

What a surprise; maybe most people are wise. If not, you could tell them to mind their own business, or maybe a pejorative question, such as: why do you want to know, have you got the clap or something?

How about..

No. I am waiting for a safe vaccine that is the same type of vaccine as the annual flu shot.

The same type of vaccine that is used in almost all non western countries as a SAR2 vaccine.

The same type of vaccine that has be proved safe for almost 100 years.

The same type of vaccine as the ones you got as a kid.

Then if they are vaccinated..

Did you sign the clinical trials informed consent form?

Did you read it carefully? It should have been at least 3 or 4 pages long of dense text.

Did you know that the vaccine type you got has never been approved in the past for mass vaccination because it had so many side effects and provided so little protection?

Do you know these vaccines are associated with more deaths in the last year than all other vaccines in the previous 30 years?

And finally. The mortality rates from all causes in 2020 in all western countries was about average for the last 10 years.  2020 was a typical year, nothing out of the ordinary.

What pandemic? This is the first pandemic in history that pretty much only killed people who already had a very high probability of dying otherwise. That killed so few otherwise health people. Or those under 50.

My usual response is more or less the same, with variations in tone and forthrightness tailored to suit the dwindling level of intellect usually (barely) present in the dimwit I'm unfortunate enough to be engaging with.

A few days ago I took another tact. During a casual conversation on a park bench with a retired couple, they naturally assumed that I'd been double-jabbed and asked 'The Question' almost rhetorically, to which I replied with the affirmative, effectively going 'undercover'.

I then began gently questioning the couple about what they 'knew' about covid19/mrna 'vaccines'/natural immunity etc, feigning a degree of confusion, curiosity and exasperation owing to the contradictory and fear inducing nature of the BBC's coverage (the source of their 'knowledge' by their own admission).

Their answers became very confused and self-contradictory very quickly, to the point where they themselves began to stumble on their own words without me having to overtly point out the inconsistencies in their answers. Occasionally, still feigning a degree of confusion, I would gently cite information gleaned from 'a Daily Mail article' which called the validity of their 'knowledge' into question, again leaving them struggling for anything other than the usual government approved BBC spoonfed narrative.

Nice couple, despite having had their fear of death and unquestioning trust in state institutions weaponized by the media. I will be using this tact again in the hope that it may just plant enough of a seed in someones mind that they start to look beyond the official narrative and avail themselves of some clarity and perspective.

Thats one of the less frustrating ways of dealing with this loaded question. The Socratic Method Approach. Gently and politely teasing out the inherent contradictions and inconsistencies in the other persons opinions until they get tied up in knots in a tangle of their own illogical statements.

The only problem with this approach is it is very time consuming and likely to have unpleasant consequences if people are pushed too far in being shown up. As Socrates discovered the hard way.

I find the direct approach works with Covidians. I bury them with science. Very detailed science.  It does not change their mind but it shuts up the loudmouths very quickly. Because without exception they have not a clue what they are talking about. Just parroting talking point of "experts".  Every now and then you do find one who knows enough science to argue their point. But they are never Covidian true believers and they quickly back down to a more reasonable point of view.

If i hadn't do so i wouldnt be able to work or have fun.

I know of many people the same as me, it was purely to allow travel and nothing else.

The obvious answer is: yes, I have been vaccinated.

Luckily, a high proportion of the UK population have also made the wise decision. The result is a dramatic reduction in hospitalisations and deaths, as a proportion of the infection rate, in the UK.

welcome back. The anti-vaxxers have been having a field day. Although reports show 88% have had first dose and 77.5% have had second dose. When they hear you are back they will shout you down or shout you down, one or the other.

A one day wonder..hmmm..

What I find interesting is that even after 18 months and the fact that it is available to almost 2/3'rds of the worlds population why not one single traditional safe SARs CoV2 attenuated virus vaccine is available in western countries.  Not one. (Except Estonia it seems)

Plus I have seen almost zero "anti-vax" postings here over the last year. Just a lot of very strong supporters of public health vaccines like me who completely refuse to take experimental vaccines where all traditional safety and efficacy standards have be thrown away just so politicians can have political spin press conferences. Vaccines that have been associated with more serious adverse reaction and deaths that all other public health vaccines in the last 30 years.

Safe effective vaccines dont need clinical trials were they remove the placebo group half way into early Phase II. Safe effective vaccines dont need very deliberate legal obfuscation and lies where governments  claims the vaccine is now "approved" whereas in fact the legal status of the actual vaccine that is being used for the previous 9 months has not changed.

So I'm glad you are happy taking your dangerous vaccine placebo which has so many supposed magical qualities.  Unlike every other human corona-virus vaccine in the past your vaccine seems to give complete protection for periods  longer than a few months. Rather than low efficacy for weeks to months.

Unlike every other novel vaccine type in the past which could not get approval the vaccine you took is completely safe and has no side effects. Ignoring the fact the previous novel vaccine type clinical trials showed adverse reaction rates of 70% plus and were so high for some types the clinical trials had to be abandoned.  Or the fact that the associated mortality rate with the vaccine you took is almost 100 times that of the flu shot.

None of this matters because the SARs CoV 2 vaccine you took is magical. Traditional science or mathematics does not apply to it.

Compared to what you seem to believe people who believe in healing crystals and homeopathy sound completely sane and firmly grounded in established science.  Well for a start the Placebo Effect is real. And has no dangerous side effects. Unlike your SARs CoV 2 vaccine.

And?

Apparently 8 out of 10 cats prefer Whiskas, although mine definitely didn't, and she lived to the ripe old age of 21.

We don't all conform to a single pattern; take comfort from your jab and please respect the choices of the vaccine-cautious. We are no danger to you.
