Did it go like this?
1) The British authorities provoke the French by delaying giving a small number of fishing licences, hoping to provoke retaliation.
2) When the French authorities kindly oblige them, the British authorities tell the British sheeple that the French are acting weirdly, inexplicably, excitably - the same old theme that has been applied to all foreigners since goodness knows when.
3) Empty shelves! Blame the French! Don't blame that nice man Boris Johnson, any more than you'd blame Matt Hancock or Sajid Javid for people dying for unexplained reasons in ambulances parked outside of hospitals.
4) Tough winter. Population control. And not just if you live in Jersey. And sadly, maybe war too, whether a bit of shooting across bows, or something much nastier.
One thing is for sure: Boris Johnson is saying he doesn't know what the French are up to. He has said so openly. That suggests Britain has deliberately provoked an escalation.
According to the Daily Telegraph, "Britain must be punished for Brexit, says France", and in the strapline they inform us that "Brussels needs to make clear that 'leaving union is more damaging than remaining', says French PM in call for sanctions over fishing war".
"War", is it? Well that's what some sickos would like.
This argument has been deliberately provoked by the British authorities.
