Thankfully daughters school have quite clearly stated that any testing is fully voluntary and will require parental consent etc. There won't be any discrimination on non-testers.

Rather distressed to see that basically >95% of parents have consented to have their children submit to invasive medical procedures which will grant them no advantage at all.

Daughter will wear a mask going to/from school and in the corridors (kids are conformist like that) but not in the class, she can't see the point.

Ironic isn't it how a year ago the government was specifically telling us NOT to wear masks. Now they are literally everywhere, and my worry is that even post-covid (assuming we ever get there), the fear of "catching something" will have become so deeply ingrained into the sheep that the damned things will still be a common sight.

Hi everyone,

My son's school has made masks in lessons compulsory and I am very worried about the negative effects on the children, their wellbeing and learning experience and also as a secondary school teacher, about my own teaching experience facing a see of masked faces! How on earth are we encouraging children to speak and participate in lessons if they are muffled by a mask? Oxygen levels in the brain are very important for learning, health and wellbeing. Anyway, I am sending the following letter to the school:

I am writing to you regarding my child, x, who is due to return to year x. x has been very happy at (school) and is looking forward to returning. Thanks to you and the other staff for everything you've done to make his journey so far a happy one.

However, I have some strong concerns that I would like to address in writing regarding the new requirement for children to wear masks during lessons. In view of the Covid-testing procedure that are being carried out in the school I do not see the need to also wear a mask.

There are clear and negative implications for teaching; only a few short months ago DfE advice was that “face coverings can have a negative impact on learning and teaching so their use in the classroom should be avoided”; it appears to be entirely unevaluated for its potential to cause harm and yet capable of causing great harm in a great many cases.

The Covid legislation makes no secret of this fact that harms have not been assessed – each of the Government’s regulations concerning coronavirus restrictions states “No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations”.
The WHO say that when authorities recommend masks for children those authorities should monitor and evaluate the impact on their health and education from the outset. Under a FOI seen in October, both DfE and the Department of Health confirmed they were not collecting this information.

In Germany a study of over 25,000 children wearing masks throughout the school day reports headaches (53%), difficulty concentrating (50%), malaise (42%), impaired learning (38%) and drowsiness or fatigue (37%); in France social media is awash with reports of parents measuring children’s oxygen levels at the end of the school day and finding them to be dangerously low.

There are lists of studies, many now peer reviewed, identifying other proven harms which are extensive and serious – communication issues, eye issues and difficulty breathing.

Therefore, I kindly ask the school leaders to review their policy on mask wearing and not make wearing masks during lessons compulsory. I look forward to your reply.

Hello,

I have recently sent an email to my son's secondary school regarding face coverings and the harms that can happen to children from wearing a mask. I received a reply explaining that they've taken my points on board but are following the government guidance.
All of the points that I raised basically fell on deaf ears and no consideration has been taken into account of the actual harms that can be caused.

My son has said he doesn't want to wear a mask but he doesn't know anyone else who will refuse to wear one. When his school made face coverings mandatory last winter because we were in lockdown and they had to wear one in the corridors, it wasn't such a big issue for him as many kids weren't wearing them in the corridors even if they weren't exempt so my son didn't stick out. However, now that the school has made them mandatory in classrooms, he could potentially be that one in class without one. And that is tough!
I do not want my son to wear one but I've explained to him that whatever he decides to do then it is choice as he has got to follow through with his decision.
I feel sick at what they're doing to the kids and how many parents think its ok to let their kids go through this.

Given mask exemptions cover 'distress' with the implication of mental health being affected, it is possible to claim that exemption now as mask wearing in class is a whole new level of distress etc.
A concerned parent can also use the studies on harm to the wearer to claim that physical problems are an issue also. Ergo, it is too much and we won't do this to our son/daughter. If you raise continued home learning with the school as an alternative they may not want the bother so would accept this change in your response on such health grounds to get the child back in school.
We had this problem and due to the mental impact of lockdown and the emotional/psychological impact of that, plus the new rules on back in class, this 'pushed' my child over the edge. Thus the mask on a bus or in a corridor was one thing but not for a whole day. We got a lanyard, college understood after phone discussions and have accepted this.
As regards testing we 'do it at home' so they go back 'negative' We do not consent to on site testing which is perfectly acceptable.
How long this will work I do not know. However, it is a way out. Hope it helps. Don't rely on other Sheep to back you. You are on your own alas...but not here obviously!
